The demographic? Men: 35-65. VL is in "rugbynimbus" demo.

But I was disappointed to find out Thore is actually straight. (Not so clear with Jo.) Not that it *should* matter, but real gay actors in gay roles still seems rare.
But their acting and chemistry make it seem legit, right down to little "lovey" gestures.
Well, I'm an American male in my 30s, never been into soaps, daytime or prime time, and not really into gay storylines. So I'm really not who the show's producer is targeting (i.e., I'm not going to buy sponsor products).
But I *do* appreciate a good story, decent acting, and the chemistry between the two actors, to the point you almost expect them to be dating in real life. Pretty cool.

I think he actually loves her. So far I have never used this idiom; hence, I don't know whether it means "I love someone" or "I like someone".

Example: Judith has a crush on David. Crush is like an infatuation. "To fall in love with" is more serious. Consti has a crush on, has fallen in love with, and actually loves Judith. He sees her faults, yet loves her.

Yes, I think Consti loves Judith (and probably Christian knows that), but since they don't have a romantic relationship, since Judith thinks of Consti as "just a good friend," Consti would tell her he has a crush on her (not "I love you"), because having a crush sounds less intense and more appropriate and would be less intimidating. (Judith wants true love, but is afraid of it.)

Hey everyone, I have a burning question for VL viewers in Germany. In the Us soaps, they have this practice where sometimes for some unavoidable reason, they suddenly change the actor who plays the same character (maybe coz the previous actor quit or was fired or something) Since it has been running since the 90's, does that ever happen in VL? I'm not implying anything here, just wondering.
it also has been practiced in VL soap several times they did change the actor for the same character. The character of "Henning von Anstetten" even was played by three actors until finally they let him die by accident.
Anyway, at the moment only the original actors play their various characters. (Oh, I forgot, Tanja's mother has been played by another actress back in the 90's, that's by now the only exception.)
There hasn't been a Ollian scene after this one yet. No Chris in the last couple of episodes and just a little of Olli. There is a confirmed Ollian appearence in this Thursday's episode as part of Judith's storyline (provided it didn't get cut).
The way Constantin expresses his mood is really warm. I don't know if this is a correct word to use in this sentence, but you guys know what I mean. I rarely see Western men show their soft side. It's cool that I can see it in Constantin.
I went and voted for Thore, but just how important is this award? I mean, lets get serious...the guy who played Fabian has been nominated and not Jo Weil?! In fact, Jo wipes the floor with most of the actors on the show. I honestly think he is one of the best actors on VL.

I think the initiators are the webmasters of the site who started the whole competition, so nor someone on VL either someone of us actually has an influence which persons they nominated.
It goes the same rule some pop music polls go: The redacteurs of the magazine give you 10 or 20 names of singers, and to have to chose the one who's the best among them in your opinion; but there's always the possibility your most liked one is not nominated among them.

Constantine and Christian??!!!! no no, I don't belive that for a second, they are just friends. At the minute Christian is like an agony aunty dishing out relationship advice to everyone, because he's so happy with OLLI, he feels like an autority in the subject. That's all. There will be ups and downs, for dramatic purpose, but the boys will stick together. Anything else would cheapen the relationship and make a mockery of the message they are trying to convey(Writers!)
It's a shame that Constantine has fallen so hard for Judith and can't seem to move on, but the same thing happened to Olli when he fell for the gorgeous Christian. Lukely, Christian soon realised likewise he had fallen in love with the beautful Olli. And now they are the couple of the century.

I have a silly question which I hope doesn't make you tease me for my imperfect English. What does "to have a crush" really mean? Constantin's mood doesn't simply seem like he likes Judith. I think he actually loves her. So far I have never used this idiom; hence, I don't know whether it means "I love someone" or "I like someone".

Thelovesower, you ask an important question--not silly at all (& your English is perfect).
A crush is a reaction to someone you find attractive and have romantic-sexual feelings for, but may not have known for very long and may not be seeing them as they truly are. Example: Judith has a crush on David. Crush is like an infatuation. "To fall in love with" is more serious. Consti has a crush on, has fallen in love with, and actually loves Judith. He sees her faults, yet loves her.

