  • finally a proper race in da usa!! you'll come out brighter to opening up to the world!!! i never been to the US and this even would be a good opportunity!!! coming from a f1, motogp and wrc fan!!!

  • Just get the track ready in time Austin, because "WE ARE COMING!!!"

  • cant wait for austin, cant wait for NY..good this is a f1 fans wet Dream, NEW YORK HERE I COME!!!!!!!!

  • I'd love to see NASCAR coming to this track. And I don't care what you guys say about NASCAR like: left turn... , heavy cars, sport for rednecks and so on

I enjoy F1 and NASCAR because both sports take lots of skill.

  • @BoogityBogityBoogity

still is a bunch of pricks taking eachother out on an oval. does take skill but is bullshit.

  • @raceinterface2

I agree about the dirty racing.

I am a huge NASCAR fan, but this shit is pissing me off

  • I can't freaking wait for this!!! Just made living around Austin THAT much better. Sooo stoked!!!

  • 100% true about Austin not being like Texas. When our stupid governor was talking about secession, Austinites were talking about seceding from Texas! Perhaps California is a better match for Austin.

  • @leetee97 soooo true. i'm from southern california, but i have to visit my family in texas every year. i try to spend as much time in austin as possible when i'm there haha.

  • I can't wait for this race, the track looks like it should be awesome.

Can someone explain what a "Redneck" actually is? The stereotype that I have heard is that they drive pickup trucks and have sexual intercourse with members of their own family, but I'm sure this isn't the case obviously.

  • People look at racing in America and think of ignorant, brainwashed, red neck fucks that don't know anything. Even more so when people think of Texas. But believe me, as a born and raised Austinite, I can tell you that Austin is probably the most misplaced cultured cities in the world. It's like you're not even in Texas when you're in Austin. It's just different, you can't describe it. People in Austin love things like F1, where if you go 100 miles east they would prefer NASCAR.

  • I live in Austin. Can't wait. And other then being hot as a Mo-Fo...Austin ROCKS.!!!

  • Texas aint full of rednecks you pricks we'r right next to Mexico for fucks sakes where i live its a awesome melting pot, I love Texas yall just mad cuz we'r practically a country of our own yall wish you were as big as us. Suck a fat chode!

  • the race is back on. brilliant news. i really look forward to watching cars go round the track. it looks a stunner

  • Bernie Ecclestone said "Race in Austin 2012 is cancled" :(

Maybe we get Imola or A1 Ring :D

  • @zzaaggaa The race is sign, payed for, and on the schedule for 2012!

  • @F1Austin Oh Ya Baby!!!!

  • I really doubt they are gonna get this track built. The state of texas is now backing out a bit ecclstone is demanding they sign a contract for 2012 next week and construction has stopped. It ain't looking good....

  • @JRRacing64 Bernie just signed the contract. November 2012 in Austin, Tx. It's happening

  • @joca40 I'm glad to be wrong then, lol.

  • I Really hope this round goes ahead for the V8Supercars in 2013 I hope this dispute gets sorted as soon as possible....

  • So stoked for this track and formula one in North America... Texas in 2012 and possibly Manhattan in 2013.. Finally, something besides stock car racing in United States...

  • USA still kicks some ass.

  • Welcome F1 To Austin.

  • This is sad and confusing. USA, renown to be the world's wealthiest nation but they end up with this rubbish track in a rubbish redneck city, WTF? Look at the Shanghai circuit and facilities, that's world class. And wtf is with the "Circuit of the Americas"? As if it represents the entire continent

  • @IchiTrois

Rubbish redneck city? Evidently you've never been to Austin, bud.

  • i have spread the word!

  • The F1 is back to USA, just to bring a little, european culture to all those rednecks and hillbillies who enjoy fat belly-ass white trash racing: NASCAR.

  • @gnapalm

Hahaha, it's funny because you're stupid.

  • @Sparkz49 thats not what your mom say last night...duuuuuuuuuuuuuude

  • @gnapalm

Wow...uh...what? I-I'm sorry. That one caught me off guard.

  • @Sparkz49 xactly! thats what your mom said last night! jajajajaja dumbass!!!

  • @gnapalm

    Your idiocy. It astounds me.

