  • Oh Brian Cowen you fat bastard.. You look like a bulldog that swallowed a beehive.. And you fucked up my country. I like the speeches though :)

  • i d reather take photographs of graffiti....

  • @skoi87

To right Peter has a right to be there....thing is HES NOT THERE!

That is what i'm saying he should be standing along with the Irish PM and Obama (or whoever is president at a later date). The fact the Irish PM is the only one there is a disgrace as Patrick actually lived and worked in Northern Ireland, hes buried in NI as well. So why does the Republic of Ireland try and claim him for their own!?

Peter has more right to be there then the Irish PM.

  • @skoi87

    No-one said there was!

In-fact if you want to go into detail there was no Ireland back in St. Patrick's day either, the island was divided among clans and kinds (high rulers).

Basically what your saying is because there was no Northern Ireland our First Minister shouldn't be there...if that's your point then there also was no Ireland and therefore no Irish PM should be there !

  • President Obama makes me proud to be an American, & we are all honored to have him as our President.

  • weel miss you biffo

  • Look at the incurred, all government hacks. Most have a video cam or phone to video this. They cant believe they are in the white house, because they don't belong there.". Biden is an embarrassment too.

  • how to do to be invinted in White House ??

  • Proud Irish Catholic.Third Generation. My Grandfathers parents came from Kerry and my Great-Gradnmother came from Roscomon and my Great-Grandfather came Roscomon. My Grandmothers mother came to America at 17.I do not like Obama but I think he and Biden did a great job here.

  • "well if you're lucky enough to be Irish then you're lucky enough"....what a joke!

  • Why does Obama seem to link St. Par ticks day to be a Catholic day.

Once again the majority of Irish-Americans are Protestants around 60% in total I believe. St. Par ticks day is for everyone not one faith!

I believe groups sadly are distorting history. Some facts

Most Irish as I said are from Northern Ireland and are Protestant having Ulster-Scots culture or Scots-Irish = therefore most Irish-Americans are actually British around 55% of them.

9 US Presidents came from Northern Ireland

  • @51wins so more Protestant Irish emigrated during the famine than Irish Catholics...doubt it some how. the population of Ireland was reduced from 8 million to less than 4 million...with 5% of the population at the time being Protestant i'm going to guess you might be wrong

  • @pkiernan86

Not during the famine! Most Protestant arrived in the 16/1700's I believe in large numbers, it wasn't until the 1800's that the famine took place and those arriving during the famine were mostly Catholics although probable around 15/20% may have still been Protestant.

  • @51wins The bottom line is that american's celebrate st.patricks day beacause of there REAL Irish roots....and not the fucking north of Ireland which was basicly robbed by the English who just never left, that why the first minister is not up there, cause its fuck all to do with him.....end of story.

  • @JamesFallon23

So you expect the Irish to travel the world and be accepted, never integrating into American society...yet when Scottish and English arrive in Ireland and integrate well into the Irish people often marrying and mixing among them you call them robbers and wish for them to leave....bit of a contradiction there.

There are more Irish in America from Northern Ireland then there are Irish from the Republic = Northern Ireland's First Minister should be there!

  • I have always wondered why the Prime Minister of Ireland is invited to this event...what about the First Minister of Northern Ireland as well?

Let us remember that St.Patrick came from Northern Ireland not the Republic of Ireland. He lived and died in Northern Ireland and is buried there.

Most Americans should remember that 55% of Irish Americans are actually from Northern Ireland therefore the United Kingdom! Only 35/7% of Irish-Americans actually came from the Rep of Ireland.

  • @51wins

I'm guessing you didn't bother listening to the speeches. President Obama acknowledges First Minister Robinson and thanks him for coming. I'd like to see your sources to back up your claims. Especially seeing as %55 + %35 = %90!!! Not so sharp at Maths?

  • @GusdaSpark

I watched the entire speech...and I heard Obama but surely the First Minister should be standing there as well. The Irish flag is on show surely to make it equal to all sides the flag of St.Patrick should be on display as its his day not the Republic of Irelands.

As for sources, just go into Wikipedia they state the results of the 2001 US census, maybe the other 10% of Irish Americans said they didn't have a faith! If you know your history Protestant Irish went to the US first.

  • @51wins

I prefer something a little more conclusive than Wikipedia. In any case, I think it is fair to say the Catholic Irish played a greater role in America whether it be in the police department, fire stations or in politics with the Kennedy family.

  • @GusdaSpark

Statistics come from the 2001 USA census their shown on Wikipedia or you can look up official census page.

Irish Protestants played a much bigger role, they were the founders of the country, the builders, the men who fought for Independence, I think around 9 US presidents had Ulster-Scot ancestry.

I don't want to offend and I mean that, but Irish-Catholics really were the low people of America. The only major role the Irish played was manual labour in the industrial revolution.

  • @51wins

Living in America, I think I am qualified to say most Americans would say Jack Kennedy, not to mention Robert and Ted played major roles. Indeed Irish Catholics had to overcome discrimination and prejudice which makes their achievements in America all the more laudable. Look at their record of gaining college educations, it was far higher than any other ethnic group which came from similarly impoverished backgrounds.

