@FalcnPWNCH There was no cartoon for it; he appeared in his Powermaster body (via crude CGI) in segments at the start and end of the "season 5" G1 reruns (along with the human Tommy Kennedy), but the episodes were otherwise identical to their original airings. And he was in that body in some of the comic books, but it was otherwise just a toy release.

In Japan, the same toy was used as the non-Optimus Prime character Ginrai, a non-sentient mecha piloted by a human. Search my channel for: Ginrai

I think the one time they did show PM Prime was in a commercial. I remember seeing it when I was in high school around '88 or '89. But they showed him as PM Prime...maybe I'm wrong

@bvzxa3 There were a couple of Powermaster toy ads around that time; one featured PM Optimus Prime specifically, another featured both PM Optimus Prime and Doubledealer.

@Metman2J You have to remember that the PM Prime toy represented two completely separate characters. In the US, it was a new body for the guy in this video. Same spark, consciousness, etc.

In Japan, it was used as a non-Prime character called Ginrai. In Masterforce, a human named Ginrai fused with a truck that looked like Prime and transformed into a robot that looked like Prime. But wasn't. So, "he" - this guy - his consciousness, etc wasn't actually in Masterforce. Ginrai ≠ Prime.

Actual, biological humans who became the Godmasters and Headmaster Juniors and combined with a non-sentient transtector; and the Pretenders, who were native Cybertronians who took on human appearance as part of the "robots in disguise" thing - they would shed their Pretender disguise, revealing the inner robot, and transform into a vehicle mode.

@nitrodudezoom This is from the start of "More Than Meets The Eye, Part 2", which should be in my uploads. The Decepticons were extracting energy from a mine, and Bumblebee and Sparkplug went in through one of the smaller shafts to plant an explosive. When they didn't return, Optimus drove up to the shaft entrance to send Roller in after them. Moments later, the explosive detonated and Prime barrel-rolled down the hill. The Autobots got him upright on his wheels.
