you didnt really have to kep back tracking to the valhalla to complete the game..... you could just ignore that mission till you get all the necessary energy cells (which are a pain to find without the ships hints but the hints arent really necessary to find the sufficient amount)

Would I need to played Prime 1 & 2 to understand the plot for 3? Or can I still have fun with it without playing the first 2?

Metroid seems awesome, like one of those series, to me, like Zelda and Halo combined (Just a little though) With the aliens, first person shooting, Samus looks left handed since the guns on her right (Links a left), I forgot the other reason for zelda...

And the fact when I heard of Samous was in Brawl, played her thinking she was a guy, got a smash ball, ooooh was I surprise to she she was a girl, I said "Wtf?!" I paused, looked at her, then said "Yep, thats a girl"

honestly i like this much more than U do. its my favourite wii game(if metroid prime trilogy doesn't count)

I thought MP1 was okay, MP2 was much better and MP3 was AWESOME! The whole beginning felt like one huge interactive cinema scene and I kind of see how cjszero01 liked the beginning but not much of the rest of the game, but I loved the whole game overall, I enjoyed interacting with the characters, the whole thing about developing the history and characteristics of Phazon, and the graphics are great, some of the gameplay controls are a little flawed but still really good

The whole Space Pirate Homeworld part was VERY action-packed.

Also, you only really have to visit the Valhalla once.

To be honest I'm more interested in seeing what team ninja does with Other M. A change in gameplay mechanics is what I'm looking forward to in this series.

Personally I think the original metroid prime is the best, simply for the fact that it Got it right on the first try. Exploration at it's best.

But yes CJ, I agree with you.

I truly thought they were heading towards more excitement with the latest installment, however I don't dislike it for this.

They didn't really blend the action and isolation exploration gameplay that well, it just flip flopped unconventionally.

That reason is why I prefer metroid prime 1 over 3.

But yes, youre point is solid

Because it was introducing such an exciting intro only to be brought back down to the lonely travels. I know Metroid is more about exploring, (that's why I agree that it is more of a first person adventure game rather than a First person shooter) but a little more excitement than just fighting the pirates and local species would've been nice, which is why I'm really looking forward to Metroid Other M.

well its not a first person shooter but a first person adventure as the developers will tell you. its a bout exploring and learning the planets history. sort of like bioshock.

u complain a lot about action, but metriod has never really been a action type game, its more about the exploring and the... other shit. (like reading all the lore and backstory for places)

if you let me say exploration and backtracking were the elements that made metroid games great in the first place that's why it doesn't slow down the action and if it does it is a necessary slow down in order to be a metroid ( of course you can't abuse those elements or the game will definetly suck but here those elements are not overused)

I mean action wise, at the beginning there's a huge invasion, at the end there's a huge invasion, inbetween you fight alien life on their own planet with barely any story elements except the bounty hunters.

Be thankful, there was only text in the original MP, text that had to be scanned of the walls or computers, wheras in MP 2 and 3 there are cutscenes with... Voice Acting.

Then again every generation I've played has been fantastic from the fourth (SNES) all the wy to the 7th (Wii), Nintendo also do a good job of learning from past mistakes unlike Square Enix, FFX *shudders*.
