  • Hey where is Dora? She is so much better as Gretal

  • Sad that Connie can't sing anymore....what a voice that lass has has.....

  • @s9747324b why cant she?

  • @Moviestar20 The last I heard she had a throat infection similiar predicament as Julie Andrews, she will just stick to acting.

  • Am I the only one who thinks the eldest Von Trapp girl looks like Rachel McAdams?

  • She's perfect for Maria! Beautiful voice and she even looks a bit like Julie Andrews especially the nose and hair.

  • I was pulling for Connie during the "Maria" show, and I'm so glad to see how amazingly well she is doing! :)

  • Wow they are all brilliant! Connie plays Maria perfectly! :-) Thanks for sharing!

  • Connie is amazing !!! I think I like her as much as I like Julie Andrews. I have heard her sing many other things and she sounds great what ever she sings

  • i got goosbumps

  • I love these songs and the movie since I was in my 7 y-o, when it was the first time I went to the theater movie, in Brazil/Rio, until now, in my 52 y-o, I thank all who makes the world a better place to live!

  • BEAUTIFUL, I adore the musical, I adore this rendition!!!!

  • Whats the thing on their forehead..i noticed that on the other videos.

  • @EMBAR93 they are microphones....they follow the hairline and are usually tan colored to kind of blend in with the skin. They are usually used in arenas and are more inconspicuous........

  • @EMBAR93 microphones......

  • Just go with the flow, Birgitte. Don't overanalyze!

  • im maria in my schools production <333 i hope i do as well as her :) <333

  • Comment removed

  • that was something.

  • I am 14 and since I was 8 maybe I've wanted to be and actress in films and I just saw this and I thought this is at least a little bit more realistic and I think my dream is changing and I never thought it would haha.

Maybe you'll see me on stage in years to come. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until I am old enough and can support myself money wise before I can move to England without my parents coz I live in New Zealand hehe.

    Wish me luck!

  • @MissILoveMusic13 well i play the part of kurt in the sound of music at leatherhead theatre (in england sorry) but auditions for different productions are free and every where. Just keep entering them and you never know a single audition can lead to a big future

  • @spectaculouz Thank you:) I was annie recently in my school production which really boosted my confidence:)

  • this gave me shivvers and that only happens with good things x :P

    they reallu were awsome x

  • how I wanna go back to the old times when everything was somehow more peaceful

  • @radtwelve lol in this movie you are in the middle of the war with the nazis and the anschluss, what a peaceful time it is :P

  • schniitzel :D

  • stunning!!!! I miss this musical!!

  • amazing cast!

  • The best musical I've ever saw . Gr8 voices. Perfect performances . Words can't describe.. Amazing :D *-*

  • Wow! They all have amazing voices, even the younger ones like Gretel. You have to be very talented to sing like that. The children especially must of had to work unbelievably hard to make a performance like that. Good job! :)

  • How Versatile!

  • 42 people HAVE NOT LIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, er, sometimes we do that! TOGETHER NOW!

Hahaha I love this musical! :)

  • Maria's voice is wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 6:48 Kurt forgets his note!

  • @LeaveItToJeremy

He sure did, poor guy. But Kurt and the entire cast are still very talented. They all have excellent voices and amazing physical and mental prowess as well.

  • Her voice. Is jaw dropping. And dripping with soul and passion. @ _@

    I like her even better than Andrews. ; U;

  • she is sho small

  • she is sho cayute

  • omg, she's amazing!

  • 40 idiots don't know what music is...

  • @lucaspiano hehehe yeah, they are quite brilliant, but I guess ignorance is a bliss lol

  • @lucaspiano and 24 idiots can't respect other kind of music

  • @lucaspiano 40 ''idiots'' have different tastes of music

  • @FendiAlien no she can sing but she is a one trick pony and has 'died' from musicals

  • @lucaspiano make that 44

  • @lucaspiano bingo

  • @lucaspiano 40 persons don't like this music, it's not the same, it's not because you don't like this video that you think they suck or w/e.

  • amazing video. since i am a kid i love this movie so much

  • I wish there's a DVD/Blu-ray version of this one

  • this is amazing

  • ah such an excelente performance, i wish to someday could adapt a version for the boys of my place , and share it all the way

  • BRILLIANT! I saw her in southampton when she went on tour, it was AMAZING! Can't wait till Oliver! and The Wizard of Oz go on tour! XD

  • it is NOT THE CAST!!!! I SAW THE MOVIE SO YEAH

  • Comment removed

  • @lamcoco1 This is the west end cast.

  • @lamcoco1 You mean the London Revival Cast?! As cast by "how do you solve a problem like Maria"

  • They're good,....it's stage performance and I think it's more difficult to do as good as that when you're filming for a movie.....I believe she'll do as well as Julie A.