Thank you for your vivid explanation! So a crush is another word for infatuation, isn't it? According to what you say, Constantin no longer has a crush on Judith. He actually loves her for who she is. Then when Christian says "You told Judith that you have a crush on her", he actually understands that Constantin loves her, right?

Yes, I think Consti loves Judith (and probably Christian knows that), but since they don't have a romantic relationship, since Judith thinks of Consti as "just a good friend," Consti would tell her he has a crush on her (not "I love you"), because having a crush sounds less intense and more appropriate and would be less intimidating. (Judith wants true love, but is afraid of it.)

Well, u did fine with ur english. I think he said crush but he meant love because he didn't want judith to freak out but she still could figure it out. I know christian did. Of course constantine loves her. He bought her a star for heavens sake! lol

Starved for new episodes? Here's a solution! This episode is dated 13.10.08. On Ivan's channel you'll find episodes for Oct. 14, 15, 17, 20 & presumably more to come. There are no subtitles, but even if you don't know German, you'll still get a general idea of what's happening. Christian doesn't appear--but you'll see Olli, Olivia, Charlie, Constantin, and others.

Hey everyone, I have a burning question for VL viewers in Germany. In the Us soaps, they have this practice where sometimes for some unavoidable reason, they suddenly change the actor who plays the same character (maybe coz the previous actor quit or was fired or something) Since it has been running since the 90's, does that ever happen in VL? I'm not implying anything here, just wondering.

it also has been practiced in VL soap several times they did change the actor for the same character. The character of "Henning von Anstetten" even was played by three actors until finally they let him die by accident.
Anyway, at the moment only the original actors play their various characters. (Oh, I forgot, Tanja's mother has been played by another actress back in the 90's, that's by now the only exception.)

There hasn't been a Ollian scene after this one yet. No Chris in the last couple of episodes and just a little of Olli. There is a confirmed Ollian appearence in this Thursday's episode as part of Judith's storyline (provided it didn't get cut).

The way Constantin expresses his mood is really warm. I don't know if this is a correct word to use in this sentence, but you guys know what I mean. I rarely see Western men show their soft side. It's cool that I can see it in Constantin.

I went and voted for Thore, but just how important is this award? I mean, lets get serious...the guy who played Fabian has been nominated and not Jo Weil?! In fact, Jo wipes the floor with most of the actors on the show. I honestly think he is one of the best actors on VL.
I'm very happy for Thore, but it's really hard for me to take this thing serious when I see the guy who played Fabian nominated right next to Thore, and even worse, Jo excluded...This is rubbish and a crying shame!!

Actually, I'm sharing your feelings, but finally it was the decision of the initiators to sort out the nominated actors...:( and, of course, it's just a subjective decision.
Pity we're not able to do any change to it...
BTW, I also did my vote for Thore.
I think he's in a good position to go for gold.:) My prayers go with him.

Sorry for harping on the subject...but what did you mean 7cb4xtk by 'the decision of the initiators to sort out the nominated actors' Did you mean it was up to the VL team to put either Jo or Thore's name forward? and so they went with Thore? I'm not quite understanding.

I think the initiators are the webmasters of the site who started the whole competition, so nor someone on VL either someone of us actually has an influence which persons they nominated.
It goes the same rule some pop music polls go: The redacteurs of the magazine give you 10 or 20 names of singers, and to have to chose the one who's the best among them in your opinion; but there's always the possibility your most liked one is not nominated among them.

Constantine and Christian??!!!! no no, I don't belive that for a second, they are just friends. At the minute Christian is like an agony aunty dishing out relationship advice to everyone, because he's so happy with OLLI, he feels like an autority in the subject. That's all. There will be ups and downs, for dramatic purpose, but the boys will stick together. Anything else would cheapen the relationship and make a mockery of the message they are trying to convey(Writers!)

It's a shame that Constantine has fallen so hard for Judith and can't seem to move on, but the same thing happened to Olli when he fell for the gorgeous Christian. Lukely, Christian soon realised likewise he had fallen in love with the beautful Olli. And now they are the couple of the century.
Having said that...if Judith is just not feeling anything for Constantine, then there is nothing he can do. Constantine doesn't deserve to be second choice, especially to someone like David.

Honestly, guys - these are two actors in a soap playing their parts. I bet if the writers want to show something more than friendship between Consti and Chrissie, they can do it in a more convincing manner, as they did for Olli and Chrissie.
