  • Wow I found one of these when i was a wee lad, and thought it was huge, but years later I thought i was just small, and it wasnt so big, but then after this post man I changed my mind audax's are big jumpers.

  • @mikefarrelljr67 - Yes, these were a few of my "bad boys"! They can get fairly large, as far as jumping spiders are concerned. Adults can be as small as .4" to as large as .7" Females are usually larger than the males, as is the case in several spider species. And a female with eggs, can be quite "fat" so much as to inhibit her jumping and climbing ability. Take care!

  • Hello. I've watch and enjoyed all of your videos, and jumping spiders is one of my favorites. But I was wondering If you could help me with wolf spider.

  • @rsnoobpwners - Hi, how can I help you with the Wolf spider? What's your question? And thanks for watching my vids! Bob

  • @BobCsAll Yup, still in Sweden. :-) Just moved to a new apartment actually, perhaps I'll add a video tour of it once I'm fully unpacked! How's it going yourself friend? Been a while since you added a video last I think!

  • Long time no see Bob!

  • @Kaminix How's it going my old friend. Are you In Sweden now? Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

    Bob

  • wow really cool vid!

  • @LuvMyBirdies - Thanks! enjoyed watching the latest wasp/spider vid on your channel too! Take care,

    Bob

  • Great video Bob! Loved the editing and overall quality throughout the vid. :)

lol, I feel pretty bad for the male who was near the most exciting point of his life, to be able to mate, and to then realize that his chance was demolished, because the female was dead. Quite a disappointment indeed, but of course, he may have a second chance soon if you'd decide to put him with another female, before he'd decide it would be a good time to expire himself. =p

  • @zEl1te45z - Thanks for leaving a comment and watching the vid! I throughly enjoyed reading your words and yes he was later introduced to another female who quickly watched his dance, was unimpressed, and thought he would make a better meal; than a dancer, so she ate him! That's what I call some rather bad luck with the ladies! He's off th that great web in the sky. Can't knock him for trying!

    Bob

  • @zEl1te45z - Hi Matt. hey thanks for the thoughful comment, I really appreciate it...the sound quality sucked, had some problems with my ne33w lav mike. The old boy did get another shot the next day and scored, and the third day, tried again and became another females lunch! OUCH...that's a sad way to go!!! LOL

  • "This male is approaching the female... But the female is dead." Lol that's an awkward first date.

There was a group of these living in my garden recently. They were so fun to watch. But a bad storm came through and I haven't seen any since.

  • @CallistoKumo - Hi Eleanor, yah, kinda sounds like my first date! Anyway he was introduced to another very much alive female the next day and he did his disco dance...she wasn't impressed..must have hated disco, and promptly had him for lunch! YIKES... I guess spiders only get strike two! Thanks for the comment and watching!

Hopefully you'll get some jumpers back!

    Bob

  • Great vid as always Bob. Missed the jumper vids all winter. Haven't had chance to get the camera on them as I usually do every year, but soon enough I will !!

    All the best!

  • @jaycymru - Thanks Jay, I enjoy watching your great aquarium vids as well. Just lost one of my male beta's yesterday. He managed to somehow get in with his next door neighbor's area and being the smaller took a beating before getting back to his side. Couldn't save him.

  • big bertha went up against queen muscle and bertha jaws could be heard making a crunching sound as they closed in on the head of queen muscle.

bob did you check out my jumping spider video with the phidippus Clarus?

We jumper men have to stick together

  • @johnnecron - Yes I saw your video more than once! I would just die to find a jumper like that one that you found! Love the cardinal red color!!! Hope you're having a wonderful 4th July weekend!

    Bob

  • they like flies Bob. and they always grab a fly right behind his neck.

Females will often fight to the death when placed into an arena.

    we used to fight them.

  • @johnnecron - Hi Johnny, actually both sexes will do that if they are "hungry"! Thanks for leaving a comment; have a great Fourth of July!

    Bob

  • All that fighting for no reward at the end.

  • @DerSchnurrbart - Well, the one did survive! But the female was a let down to all the stud males! LOL
