WHY DOES AT&T DONATE MONEY TO GET RICK PERRY ELECTED??? Since 2000, AT&T has given Perry $462,739.00 What's more, AT&T spent $18,349 to sponsor a lunch last December at a conservative summit and distribute 700 copies of Fed Up!, Perry's book which contains some of his most dangerous ideas! Just another reason to DUMP AT&T $ERVICES. PERRY opposes marriage equality, abortion rights, and even the federal income tax.
Verizon and Att are bell companies Tmobile is not. After the deal goes through I am positive than Verizon will buy Sprint which means Duopoly and is one step away from MaBell. And after the merger and you buy an unlocked phone your only option is ATT which means it would be a Monopoly
LOLOL. No one here knows what Monopoly is. There are many other choices for cellphones including Verizon, and Sprint, and the pay-phones, like at&t go phones, Verizon's pay phones, Boost, and Virgin.
at&t has a superior network, but needs that extra coverage. It will not reduce an area's reception.
And in fact, T-mobile customers should expect to pay 20% less than at&t customers.
Public interest group Public Knowledge took a novel approach in its opposition to the deal, claiming that the merger was illegal under Section 314 of the Communications Act, which prohibits transactions between domestic and foreign companies that would "substantially lessen competition" for international communication or any other related "line of commerce."
How is the merger a Monopoly? We still have Verizon and Sprint/Nextel as direct competitors, and all the little guys like Boost, Virgin, and Cricket. Somebody needs to grab a dictionary and look up "Monopoly" in the dictionary.
That would make AT&T the only GSM carrier in the USA. That is considered a monopoly. Plus the merger would have so many anti-trust lawsuits waiting to happen if this merger succeeded.
@dragnet53 Who cares whether it's GSM or CDMA? Nothing's stopping Verizon, Sprint, or anyone else from using GSM if they want. They've chosen not to employ that technology for specific reasons.
@romell946 WTF are you talking about. I think you replied to the wrong comment, cause I didn't say a goddamn thing about GSM being good or bad. I simply said that AT&T uses it, which is a fact.
@CaptainCocaine Who cares whether it's GSM or CDMA? Nothing's stopping Verizon, Sprint, or anyone else from using GSM if they want. They've chosen not to employ that technology for specific reasons. was this not your reply. Because i followed with it would be stupid to buy gsm when they are moving toward lte to different frequency just a waste of money at this time idiot. Simple and plain. Not good or bad learn to read. Att own gsm so of course im not talking about them idiot. Hint verizon ect
@romell946 You still lack a point. I never said GSM was good or bad, so calling me an idiot because you dislike GSM doesn't really make sense. Your original response would have been perfectly reasonable and informative, albeit a bit off-topic, had it not been for the pointless name-calling. You should heed your awn advice on that whole reading deal. May help you a bit in the long run. Cheers.
@CaptainCocaine And how could you dislike GSM? And that is a real question... I never really researched it but what if any are the drawbacks?? I could not imagine going back to CDMA.
@jwilliamsoh What? I like GSM. I wish Verizon used it in all of their phones. It would be great to pop the chip out of my nice phone and throw it in an old piece of junk anytime I went somewhere where I'd be concerned with losing the phone or dropping it in water.
@cloudkap I was talking to A TMobile Rep and according to her what will happen is anyone who already is under TMobile contract will be grandfathered into their plans for the remainder of the term...to give them a chance to decide if they like the new service (which they probably wont) while new customers (if any) will be under the shiny new ridiculously expensive plans. No one whom Ive ever talked too that has had AT&T can tell me with a strait face that the service is stellar and reasonably
priced. and I have a feeling that AT&T will hike rates up for current customers of TMobile, leaving them high and dry and both companies will just start losing business left and right. If AT&T wants to provide better service they should work on making their service better with building their own, and better, physical coverage plans, and better customer service, not do the lazy thing and just acquire someone else' hard work. This merger is making me think twice about getting Tmobile service...
The T-Mobile girl is hotter (and nice and soft too). You guys should have done it so that AT&T is a man and the T-Mobile woman are like an unhappy couple (marriage), and they give birth to an ugly baby (AT&T&T) ie. (a less efficient, more bureaucratic, job cutting, illegal monopoly (which AT&T already was and then the FCC still allowed them to swallow up all the baby Bells and become even more of a monopoly than they were in the 70s and 80s) with the worst customer service in the industry.
@SkylineToTheSeaAndMe Why not you produce the commercial. Really, I'm not trying to be funny, it sounds like a good idea. You could make a cartoon out of it, even!
@SkylineToTheSeaAndMe That is a GREAT idea.... and yeah the TMobile girl in this video (which is not the same as the real commerical but still applies) is HOT... In this commercial she is super hot. :)

This is soooo cool. Dealing with AT&T is exactly like dealing with a bitchy bimbo. You shell out $100 bucks for a date and you get no reception.