  • haha love the primal description of Formula one by that guy xD

    Responde

  • I thought they were going to show a preview of the track, not the entire city

  • Guys guys guys why all the hatin?! This is awesome!

  • Hell ya.

  • I mean, my street is designed for use for motor power and human power too. Just sayin

  • I HOPE NASCAR USE THIS RACE CIRCUIT!!! :DDD

  • @rOxEs87 Nascar is boring!!!

  • @Klemped I THOUGHT THAT IAM THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD WHO FIND NASCAR BORING . I VE NEVER I'VE NEVER FINISHED A RACE WITHOUT ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • the level of ignorance in these comments is really fucking high

  • @JohnPetrucci251 true true, but I at least know how to spell "you're" ;)

  • It will be 85 in the morning and likely sunny on that 110 degree day. Best time to ride/drive anyway.

  • Interesting. I'm curious how all this turns out.

  • Hopefully they'll have a Formula Drift round at this track once it opens

  • @FATLACE420

hopefully it'll be open to public for racing =D

  • All I can say is: too bad it's in Texas. What a shit state.

  • @1mrbikerman1 haha

  • @1mrbikerman1 and your an ignorant fuck

  • @1mrbikerman1 Yankee scum...

  • @1mrbikerman1 Well... I'd say that Austin is a bit different from the majority of the state. Given that a massive school like UT is here, plus a lot of the graduating students stay due to the decent job market (lots of tech stuff), it has a large variety of people giving it a nice vibe. Not to mention SXSW, Austin City Limits... and now F1... :)

  • viva FERRARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • This is about 1/50th of the track Id like to build.

  • NYC would be great

  • If your looking for great properties to invest in I have wonderful townhomes in a country club setting just 8 minutes to downtown and 15 minutes to the track. Easy access from the airport. They are not presently in MLS. Contact me if you or you know someone looking for a great place to buy a place here in Austin for the races.

  • Texas has great infrastructure, the highways there are incredible especially compared to the rest of the country. People are nice, this track is going to be a huge success, Austin is already a great city, this is the best thing that could have happened for them. I would consider relocating there.

  • Well done to Texas. It's about time F1 went back to the US. It's a global sport now, the US should also be regularly hosting a race. Looking forward to watching the GP broadcast from there next year.

  • I live in Texas! I can go to every f1 race from now on!

  • Hell yeah! Finally I'll get to see my favoriate sport and racers close to home and in my home state.

  • @sumthingsick123 you are the dumbest person i have seen on youtube. what this will do is bring all of the F1 fans from the US, easily enough to fill out the stands, along with foreigners from europe and asia and will provide a huge boost in tourism and business for the city of Austin, not to mention the many celebrities that are drawn to the glamour of F1. They will easily make their money back in 2 F1 races, not to mention the Moto GP, V8 Supercars and other races that will occur. nascar is gay

  • This is good for all sorts of racing. F1, V8 Supercars, MotoGP, and Nascar can all come to this track and race. There will be more than enough room in the year to run the races and plenty of people willing to come watch. Grand-Am, American LeMans, and hell maybe even the Race of Champions could run there. Looking at the graphic the track looks totally badass and challenging. I can't see any driver daring to turn that track down or be called a scaredy cat.

  • @MierDv I would like to see nascar race here.

  • @MierDv can nascar actually drive round a proper corner?

  • @shy0dusk Sure same way Team Corvette won the GT class at Le Mans this year.

  • fuck ya this is my home town....

  • hopefully this will bring more f1 coverage on speed and less fucking nascar. but im soooo excited! holy crap!

  • Bravisimo,Bravo Bravo!!!!!!!! i think this is a very very fast track like the Italian grand prix some very frustraiting curves for the pilots like the circuit of nurburgring in Germany and monaco i like the elevation at the start of the circuit like the spa-francorchamps in Belgium i lke the trazado, very well very very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chondescount I can't wait for next year. it's going to be a great year for racing. hopefully NASCAR and Indy car series come to this track soon :D

  • @BobbyRossRacing93 im not agree with your coment about the nascar may come to this track,i cant imagine,i cant think about those heavy slow nascar cars turnning the beautiful curves of the circuit,i mean those nascar cars are so heavy and slow i think, anyway whatever THE F1 BACKS TO US YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chondescount They might be heavy but they are not slow. I would hope the track would cater to all sorts of racing including NASCAR, Grand Am, and American LeMans. Widen your perspective it's a road course and that's just good racing.

