I guess that the reason this cartoon of Judy Garland didn't speak..or even sing..was that..Warner's "Termite Terrace"(The animation studio..where they created and produced
those old movie cartoons)they couldn't find and hire a mimic/singer..who could perform
Judy's speaking and singing voice or..MGM wouldn't let Judy do a vo for the film.
@plasticonofan Yeah anyone can edit it, but anyone can delete unverified information. And they DO. Very often. I can write that the sky is purple on wikipedia, that doesn't mean that it'll stay up.
You wikipedia-doubters always seem to overlook that.
@BDNeon Well I think on the Looney Tunes DVDs the commentary mentions who everyone is but I haven't watched that in a while. I could be wrong and I apologise if I am sir.
@ccipollini1984 AMEN TO THAT technology wasnt as advance like today it was more private and conservative back then... I remember this cartoon as a kid but didnt know these were movie stars from the old days!
Highly unlikely that it is supposed to be Rita Hayworth dancing with Cesar Romero. First of all, it doesn't look like her and secondly it DOES look like the same face they showed for Ann Sheridan. According to Life Magazine - July 24, 1939 - it was written into The Oomph Girl's contract that "she appear at the popular local night clubs at least three times per week." The article goes on to say that her "date" was usually Cesar Romero. Article is available on line.
@Pantages98382 I agree with you, because it looks more like Ann Sheridan. This was probably made around 1939 and while Rita was well known, she became hugely popular in 1941.
@Pantages98382 That is Rita Hayworth. The cells from the cartoon were on display as part of a Looney Tunes exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio in 2008..A list of the stars were included & what scene they were in.
@Pantages98382 it's rita hayworth. the complete cartoon features ann sheridan chatting with edward g robinson saying the word "oomph" repeatedly. admittedly tis is an unflattering of hayworth but the cartoon of garbo is even uglier. it is warner bros after all.

Best Rita Hayworth parody EVER: Woody Woodpecker in "The Woody Woodpecker Polka" cartoon. Still unbeatable, at least in my opinion.

Hollywood was so effortlessly cool back then. Now the fucking slut and whore and douche fest it is now.
