I thank you for showing me around your new house. I am a student in college working on my degree. Equally important , I am in my carpentry class learning to put the sheating on the roof and walls
thank you very much for posting this. It's very instructive and easy to understand. You mention a lot of good pointers. could you elaborate a little more why the need for the spacing between the sheets that you mention at 6:00?
@mikelight2008 Building materials, particularly engineered woods, expand and contract. If the sheets are butted up tight, they can begin to buckle on the edges. The very small spacing allows for that expansion without causing the buckling. The wood is not the seal, the underlayment and roofing material make the seal, so there is not a great deal of concern about having a little spacing between sheets. It's far more important that a good even surface exists to apply roofing material to.
Nobody needs a house that big, it's just an ego look at me and admire me and my money thing. And I agree with TABOOVSKNOWLEDGE that the landscape and might i ad the house look like it's from mars.
@sausag fact is, when all other opportunites in the residential construction were gone, these projects kept thousands of people employed. God bless the folks that have these houses built no matter what the reason. Honestly, anything beyond a sleeping bag and a windbreak could be considered ego. No one NEEDS a home. Who are we to say what someone else should have? By nature, we all want people to acknowledge and admire us-even you, no matter our financial station.
@TABOOVSKNOWLEDGE Much of the subdivision is/was complete. The southern Nevada desert is pretty arid and rocky. Once you begin doing road and building pad excavation, it adds to that. When the subdivision is complete and in the areas where it is, the landscape is beautiful.
thats one heck of a house, love the circle rooms that go all the way up, every thing looks profesional, and the view ,would love to wake up to that every day.somebody takes pride in their work,
