  • THEY are coming......holy crap!

  • wild pigs? thought boar lol

  • It sounds like bats.. But I could be wrong..

  • That actually sounds like the wild pigs we have out here

  • I'm guessing a barn owl.

  • Definitely juvenile barred owl. The call is different from the usual adult hoot.

  • i have heard the same voice in Hungary. Very weird. I think this is an owl.

  • We heard the same thing around our house in New Hampshire. We just found youtube videos of young barred owls making this noise. It is their begging call.

  • i was in central fl recently and heard this same noise scared the crap out of me ....never could figure out what it was

  • Tracked them down the the other night with a flashlight. Couldn't get a good look at the plumage but there was definetly 2 of them and they were definetly large owls of some sort.

  • I'm in va trying to figure out the same thing. Please give me a shout if you figure it out. Never heard it out here before.

  • I'm hoping to get a recording tonight. I have a friend that volunteers at a bird sanctuary and I'm hoping she can help.

  • I live in north central Ohio and my wife and I have been puzzling over this same sound! I've lived in this area my whole life and have never heard it until this year. We have cooper & redtail hawks, and a barred (hoot) owl that we hear frequently, but this one is new to me. If you have received any information as to what this is, please let me know! We had two of the animals calling back and forth last night and coming closer together, so maybe some sort of mating call?