  • of course no one tops Julie... but i really really like Connie! it's hard to play a role that has already been acted by someone as superb as Julie, and Connie was simply excellent. good for her!!

  • this is a totally different level of class compared to julie andrews

  • Maria has a beautiful voice! Way to go girl.

  • i like her singing just... shes singing a bit fast compared to julie andrew's version :o

  • Julie is the legendary Maria, but Connie here gave different atmosphere. Nice job!

  • Bravo!!!

  • IMO the movie is so good is transcends any stage production.

I feel the same about Chicago not that I'm putting Chicago in the same

league as the Sound of Music....

  • I think she's doing a good job, to make a movie is different from theater, where you need to exaggerate

  • Why does the do re mi ..song sounds so alike to mary poppins

kind of like the same concept

  • Why does the do re mi ..song sounds so alike to mary poppins

  • ..she carries the torch beautifully.. love her voice and passion - brilliant :)

  • wow this is great! im playing maria right now and shes so inspiring!

  • Hey

  • where can i wtach the rest?

  • really love the children! they're fantastic!

  • LIKE THIS ...

  • Fantastic voice !

  • Bravo! Bravo! Nice Job!!(Daril Bonner Mentoring)

  • very nice :X she sounds very much like Julie Andrews :)

  • @ellaaa2008 no where near... but still amazing. i think we all agree that Julie Andrews's version is the best

  • It's one thing to sing in a movie with lots of breaks, and quite another to sing continuously performing in front of a stage. Props to her and the children.

  • Beautiful! I'll always prefer Julie Andrews, but this performance was great too! I love Do Re Mi sooo much <3.

  • i love the sound of musicc

  • New York's production in 1998 had the best kids.

  • Lovely.

  • The lady who plays Maria is absolutely amazing, second to Julie, of course, but she kinda looks like the mother in the Parent trap...I guess it's just me.....lol But wonderful!

  • very impressive!! i really like this! wish i could go see it but live wayy to far away:(

  • i love this :) and also when they performed on children in need 2006, i prefered the kids in that one

  • the kids are awesome!! :)

  • I prefer the movie, but this production is good too. (But kids better in the movie)

    Julie Andrews is always perfect.

  • The oldest child to me has almost TOO good a voice. She sounds desperatley out of place amongst the other children. That addition from Brigita is quite classic! Maria is done by one of the children! lol

  • I think she is just as good as Julie, if not a tiny bit better

  • This is great. Connie Fisher is a great talent. Please don't compare her to Julie Andrews. Julie will always be the best. But Connie more than holds her own. The kids are very talented too.

  • what is that on there head? the side of there forehead?

  • @babygurl20007. Microphone.

  • @babygurl20007 a microphone

  • A BRUNETTE!? A BLONDE GIRL SHOULD PLAY THAT PART!!!!!!!!!

  • NICE SINGING!!!

  • Andrew Lloyd Webber is ugly beyond words.

  • @odracirseraoseia1999 but his music are BEAUTIFUL BEYOND WORDS!

  • wow!

  • Anyone know what other shows Connie Fisher has been in? She is phenominal as Maria. I think that the real Maria Von Trapp would be happy with her performance. So would Mary Martin, who played Maria in the Original Broadway Production in 1958-1959.

  • @stix2507 Bear in mind that the 1965 movie is a highly-fictionalized version of the family's story. For example, the family did not flee Germany, and no one was pursuing them. After they were in the United States, they continued to rent out their house, the Villa Trapp, back in Salzburg.

  • @mindspring57 I did know that they did not flee germany-nor did they escape over the alps because that would have put them in italy, not switzerland; however, I didn't know that no one had been pursueing them, even though captain von trapp, and his oldest son( who was a doctor) had been ordered to join the nazi war machine(It was on A & E's Biography episode on the family). I also did not know that they had continued to rent out their family home in austria. the music of the show is wonderful.

  • @stix2507 I take your remarks as a compliment. Maria's books contradict each other and are internally inconsistent, but we know this much: In 1938, the captain was 58, and he had not been in a submarine for 20 years. The Germans were not so desperate in 1938 that they would pursue him. Rupert, the eldest son, had just graduated from medical school. He had no talents that could not be replaced by others. As Maria does admit, they left merely by boarding the train to Italy.

  • @mindspring57 I agree with you about Rupert's talents where the nazis were concerned. I am sure that he was a good doctor but so were thousands of others. However, when the nazis made a request, people found it nearly impossible to say no because it could put you and your family at great risk. that was a risk the family felt they could live with. Their music, and their story is a gift to us all. Have you been to their inn in vermont? someday, I would like to see it.

  • @stix2507 You are assuming a fact not in evidence. How do you we know that Rupert received a request? Maria has told various versions of the family story. In Time magazine (Dec. 19, 1938), she is the mother of all seven children. In Time magazine (July 18, 1949), it is said that the family left Austria BEFORE Hitler came to power. Look up the articles on Time magazine's website and you will see. So which version, if any, of Maria's convoluted story is true?