  • @51wins Cont.......Irish Catholics made up a large part of the police forces and fire departments of the large east coast cities, NY,Boston, Philly, etc. rising to prominent positions. Irish Catholics were more organized and more politically active, hence them consistently being involved in the leadership of the Democratic party. In any case St.Patricks. In any case St. Patrick's day originated as a Catholic holiday, I don't see why the First Minister should have equal footing.

  • @GusdaSpark

St. Patrick isn't a Roman Catholic day, he brought Christianity to Ireland and is remembered by all. If anything as far as I know he disliked inference from Rome in the Irish Christian Church. Anyway that's not the point...its a day that the entire island of Ireland celebrates, the US Government invites the First Minister over on the day therefore it recognised the link, Why then only have the Rep of Ireland PM to present the shamrocks and why only have the Irish flag on display

  • @51wins

Well if you want a frank answer, It's because St.Patrick's day is a day for Irish people to celebrate. I believe the First Minister would classify himself as British. If he wishes to be British, that's fine but he can't have it every way.

  • @GusdaSpark some actually see themselves as both Irish and British

  • @pkiernan86

No they don't. Even those who consider themselves to be both are British, no Irish person would consider himself/herself to be both. You may claim different but it's nonsense.

  • @GusdaSpark yes they do...i think i'd know

  • @51wins 1.The first minister of N.reland is british....not irish....he has no reason to be there in the first place other than to make it look good and promote peace between the two sides.

    2.St.Patrick was from wales...not fucking n.irieland

  • @JamesFallon23

First Minister of Northern Ireland is British however he is also Northern Irish!

Some say St.Patrick came from Wales others say Northern Ireland/Scottish border....either way it makes him British haha. St.Patrick when in Ireland lived and worked in Northern Ireland (Ulster) in Co.Antrim/Down and Armagh...therefore Northern Ireland's first Minister has more of a right to be there then the Irish President does!

  • @JamesFallon23 Patrick was Roman...

    God you people are stupid.

  • cowen you fat fuck , i bet your half pissed already...im irish and your the guy who sold my country down the river....dickhead

  • cowen is pissed already

  • Look at that fat Offaly scumbag trying to look stately ffs

  • @yam500 What would you know about Offaly? Sholud you not be more concerned about those deathtraps General Motors turns out!

  • @tomaray23 ireland isent sitting on billions of oil. Are the tom???

  • well the king of saudi arabia gives gold and

the irish a plant well gift is a gift i guess.

  • good clip

  • you stupid stop man! UK deserves those things by IRA. When you got hurt u r feel the pain. Just think past 500 years of atrocities by british throughout the world. The have put long standing problems throughout the world. India-pak, israel-palestine and ROI-NI. I am living in ireland for the past 1.5 years. They are the best people, I would say. Friendly and good people. Not like british.

  • @sankadines There are good and bad folk in all countries. You call someone else stupid but inronically expose a bigotry in your own argument the same force behind any British misdeed or that of any other nation. Shame on you.

  • Oh my listen to the 2 face bastards of the world. Many people died in the UK due to funding the US gave the IRA. We had terror ever single day. Pubs were bomb, petrol bombs thrown at shops. Many innocent people lost their lives. Yet Ted Kennedy donated millions to them. The irish/Ameri marched through New York shouting Support IRA down with England. Nothing but a bunch of Potato pickers who are easliy brainwashed thats why their settled in the US.

  • @smp236520 I think you just don't like all Irish, so I'll stop writing here

  • @camerandpick He is spot on son...

  • @yam500 he is quite spot on about the bloodshed in the UK. Horrible crimes against innocent people at the hands of the IRA occured - it was wrong, tragic and shouldn't be forgotten. It should also be noted that Catholic life was made a misery under blanket Loyalist power in the North leading up to the start of the troubles.

This is what happens when politics gets fucked up. I'll listen to all arguments, but will swiftly call you a prick if racist or derogatory remarks are made

  • @camerandpick You have to look at the facts son

  • @yam500

Did you hear? North Korea has hit oil! Time to liberate them isn't it?

  • @eurocrime i bet it would be easy being president of the usa you just point the army and shoot

  • @SuperPieBros

It wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows... You'd be American.

  • @eurocrime dear god your right

  • @smp236520 45% of folk killed in The Troubles were killed by you mob & Kennedy was an SDLP supporter not a Shinner.English Catholic priest did not go to Ireland after The Reformation-it was the opposite way around fool. The RA is a strictly secular organistion not Catholic & has ALWAYS had non-Catholics in it.Iy you are a has-been Brit you get shafted by Yanks,Brussels, immigrants, ethnics,Queer English politicians & Taliban fans.

  • @smp236520 many died in Ireland due to funding, training and information the British government gave the UVF. the single greatest atrocity of the Troubles in fact.

