  • ooh it deelite

  • Vinyl..For all you PCDJ,s

  • For the idiot who says Flash was party dj and thats it.. Duh you ass thats what djs do, they rock party's. Before you come out cha face. I'm a witness to hip-hop I grew up with it, you may have grown up on it, I came up with it like a brother.....

  • I hear a lot of talking, but how many of you were there.. I was.. I lived in Twin Parks, Bronx River, Webster Projects. I witnessed most, I had every tape available. TapeMasters who remember them?.. Like I said A lot of talk by people who don't have a clue, which makes all of your opinions ignorant.. Flash was the man, Theodore invented scratching, Flash was faster.. Probably the greatest dj battle Grand wizard v Flash 6 turnables i think it was 6 not sure,, Who won nobody can answer that...

  • What happened when Flash came to Plainefield NJ to battle dj Cheese in the early to mid 80's? I was living in Plainfield but was too young to be there ,were you at that one ?

  • whats the name of the song 2:55?

  • poison - bell biv devoe , good snares , not a very very good song , but used well by GMF the 2nd / NOT the first , mean gene theodore invented scratching alongside flash

  • seven nation army...white stripes...easy "dance rock" for your set... (serious?...this was pop radio rock...glad to help, your parties will love it, as in "chixdiggit") if you're ever in seattle, you owe me a dollar...or a euro...yaun, whatever... :)

  • belopolsky I dont know, From Poland? ;) please More more narration.. :) Grandmaster Eternal ! he he

  • damnnn. this video cuts off at what i think was the best bit!

  • Flash was a party DJ and thats that! . DJ Mean Genes brother is the first person to really be credited with "scratching" not flash. Flash was one of the first to mix the breaks together. He was good at the time and one of the best party DJs but the Furious 3 (later 4 &5) were his dance team not MCs so he was the one that started it all. Other DJs that should get props from the day were Baron, E Cheeba, Disco wiz, Clark Kent. Lots of history there, just dont believe it all from one person.

  • When Flash said that "DJs gotta play it all", I couldn't agree more; I did a new yr's eve party to bring in '08 and opened with soft rock because my crowd was into that, and I got mad cash tips and just a good time from people who'd appreciated a DJ who spin not only records but classics as well as up to date shit. I luv Flash.

  • so u r saying flash can take credit for the song "the message" that he wasn't on & wanted nothing to do with because he was on the album? what about "white lines"? what's your logic for him taking credit for that? flash wasn't even on the label when melle mel did that one.

  • Read up on Flash new book and see that "White Lines" was released while he was trying to break contract with Sugar Hill records; they used Flash name to help sell records, my man. He didn't know nothing about the song until it came out. Melle mel was a sell out.

  • Flash was going to call his book "The Message". He changed his mind at the last minute because of the bad comments he was getting saying he was trying to fool the public into thinking he wrote/produced the song "The Message". He has continued to take credit for "White Lines" as well. He even appeared on Duran Duran's remake of the song. Flash is the one who is phoney. - and, he sucks as a DJ too. He is slow and makes lots of mistakes.

  • The sad thing about you, is that you know nothing about hip hop! If it wasn't for Flash no one would know anything about bringing a beat back, as its called today. back then it was called 'cutting' and backspinnin' two exact records to the most excited part of the song. He is slow, you say? You're talking about a man who hand the fastest hands when it came to cuttin' "Grandmaster cuts faster". To say Ali punch is slow now is only a result of age, flash is past his prime, wise up, or shut up!

  • Flash has become a legend by gettin' credit for records he wasn't even on. "White Lines", "The Message", ect.., Melle Mel is responsible for all their hits. Flash played no part, other than taking credit.

  • Keep in mind we're talking about the time period when the 'DJ' was the main person in rap groups despite his MCs; look how many rappers done songs back in the day about their DJ. It was Flash group, the Furious Five were his MC's. He didn't rap. Moreover, Flash became the 1st DJ to take turntables into the studio and do a record (Wheels of Steel) an instant classic. Eric B was Rakim's DJ, he didn't rap, yet his name appeared before Rakim's. Do your same rule of thinking apply here too?

  • i agree flash is a legend for his cuttin skills, what i objected to is how he likes to take credit for things he had nothing to do with - like "the message" & "white lines".

him calling his autobiography "the message" is about as stupid as melle mel calling his "the wheels of steel".

  • he was behind those songs, he put the group together.

  • flash wanted no part of "the message" when mel recorded it and flash wasn't even on the label when mel did "white lines". just cause he started the group in the 70's, doesn't make it right for him to take credit for the work others did without him in the 80's.

  • put didnt the album the message come out in 1982, it was a group album and flash was apart of it

  • You can't be serious. Well, I guess that's why your user name is 'Play Serious' because you can't be serious about what you said about Flash...

  • Hath portention occured?

  • Have what occured?!?

  • Portention. It is the time, is it not?

