I'm a Sabres fan. The way I see it is this: had Neil hit Drury in the same fashion without injuring him, it would have been a clean hit. However, since that wasn't the case, it calls the hit into question. Additionally, there is no clear way to tell if his elbow was up or not from the camera angle. As far as the Sabres reaction, any other hockey team would have done the same thing. The only aspect of the fight I disagree with was when Peters went after the Sens' goalie. Otherwise, fair fight.

I am a huge fan of Lindy Ruff and his coaching style but this is the worst thing I have seen ever in hockey. Neil makes a fantastic open ice hockey hit, that just happens to injure a player, so he sends his goons out to intentionally break the rules and try and injure all of the Senators on the ice. Absolutely uncalled for and a huge black mark on the career of a great coach. And definitely not the way hockey should be played.

What he did is perfectly called for, if not more, no scratch that it wasn't enough. And the way hockey shouldn't be played, do you know hockey, I'm pretty sure that a late hit directed at the head isn't clean. It's a "blind side hit" with 100% meant to injure. It's called making a statement, and if they didn't know it was coming their blind.

Was it a hit to the head, impossibly hard to tell as Drury also landed on his head, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. His elbow was down, it was a good hard shoulder hit, and it wasn't blind side as Neil came across from the side Drury was heading. All this says is Drury needs to keep his head up. Go after Neil if you thinks its bad not somone who had no part in it.