  • @MierDv no no no no, never mention NASCAR in a video like this

  • @MierDv Don't ever mention NASCAR ever. You'll attract the rednecks.

  • @wiithepeople2 you scared of them? how about their deep pockets and the money that comes the sponsors they attract, you scared of that too?

Do you want this track to be successful so that other racing that you enjoy will have a place to race or do you want to continue to be arrogant and snobbish.

  • @MierDv I would love to see this track be successful. However, I believe that this track is definitely not a NASCAR-inspired track by any means. Sure, you have Watkins Glen and Infineon Raceway to look to, but this is more or less a track made SPECIFICALLY to host a MotoGP or F1 race. Also, there is a NASCAR track in Ft. Worth and they've been successful for years, hosting two races in a single season at one point, so why would NASCAR want to change that?

  • Actually this track looks promising, Tilke learned his lesson and designed a deadly track.

There will be overtaking opportunities, and I think plenty of them because there are really fast corners, and few slow after straights, add KERS system and you have something really special + high temp. will make pirelli tyres degradation even bigger, what will make the team strategies even more exciting.

    As European I'm jealous.

Well done America, and now I know where Austin is, I will visit one day.

  • @MegaMat84 why would you wan't to visit Texas? it is a shit hole full of rednecks

  • @777Sticks1 How dare you say that. It's not full of rednecks... It's full of Mexicanos!!!! AKA "La Raza"

  • Where exactly is this? Anyone with GPS coordinates?

  • @duhstar2 Google earth my friend.

  • I'm an Austinite and I think this is huge for this city. Austin taxpayers will pay NOTHING for this and it is likely to bring hundreds of thousands of people to Austin (most of which are from different countries). Our economy is going to swell with this here. Plus, as a city with 800,000+ people, its growth is not slowing.

  • @larrytickles22 I think it will finally give San Antonio a run for its money for good.

  • @sumthingsick123 HAHAHAHAHAA.

  • Fuck yeah!!! Moto GP & F-1, Can't wait. these are the biggest racing sports in the world.

  • I can't freakin wait for F1...

  • Lot of people are gonna lose their homes because of this, could'nt they have chosen Houston or Dallas? But I guess thats out problem, I guess I better find a better job then. The value of the whole city will be too high for some of us.

  • Comment removed

  • @DollyDrearest No but the people moving in will eventually live in Austin. I mean I have no problem with tourists but I don't know, maybe I'm just overwhelmed of how much a town grows really quickly. Sry if I offended anyone.

  • there gonna screw austin with celeberties, and paparazzis...

  • @normal225 pretty sure Austin gets a lot of that already with events like SXSW and ACL...and its not like it will be downtown. If you live in the actual "city" part of Austin, you probably wouldn't even notice it.

    Its "they're" not "there" btw.

  • @tastesawesome so i wont notice all of the hotels/motels expected to be full from San Antonio to Temple? btw..the traffic is horrible during SXSW and ACL, imagine it then.

  • @normal225 i'd like to think that it is a problem austin would like to have. but then again, an urban rail will be good to address this issue. the people visiting during the race will not come in driving into town. if anything the biggest issue would be how to get people visiting from downtown to the races. an urban rail is about the most sensible option.

  • @tastesawesome the f1 tracks are just about 15 minutes away from downtown. i doubt that these "celebrities" will not choose to visit Austin's downtown. Austin already has a reputation and it certainly will drive all of these celebrity types into the city. In fact, I'm willing to bet that most of these celebrities will stay in the downtown hotels. Which brings up the question of an urban rail... they'll want a route that takes them directly to the F1 tracks. this has already been proposed.

  • @sumthingsick123 A local race group is already covering most of the cost, other than the 20m, and the expected return is supposed to be around 400m (per year?). Look around, there are plenty of videos on YouTube. I'm done arguing with you. If you hate F1 so much, why do you even bother watching these videos.

