  • that the aliens flying objects speed ...almost!

  • sure it's cool but because it levitates a few inches off the track, a simple brick would ruin your whole trip.

  • Made in China. Ride at your own risk!

  • @inefekt69 Actually it's made in Germany. QUOTE PHAIL!

  • @DIMATIF

It's actually spelt 'fail'. SPELLING FAIL!

  • I wonder what would happen if I stick my hand out the window at that speed?

  • It could go >500 km/h, but the distance is too short.

  • Wow for some reason that looked a lot faster than 430km/h, the new Veyron is supposed to be capable of going this fast on the road!

  • my family works for China Railway. German Transrapid only offers turnkey instead of transfering the maglev technology which we ask for. so the debate of maglev vs. wheel-based train was over. this is the first and last maglev train. Our new 380-Class train which cruises at 355kmh costs less than half of maglev.

  • German technology.

  • our country is bigger , which more deserves such a stuff.

  • You know had've there been no Dark Ages - this technology would be 500 years old and in everyday use...

  • i took this train before, it really rocks

Longyang Rd --> Pudong Int' Airport

30km within 7min is really quik . its even more faster den a taxi =p

yes, the ticket is not cheap to tell u the truth =x

heard that Shanghai is going to link their transport with Maglev soon, linking other cities.

  • -look, cars!

    -where?

    -it's gone

    -damn, not again

  • I CAN SEE FOREVER.

  • good

  • thats almost as fast as the pod racer from Star Wars.

  • At least you were lucky enough to travel on it at max speed. We only did 301 kmh but was still vaery impressive! We could have one in Britain but the poilticians would take about 100 years of talking about it before it even gets to the planning stage.

  • -Look!! A speeding Maglev!!

    -VUUUSSHH!!!

    -Where??

    hahah!!

  • lol

  • @cddagr Thats what happened to me when I was going to the airport to come here to Australia xD.

  • 430 km/h = 267 mph. That's about half the cruising speed of a typical jetliner.

  • i hope we get one of those in Israel!

  • i hope we get one in america

  • ya there too

  • oh dude, imagine a coast to coast maglev :P

(yeah i know its impossible) but how kick ass would that be :D

  • It's not impossible at all! All you need is a whole lot of activism. If the people want it they will get it.

Back in the late 1800s shortly after Canada was formed they promised to build a "Canadian Pacific Railway" to link all the provinces to get more to join. This is what got BC and the maritimes to join confederation. People wanted it so badly that they actually did it. It was just a regular old railway, but back then it was a huge feat. I could def see a maglev system implemented soon!! :)

  • I sincerely doubt a coast to coast Maglev would be implemented. The magnets would be WAY too costly in this economy.

Besides, it's kind of....Pointless, seeing how we can fly at 200 MPH faster than the Maglev can float.

  • Spoken like someone who's never been on a maglev.

These things are amazing, way better than plane travel. You don't have to wait in the airport, you get MUCH more space, MUCH less noise, scenery, stability, cheapness.

When I was traveling from Shenyang to Beijing in China, it was quicker to take the 250kph train than the plane because you don't have to check in early. It was much more enjoyable than any plane ride I ever took.

  • K, but listen. If everyone knew this was better than air travel, wouldn't everyone use this?

Besides, the tracks used for the MagLev are WAY WAY too expensive to use as a large-scale transportation method.

  • Even though 1/4 of the world's population already use it as their main form of transport?

You don't know what you're talking about, so just stop.

  • But that's NOT on a large scale. :S

  • YOu mean 6000 kilometers with another 10 000 kilometers planned isn't large scale?

  • Magnets. Aren't. Cheap.

16,000 KM of magnets isn't very efficent when you can just fly or whatever.

  • Again, you don't know what you're talking about.

  • (100 000 000$) per (1) kilometre !!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Denisu07 wikipedia (maglev):

The United States Federal Railroad Administration 2003 Draft Environmental Impact Statement for a proposed Baltimore-Washington Maglev project gives an estimated 2008 capital costs of 4.361 billion US dollars for 39.1 miles, or 111.5 million US dollars per mile (69.3 million US dollars per kilometer)

    and:

The only low-speed maglev (100 km/h) currently operational, the Japanese Linimo HSST, cost approximately US$100 million/km to build.

  • @uorder: sorry, you're right. I read the article again and that's something else. China is developing a vactrain which will travel at 1,000 kilometers per hour through maglev lines in tubes underground. The tunnel would cost 10 to 20 million yuan (US$2.95 million) MORE than the current high speed railway for each kilometer. My bad..

  • @RedPanther1 Keep on dreaming bro, America is too much in Debt to afford that kind of technology.

