  • Keyboards make it much better. This is so much better than the original version, in my opinion. It's hard for me to even listen to the original.

  • WORLDS better than the original

  • I actually liked the keyboards in it...

  • The keyboard ruins it. They should have stuck with the classic.

  • I'm not as familiar with this version. I've heard the original many times. Now I know why.

  • I love this song. But I hate when the band plays the acoustic version during the concert, they should be playing the electric version instead!

  • @HawgRyder1 I AGREE! I this was the ONLY part of the concert that pissed me off! I had been looking forward to seeing them for many years, and my fav song was fucked up! But the rest of the concert was awesome! They sounded great! Pissed tho that the original concert was supposed to be Styx and REO,but since they cancelled that one, when they DID play months later, they replaced THEM with Billy Idol,it was pretty good, bvut STILL have never seen Styx YET!

  • @HawgRyder1 I kind of like the hybrid version they do live. I've seen them do the all acoustic and the all electric version...but the hybrid where they do the acoustic first and then the "NO!" part in the full rock mode.

To me the acoustic allows Joe to rest his voice, gets the crowd to interact and sing along...and also show that yes...Def Leppard can actually sing....while some people still think they lip synch

  • love this song reminds me of an ex in the gd times haha brings gd times for me

  • Favorite version of this song. Sounds like it belongs on Pyromania.

  • i think i like this one better then the other bringin on the heartbreak the one with all guitar no keybords but every one has there own tastes

  • Ruined it for 'us' ! 'Hard Rock forever"!

  • 2:14 sounds like Nightmare on Elm Street (also summerish '84)

I like the chorus section's keys - creepy - but still like the original better overall.

They didnt have to remix the drums/guitars though and put keys in every verse. Takes away the punch of the original.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I knew there was a version of this song with keyboards but I couldn't find it to save my life. Thank you for assuring me I'm not going crazy.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I thought I remembered there being a version of this song with keyboards but I couldn't find it to save my life. Thanks you for letting me know I'm not crazy!

  • was the remix mostly for the video? sure does sound like it

  • steve clark, slash, and jimmy page made me pick up a les paul. i dont regret it, i play the hell outta it 5 hours a day, it never gets old

  • never heard this verson, mutt lang must of been creative that day lol

  • Def Leppard Is Greats My Favorite Band Ever BRINGING ON THE HEARTBREAK YEAH!

  • this version is better than without the keyboard. golly the 80's were awesome.

  • 80's rock!!!!

  • I liked the keyboard when I first heard this. I don't understand why they changed it in the DVD.

  • P..I.P steve clark 1960-1991

  • greatest band in the world

  • there's rick allen the greastest drummer alive

  • The keyboard kind of distracts me from the aspects that made me like the original in the first place.

  • Agreed!

  • @MeatMachineStudios sorry, but DL could sing the phone book, and it would sound good, they are the best thing to come outta England since the BEATLES! I have loved them since I was 6! And I can hear their songs over and over, and they never get old!

  • that damn keyboard gets annoying! lol dun dun dun nuh nuh nuh nuh! lol

  • havnt seen this b4 but kul

  • I actually like both versions but if I did have a preference, I like the (19)84 version because Phil Collen was in the band by the time and Pete Willis was gone. (No disrespect intended on my behalf).

  • To clear up some mis-understandings. This video came out in 1984 when they remixed this song w/ me and my wine to sell re-issued copies of high n dry (while riding the wave of Pyromania)All Def Lep DVD's that have come out have the '81 music on the '84 video, that's why it looks the same to some. I took this off of the original "Historia" VHS from 1987. Also for those who think Mutt Lange ruined Def Lep, I think over 16 million copies sold of "Hysteria" might clear up your perception.

  • @smokeaphatredbull and never mind the fact he was in high n dry, pyromania, hysteria..and some adrenalize..did promises from euphoria and someother random others i can't remember..and pyromania and hysteria made def leppard one of the only 5 rock bands to go platinum multiple times (its something close to that) love mutt and the lepps =]

  • @smokeaphatredbull You gotta remember, a lot of these ppl on here, were NOT EVEN BORN when this was out! I'm 35 and GREW UP listening to DL! Finishing the circle last year, taking my 11 yo to a DL concert, and was I a proud mama,my girl knew every word to every song!? I remember when MTV showed videos! Every week, they did a battle on which video was best,I rem. when it was Photograph, for like weeks in a row! My older cousin made me recall all the names of DL and M.Crue,oh, the good ol days!

  • I like the High n' Dry version better, without the keyboards in there...

  • The video is alot the same isnt it? I've never really heard this version though, it sounds pretty good, different, but good.

  • Oh gawd... this is what ruined this band. KEYBOARDS, gated drums... TOO MUCH PRODUCTION!

The First two records a excellent. I sometime wonder how great Pyromania would have been had Mutt not ruined it. The riffs and songs on Pyromania are top notch... but this version of BotHb shows how adding more doesn't always help.

  • Mutt had an ear for the times....if the production was like the first two albums then Pyromania would sound dated....i like the style of High n Dry but it is dated for the late seventies/ very early nineties....i do agree that this remix is not that good but it was done, i imagine, to fit in with the times....

  • If Mutt had not ruined it????????????

Mutt WAS the reason for Pyro.

He sang a MAJORITY of the backing vocals, had a big hand in composition of the songs.......

the album wouldve sounded like OTTN w/o Mutt.

and that's not a good thing.

  • Mutt also produced High 'N Dry

  • It's good to see someone who knows their Def Leppard. I always read that the band considered "Mutt" to be the 6th "unofficial Leppard". I think they made a lot of great music together. D/L deserves more respect than what they have ever gotten. When I was in Junior and High School and beyond they ruled and I bought everything they put out. BTW I like both versions of "B.O.T.H."(isn't it funny the acronym of the song is BOTH? Coincidence? I hope they get inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame soon!

  • lol

  • Hehe wow, how young do they all look here!! Just seen them in Birmingham UK, they're still awesome and still rocking hard today :o)

Thanks for posting this vid :O)

  • the remix is awesome