  • @mindspring57 I also wanted to thank you for being knowledgable about the family and sharing it with me. It shows how much you appreciate and care for the material as well as the true story behind the fictional story based on a real family. I hope you take this as the compliment that I mean it to be.

  • Great job Maria!

  • I opened this video thinking, "cute, another group of people trying to live up to the Sound of Music. Here comes this lady now, she's probably not going to be as good as--" ... and then she opened her mouth. And she's juuuuuust about spot-on! Whoever made the call on her playing Maria gets a gold star. There's nothing quite like Julie Andrews and the 1965 movie, but this performance comes close and is amazing in its own right!

  • The song "sound of music" was done by studio singers in the original movie, not

by the VonTrapp children. This was done live....no comparison is actually

    possible. They are quite good.

  • this is truly a good performance my congrats =)

  • it sounds a lot like JLS's new song the club is alive!!!!

  • NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS JULIE!! IS NOT AS POWERFUL AS JULIE.

  • @Jimboblication If you think that Julie Andrew's performance was good, listen to the original broadway cast recording featuring Mary Martin, the original maria von trapp on Broadway. She's wonderful as Maria.

  • @Jimboblication Your use of all CAPS is very cute. Are you 12?

  • that was brilliant

  • great

  • wow.... this made me cry..... its so beautiful

  • I <3 ALW

  • very fun

  • so beautiful

  • im suprised that her face isnt red

  • I love Connie Fisher! She is amazing. I'm so happy that she won the show .

  • Wunderschön !

  • @cozygrl ummm, okay then

  • Connie's amazing!

  • when I was a kid, I had this music box that would play this exact song! I have been looking for this song for years! and when I finally saw the sound of music I was jumping up with happiness and said,"Mommy!!! That's the song from my magic box!"

*tear* *sniffle* oh... the memories...good times...good times...

  • so brill!

  • bravo excellent i got goosebumbs !!!!

  • Me too.

    Such talent pure class.

  • lol 3:03 - 3:08

  • I love this! We went to see this and the exact same actors in 2007 in London and it was MAGNIFICANT!!!

  • Nice :D

  • she's good

  • julie andrews made this role so incredibly iconic, that they usually pick girls with voices that sound like hers.

  • While I adore Connie's voice, I really hate the choreography of 'Do RE Mi' That's looks worse than Supercalifra...in Mary Poppins...

  • She has the best voice I've ever heard.... gives me goosebumps...

  • She even sounds like Julie Andrews. Brilliant. Just amazing. I and DYING to watch this live. ♥

  • even connie's posture is like Julie Andrews!

  • a singer's posture ^_~

  • Was the eldest daughter in the Maria competition?

  • this is by far the best stage production of sound of music out there...connie fisher is perfect, as are the kids...they even look like their big screen counterparts!

  • no where near as good as Julie Andrews !

  • true...but connie is a great maria second to julie!

  • @sugacilic True. But don't forget that this is live, and what you hear in the movie are studio versions, edited, polished.

  • @sugacilic I agree , but don't think we're being just a buyist ?

  • The Sound of Music music was written by Richard Rodgers with Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein. Im guessing Andrew Lloyd Webber is there because he is seen as one of the biggest names in musical theatre after composing like 13 musicals of his own.

  • @NicholeConolly Also, he's involved in the competition-like audition for the new production of the Sound of Music. The series was called "How Do You Solve the Problem like Maria?" Another one like was "Joseph, [...] Dream Coat".

  • No, he actually brought it back on the stage in 2006, and I guess he has made some minor changes in certain songs(like My Favorite Things was originally sung by Reverend Mother and Maria in the show and Maria in the movie, but here it's sung by Maria and the children).

  • But Lloyd Webber didn't make that change; it was changed for the film and kept in most subsequent stage productions; such as the 1998 version. The 1998 B'way revival also used "Something Good" from the movie into the score.

  • yeah. my school is doing this production tonite, and we used "Something Good" in place of the original song. but we kept The Lonely Goatherd and My Favorite Things the same.

  • YoYoDogster123!!! webber didnt wrote the sound of music!!! but thank you:)

  • BRAVISSIMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this video is absolutely fantastic!!! thank you

  • what show it is? and do andrew loyed webber has to do with it???

  • It's the Royal Variety Performance, and Andrew Lloyd Webber has a lot to do with it, as he wrote the musical they are performing - The Sound Of Music. :)

  • He didnt write it

  • this is a very good musical :)

  • wow! connie is perfect for the part and the kids are so cute.

  • That was simply delightful.

  • This is a brilliant performane!

  • i think she is brilliant.... and i really like liesl`s voice too

  • I loved it. Where was this performed at?
