One thing that makes Mechanix better than The 4 Horsemen is the aggressive attitude that Dave displays, like when he's spazzing out at 2:22. I believe thrash is mostly about the "Fuck you" rebellious attitude. Sure, some people will say that the latter version with Kirk is better cause it sounds cleaner, I can see that; but personally, I like this version better live and studio even if the solo is kind of sloppy in this; after all, everyone is drunk off their asses.

The two songs were ride the lightning (which was suppose to be on kill em all believe it or not) and the call of ktulu originally called "when hell freezes over" However dave didn't write the solo's for either songs but only the main riff in ride the lightning, and the spider chord. plus the opening to the call of ktulu.