  • @sumthingsick123 And F1 is bigger in the REST OF THE WORLD. NASCAR has a total of 16 million viewers in it's LARGEST series, the Sprint Cup. Formula 1 had over 527 million viewers through it's series. So if you love NASCAR so much, why don't you just go to a video of NASCAR circles instead of commenting crap on a Formula 1 track. And if you didn't look at the rest of the comments, almost all of them agree that this is a good thing.

  • @sumthingsick123 You have no idea how big F1 is.

  • "Americas" a little to pompous in my opinion as it would not be the only circuit in the Americas... Anyways good job Austin!

  • Hank Hill disliked this cause he wanted a nascar track.

  • omg this is going to be insane ever been to Dallas stadium?

  • cant wait

  • @machoverspeed There is no such thing as 95% humidity at 110F.

  • I see this is funded by the taxpayers.

So this is why we're laying off teachers all over the state!

I guess this is the good kind of socialism.

  • So glad I'm in Austin. I can't wait for MotoGP.

  • Comment removed

  • @steelskyblue have you ever gotten laid?

  • @machoverspeed

Night races in F-1 and MGP were planned just to ease the audience in Europe, F-1 and MGP have both successfully raced in the desert at day ligth with plenty more hot than in Texas, racetracks like Hungaroring, Interlagos, Valencia, Qatar and Bahrain hold races at really hot temperatures with no problem

  • @Semeiron

i think he meant it as audience wise... Ill still be there even at 120F

  • This will be like a spring break x10!!!

  • Went to Indianapolis for the fist MotoGp in 2008, Seem I have to do this on as well

  • unless they get cracking hard, round the clock, this will end up like korea all over again, there is no way in hell that track will be ready, i have been wrong before.

  • I hope this is successful! I already have the MotoGP race down. Gotta go see that.

  • OH man. Plus they can bring touring car racing here too. I cannot wait to see this wonderful track completed. It would also be interesting to see the NASCAR *should be NAMCAR* boys run on this track.

  • Can't wait! I live in Downtown Austin so I'm pumped for it all. (:

  • Austin is also known as an earth friendly freaks who want to keep our town small and free of polluting loud cars and bikes.... Why this? Why here? I don't get it. SXSW is bad enough with the rape it does to Austin for a whole week. Now this? Sigh. Sorry I can not be excited at all...

  • @steelskyblue Move to San Fran if that's how you feel.

  • @StabyMcStabsFace I have been here since 1996.... why am I moving because f1 decides to poop all over Austin??

  • @steelskyblue you do realise that we use mor energy and resources in our own homes then we do driving to work/school/wherevere in cars?

do you...not like to have fun, let me guess, you dis-like football because it promotes "physical violence" give me a break dude, you can hate f1, or any cars. and just so ya know, it may "poop" over austin, but it will provide jobs, economic boosts, income, tourism. need i go on?

  • @Rcrby525 Tens of thousands of teachers across the state are getting the axe, so that you can get a job cleaning up trash and hosing down seats. Sounds like a bargain.

When jobs are slashed and taxes raised in order to give rich people hundreds of $millions in gifts, is that socialism?

  • @steelskyblue The track will be near Austin airport not in downtown Austin like sxsw. And one 747 flight will pollute more than 22 f1 cars over a race weekend.

  • @steelskyblue SXSW is a great festival for our economy... your an idiot if you think it "rapes" austin. get out of your prius and shut the fuck up.. This race and future races are great for austin.

  • @johnbuckley89 yes calling me names and telling me to shut up totally refutes my point of view and means you're right. I could not agree more. By the way only idiots misspell "you're" as "your" :-)

  • @steelskyblue great argument... basically all you said was you*re upset for being called names and i misspelled one word. You're going far in life i can tell

  • Blegh @ Dorna. Going to new circuits and abandoning old legends. Asking loads of money for MotoGP events... good way to ruin the sport. WSBK is more entartaining,

  • 2 hours from home. Amazing, finally some real motor sports close to me. effin NASCAR can suck it.

  • YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES THANK GOD!!!

  • Great that the USA finally gets a F1 status track... Also the cherry on top is that MotoGP is coming in 2013... Cannot wait to see it get done... Let go REAL racing!!!

  • GPF1 Montréal tickets 514-781-3444

  • It's about time! :)

  • Been going to Montreal for years, cannot wait to bring my money to Austin.