  • damnit Joe Biden, you already had a rep as an ass...and then you did that....thanks...no really...from an American whose parents are from the Emerald Isle

  • Any negative view is frowned upon, and as you can see gets bad ratings, if i told you i was going to do something good and then had people clap for me just cause i said it wouldn't that sort of make me a bigot in ways and make you look like sheep?? Oh no but anything someone wearing suit says that makes it legitimate...0_o

  • Why did Obama mention Norhtern Ireland and their ministers???? Ireland and Northern Ireland are 2 different countires. Its akin to welcoming the prime minister of Canada and then discussing France's political leaders? Bizare.

  • They claim that people are gonna get help, and things are gonna change, yet they're so very eager to give themselves recognition and a big pat on the back for what a great job THEY'VE all done. If they did such great jobs then we wouldn't be in this mess.

  • What an idiot, he got it wrong about Cowens mom being dead when she's alive and then jests to sugar coat it so people will laugh, look at that cheshire cat smile @ 1:37. How classic a scene, the leader of the pack talks and the wolf pack gathers and listens. Obama stands silently until someone pulls his cord

  • Nice video, well done.

  • If you are from outside the US, please understand, everyone in the US does realize that vice-president Joe Biden is an ass.

  • haha ambassador Michael Collins

  • And whats interesting is that it is mostly people from Ireland checking out this video

  • Mr. Cowen's speech was actually not so bad. I was dreading this as always though

  • americas a very odd country, really

  • I noticed when obama mentioned that supreme court leader anthony kennedy is here most of the audience just remained silent not because of his name necessarily but maybe it could be that the justice system in america is just not respected very much at all hopefully anyway.

  • Awesome video. What a privilege to see heads of the states celebrate St. Patrick's day and share from their hearts jokes and heartfelt greetings. Thank you for the video.

  • your vp is an asshole. Who makes jokes about someones parent dying especially a head of state?

  • Fuck the Taoiseach making shit of our country!!!! I'm disgraced to have that fat cunt representing Ireland

  • gooooo gabriel byrne

  • he's drunk.

  • A wonderful lighthearted moment. Thanks.

  • I agree sir. I agree.

  • well technically it's the fault of the guy who wrote the remarks that are in front of him, but yeah

  • @joebidensanass Couldn't possibly disagree more. The only thing he's been mistaken about, in my opinion, is his lack of support for the Gulf War. Other than that small aberration, I think he's been very informed, and on the mark. He's very intelligent - hence why Obama chose him to be VP.

  • hating on an innocent video... sad sad people with no lives.

  • It really is an identity crisis what we Irish are going through at the moment after all this terrible scandal, cover ups and sheer evil that was happening in the country, at the hands of the Catholic Church.

Its is a defining moment not only for how Ireland reacts, but of the fate on the Catholicism overall. I for one have lost all faith in the church - just one out of the majority of the Irish population today, methinks

  • leave the catholic church alone you prick, you don't know exactly what goes on, don't believe what the media feeds you

  • @camerandpick Well us English kicked the Catholic out of Britain. Started our own church. The priests who didnt hang went to Ireland and brainwashed you. Than u listen to them and formed the IRA to get Ireland free of Britain. We had years of bombing due to them being funded by the US.Then u went and joned the Euro and EU who have fucked u more than the catholic church. The saying in Uk is If u are Irish than bend over and take the fucking.

  • Love the green curtains!

  • hello

  • it seems all the conspiracy theorists seem to have disappeared. Remember like the first year obama got elected and how many doomsayers there were on each of his videos?

  • @lowbottomranch Exactly, the former were a bunch of boring, stiff, useless windbags.

  • @cutegirl6792 well i agree but

    biden is known for guffaws

  • Michael Collins lol!

  • The White House is so much cooler since our new President took office. A huge change from those retards from the last administration.

  • @sedecim

I'm not concern who is is white house, I'm concern what kind decizion in white house president is making, as far health care,he deserve Nobel Medal.

  • that's some shit!!!

  • Jesus is the only way to heaven

  • Ireland FTW!! lol

  • Ok, how was it a good idea to get Joe "Gaffe-master" Biden shit faced drunk and put him in front of a microphone at the White House? Now, Mr. Pres needs only share some of that top-shelf Potatoe Whiskey with the rest of us so we can accept the coming passage of this Insurance company lifting healthcare bill. We must all wish we could afford to invest in big Pharma and Insurance giant stock. The dividends would help us with our mandatory payments to our nest-egg... I'm not the "lucky" by the way.

  • The white house is all about jocks now. The Democrats are much funnier. Every body just repeat that much americans claim to be irish. You could be more original in your speech guys.

  • Stop paying taxes! US Constitution Article 1 Section 7 clause 2

  • @BeantownJim stop being an arse

  • If we stop paying it who then will pay insurance for federal and local officials?

  • my channel welcomes adding Friends from USA, Ireland and the world :)

  • seems biden got drunk sooner

  • Happy St. Patrick's Day! Woot!

  • Kill the bill!

  • And then they all got drunk!

  • dang even they all wore green...I totally forgot

  • They should put, "rate 5 stars or you go to federal jail"

  • rofl

  • this is one of those times where i wonder what editor these people use... lol

  • oh my gosh with all the videos the White House puts out and the time it must take for each to upload they must be payin one guy to sit at a computer and upload videos all day.
