I love this song. It was on the Take Me Home album, along with the underrated Love & Pain - bar none of her best vocals and heartfelt interpretive resplendence of song in her repertoire. Most of the album is signature Bob Esty production that reigned during Casablanca records brief dominance of Disco. Cher wrote this song about then ex Greg Allman and how he was 'too far gone' to get to know his son, so the emotion felt in her performance is personal and heartfelt. Cher is peak on balladry.
@EcstaticMomentz: I think what ravenwhitechapel meant by "if she had BALLS she would be the biggest star next to..." was that if she were a MAN, she'd have received the same recognition as other male stars, such as Lennon, Elton and The Beatles. ;o)
her voice, that song her voice is so soulful and rock and it rips my heart into a painful ach every every time I hear this... god she is amazing and if she had BALLS she would be the biggest star next to lennon elton and beatles she already has more hits than all other men
@ravenwhitechapel What do you mean? She just finished a 3 year contract at Caesar's in Las Vegas?? How can that NOT take balls for a lady in her SIXTIES???
