Hey, i have one 20" and two 19" monitors and I'll try to get eyefinity or softth to work(5850 card). So, do the 20" monitors look fine at the smaller resolution of the 19" ones? 1280x1024- I'm concerned that if i have the 20" at 1680x1050, will the unmatched lines from monitor to monitor be a big offset? 19" are taller with 26 less pixels.

@nithPS2 Not sure if you can mix and match cards like that. Softh would have to pull from both sets of drivers. My best recommendation is upgrade to Win 7 and use that 5770 for eyefinity and all its glory. Dump XP

so i dont understand how softTH works 2 graphics cards have 2 ports to hook up vga or dvi right, so if this is software how do the 2 graphics cards connect to support 3 monitors (i understand with triplehead2go all 3 monitors plug into 1 box but i dont understand softTH) please help i would like to know

@casanova1135 The program files of SoftTh that you put in the games root directory (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft example) intercepts the game, re-renders it at the large display (5040x1050 example) then pushes the extra rendered area (left and right displays) over the PCIe bus to the other card that has the other 2 displays and displays on those monitors. great idea but puts all the rendering job on the single card

I run 2 BFG GTX280 video cards in SLI with a TripleHead2Go and their SGU utility and it runs flawlessly. 60 FPS on anything I can throw at it without even breathing heavily. My only complaint is some games, GRID for example, do not resize properly. For instance the menus are streched off the screen in order for the racing to look correct. Not sure why though.

I switched because every time I minimized WoW the damn game would crash. That and my machine only has 1 PCIe X16 so I had to use a x1 slot card which had horrible color rendering and was laggy.

That basically multiplies your field of vision by 3, which allows you to see around at more than like 180°

For a RPG, the immersion is then massive, but for like a FPS, this is SO usefull :p

Your field of vision stays the same. It is true that it has more pixels, but it is using more pixels to show the same amount of view, not extending it. So playing an FPS would not technically give you an advantage such as "seeing around corners," it just makes the gaming experience better if you like your surround vision.

ya it works great with recording...I have sonar pro on my machine and I can have my controller settings in one window, the recording program in another window and tabs or music or the camera in the third...for that application any two GPU's will work just fine...for gaming liek this you have to have a good main card and a decent second card to render everything

no you shouldnt have any issues at all...the catalyst drivers will see both cards and you'll configure 4 monitors just like two...windows can manage up to 10 I think

Do you know if it is possible to run the 3rd monitor on integrated(motherboard) graphics instead of a separate card? Because I have an x1950pro that I want to hook up to 1 or 2 monitors and I don't want to buy a new card to hook the 2nd or 3rd(haven't decided if i want to go dual or triple). My mobo has an x1250 or x1250pro integrated, which I think isnt too bad. I saw a video of some guy playing crysis with the x1250 integrated mobo and he was getting decent fps. Thnx for your help.

Well from what I understand about Mobo architecture, when you put in an Add in GPU (PCI,AGP or PCIe), it automatically disables the onboard video. Gaming in dual monitor will give you the monitor bezels in the middle of the screen...I would suggest getting a cheapo PCI video card on ebay and going that route.

ive got a Core 2 Duo E6300 (2.13ghz) with 4gbs of ram, single 8800GTS with the PNY 128mb. I would totally go SLI, but my motherboard doesnt have an extra x16 slot on it...next PC I build, im getting a tri-sli board, with two additional 8800GT cards run SLI and the whole nine yards