  • Well, when you are 13 years old, like you, you can't expect much...

  • dj's that play ther own songs are the worst. who produced the beat did you ever think about that. you dont know nothin about djing, so why talk shit.

  • Flash didn't produce. Flash didn't write. Flash spins records. He is in the Rock Hall of Fame because of the hit records they had. Melle Mel was responsible for that. You can't get in the Hall of Fame unless you have hit records, otherwise Kool DJ Herc would be in. Flash owes a hall of fame thank you to Melle Mel for writing and performing all of "Flash's" hits. You may not like what I am saying, but it's the truth.

  • fair enough, but your not lookin at the big picture, every rapper needs a dj, public enemy fresh prince run dmc lots more, so why pick on him, he was the first to scratch on a recording, that alone deserves a honour. the fact you said he plays records badly is a joke. u dont know nothin of a good dj.

  • Flash wasn't 1st to scratch. Grand Wizard Theodore was. He stole his name from Grandmaster Flowers. Yes, Flash was the first DJ to have his scratching recorded on a record, but that was more the success of the producer and engineer who recorded him. As for how he plays other peoples records, did you see how bad he screwed up their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame performance? Flash got totally lost in himself and forgot what they rehearsed. None of the Furious 5 knew what the hell he was doing.

  • Flash became a "legend" because Melle Mel & The Furious 5 spent their whole careers hyping him with the hit records they created. A bunch of hit records that Flash didn't write, didn't produce and didn't even participate on as a performer. Flash has got to be the most over-rated person in Hip-Hop history. He makes his living exploiting other peoples work. Always has, always will.

  • you must realy hate him or somethin, did he sleep with your wife. you make it sound like he had no part in all this when he clearly did. he might mess up sometimes, he's only human. maybe your just jealous of him.

  • you the 1 sounding mad homo for flash. you spend all your time getting all mad. you're the 1 responding to my posts seconds after i post them, to protect flash.

i never said flash played no part in any of this. i just said flash gets a ridiculous amount of credit for doing things he never did. he didn't invent dj'ing or scratching, he never wrote a hit single, never produced a hit record & never even performed on the hits he's most famous for. and he stole "grandmaster" from dj flowers.

  • every one likes to get last word. i realy do like flash but not in a homosexual way. ive got nothin but respect for him. he's an inspirational dj.what have you ever done to earn respect from the masses. your bitter and old, your a nobody, your a hater hateing on those more sucssesful than yourself. eat a dick up you slut.

  • lol looks like i touched a nerve. homo.

  • whats wrong with homosexuals like. it,s you that soudnds like you've got a dick in your arse. keep on replyin, ive got plenty more to say if you want to hear it dicklips.

  • is that the best you can do. your stuck in the past gay people came out of ther closets years ago, your still in yours, well its alrite u can come out now.

  • i got that the first time, cat got your tounge, ure soundin like a broken record player, homo, your not the only yank that likes that word. am not gay but am pround for them. you must not have sex life, people who dis gays or grandmaster flash dont have sex life's it's obvious. u should go get layed that might cheer you up.

  • "people who dis gays or grandmaster flash dont have sex life"

    ROFL

I'm not dissin' gays, just you. You're homo for Flash.

  • now your just turnin round what am sayin. cant u think for urself numskull. you should stop swallowing so much spunk its killin your inteligence. also you'l have to explain ROFL cause i havn't a clue what it means

  • by the way, u forget that grandmaster flash has one record he could claim as his own, the adventures of the wheels of steel, it's also a realy good record, the first of it's kind, even if it's just one record it's still some achievment to have. thats why he gets respect and honours, so eat a dick up. still dont know what ROFL means.

  • Ah, his book isn't called 'The Message" White line was relase3d without his knowledge, they used his name. Holla!

  • Flash was going to call his book "The Message". He originally put out press releases saying so. He changed his mind at the last minute because of the bad comments he was getting saying he was trying to exploit the work that Melle Mel & Duke Bootee did in making the record "The Message".

  • ANow a hiphop dj think that if he only play music he is not hiphop, that a hiphop dj must produce, but im not agree with that.

I THINK A HIPHOP DJ MUST HAVE RECORDS, AND 99% HIPHOP DJS TODAY DONT KNOW ABOUT BREAKS, DONT KNOW ABOUT FUNK.... AND THEY STILL THINK THEY ARE HIPHOP!!!!!!!!!

    RSSRSRSRS LET ME LAUGH PLEASE

DONT STOP Y´ALLLLLLLLLL(with a strong echo echo echo..)

  • Can't agree with you more...

  • whats the name of the song 7:16?

  • whats the name of the song 0:50?

  • what's the name of the last song??

  • It's Michael Jackson's don't stop till you get enough. Flash uses a vocal chant from MJ's Wanna be startin somethin' right @ the end though. Would love to catch Flash nxt time he is in Glasgow.