  • @ShadowBoarder33 dam man...........but i still think we will get it........TAXES BRO taxes.....we will have no choice.....we get it or we get it.......your money or their money....america will have one : ) . ......someday youll say..."hey i paid for 1/10000th of the rail with my own hard earned cash......please reply so we can DEBAT ABOUT THIS

  • @RedPanther1 Americans have no money to build maglev trains because the american govenment is currently taxing its people to send more soldiers to afghanistan. America is spending more money for warlike purposes not to develop itself. While on the other hand Europeans and Asians are taking the lead. Do you know what that means it means that money is not being spread evenly across the US, therefore more US markets will be foreced to close down resulting in more unemployment and gradual starvation

  • @RedPanther1 US is currently heavily in debt. A country like the US is supposed to have money in excess NOT DEBTS. The solution would be, why cant the US government be real and bring back the troops home, concentrate on using its money for warlike purposes to develop itself instead. On the contrary the US is spending more money and its depts is increasing. Which means that there is a greater probability that the US will have 0% developments in the future resulting in a starving country by 2050

  • @RedPanther1 crooked oil cartels in america and the politicians whom they control with the use of lobbyists will never let this come to the usa.

  • @RedPanther1 if greedy and ignorant politicians have their way, it will be a cold day in hell before we get one of these. Petroleum companies will simply line their pockets in order for them to say whatever they can to prevent it. Think of the healthcare debate and you will see what I mean

  • @RedPanther1 not as long as your government wastes money bombing the poorest countries on earth in the name of "democracy"...

  • woww....!That was fast man... Hopefully we will get this in Malaysia

  • speeeeeeeeeeed

  • I hope there will be a maglev that can outspeed the Boeing 747 one day :)

  • It's normal traveling speed is 300+ km/h (forgot inbetween numbers). I took this Shanghai Maglev Train before in Dec 2007. The train/train tracks are actually being tiled when coming to a turn.

  • Not very pratical for use, too expensive to construct and very environment UNfriendly

  • I don't think so.

  • How is it environmentally unfriendly?

  • I hope that was a joke

  • van ik zou londen metro tot maglev om bouwen

  • i not like. this not fast enough, i like very much faster, when i was in hong kong i have fast and train was fast, i like fast train

  • If this train is not fast enough for you, then maby you should stand 50 cm of the track on the point where the train hits 430 km/h. Then we will see if you still thinks this train isn't fast enough.

  • this was a reply on Ulvyngling

  • No train in commercial service is faster than this one on this planet. I guess you must had the faster ride not in Hongkong, Earth, in Hongkong, Mars maybe.

  • Rode it, nice ride, notice the typical Shanghai "fog"

  • Comercial maglev only in China

  • "If a god damn goat?? On an elevated maglev track ?? dont be so god damn stupid , you fucking nonce.

  • if a god damn goat crosses in front of the train, i bet no one would survive, including the goat.

things on the ground going this fast can't be too safe.

  • hahahahaha a goat? i dont see how one would get onto the track. It is the safest form of transport provided a goat dosent cross the train LOL.

  • zzddytt

our a dumbass! How would a goat get onto a elevated track? Do goat's have wings where you come from?

  • The transrapid 08 (Shanghai) is designed for speeds up to 550 km/h., e.g. when the guidway will be extended from Shanghai to Hanghzou. The Japanes Maglev is planned for commercial speeds around 500 km/h, this is economical seen the optimum speed for maglevs. Maglev-speed depends only on length of the guideway, maximum "comfort-acceleration-speed" for passengers, innercity noise abatement, economical factors (24h availibility, energie). The result: 431 km/h in Shanghai.

  • lol theres a faster train that can go up to 581km/h in japan, but its still currently test.

  • Maglev can go at the speed of a fighter aircraft (well over 1000mph) but it becomes too dangerous for passengers and the public. The fact that it floats mean that there is no friction to slow it down.

  • Holy crap! The MagLev's are beating everyone else :|

  • I mean the video tape...

  • Not the best quality, but a new, very good perspective.

  • 431 km is its cruising speed. it keeps accelerating. and it starts to decelerate because road ends. It is a great machine.

  • very good. we should need such schnell magnetic train in my country, Sweden, i.e between Kalmar und Emmaboda.

    es wäre great!

  • coooool

  • Wow, SUPA SPEED

  • i luv he maglev! ive been on it once!!!

  • i can sh&*(#!t my pants if i travel with 430 kmh :D:D

  • Mate, I'm going to get on that train one day and be amazed by its ground speed of 431 kilometres an hour! Shanghai MagLev Train, you're a bloody legend.
