Thank you very much for the interesting info. Does the word KHOF mean "date palm" or "palm of hand" in Farsi? If so that, it is possible that the word has relation with the alphabet letter K that is thought to be derived from the Phoenician Kaph(maybe a pictogram of a palm of hand). But the vowel is different......
