  • Just ordered one today.. :)

  • @starfall00 That's awesome. I am now starting to eye the 80+ Platinum PSU's being readied for launch. Should be some good stuff!

  • What`s the price for this 1200W PSU?!?!?!

  • @CHiDvDFu link in description.

  • how come PSU's with high wattages never have a on/off switch? does anybody know why?

  • @girondi1

Couldn't tell you, but for the most part they are more or less redundant anyways. I do not dwell...

  • @girondi1 The reason for not having a power switch off/on button on the back of the supply unit is mostly because of the cases they use for high end gaming will have a on/off switch intergrated into the case and the power wires can be routed to that button. Hope this helps

  • Initial reviews starting to come in... These PSUs are right up there with the Antec/Corsair/Seasonic gold units. They should be slightly less expensive at most retailers as well. Win-win...competition is awesome.

  • Sorry, but I'll take a Corsair AX1200 over this unit any day. Cables sleeved with an inch of exposed rainbow color cables is ugly. Capacitor on the PCI are gimmicky at best. Lets see what those inline capacitors do in future reviews.

Silverstone and Enhance late to the party finally cranked out a "Gold" PSU. Silvertone makes really good cases and PSUs.

At this level and wattage, my money is with Corsair and Antec.

  • @tiphu

Fair enough. So far I am really happy with this PSU, and I am taking a chance by not waiting on a review first, but I felt like giving it a chance! :)

I dont mind the colour coated wires... Im likely going to resleeve them anyways.

  • @Cyrekk0 Appreciate the unboxing though! I owned 2 Silverstone Striders before and have nothing but praise for them. Like I said, they are late to the party, but Silverstone may have all there ducks in row and hit a homerun with this one. Enjoy that monster PSU, I hope you have enough hardware to give it work out.

  • @Cyrekk0

Future plans include the possibility of 2x6990's :)

  • @Cyrekk0

If I'm not mistaken, your video is the first to preview this psu. it's good for silverstone die hard fans who would swear on their quality build and performance. But tiphu does have good points there. silverstone really need to do something with those fugly rainbow color cables. face palm, aesthetic phail

  • @metsatsu

    just sleeve it :)

  • @tiphu

    also thx :)

  • Are you using a full tower casing (eg. HAF)? if so, if we were to use both EPS connectors to power up the motherboard, will the shorter one be long enough to reach? coz AFAIK, the shorter one is a mere 550m and the longer one is 750mm (wtf) from the silverstone's specs sheet. Btw, great unboxing video. would be better if you had a good camcorder.

  • @metsatsu

I am using the HAF X case, but I have not installed the PSU yet, when I do the installation I will be sure to check on the lengths for you x58 folks :)

Unfortunately I am just starting to do video work and cant afford an extremely high quality camera for it, but that being said, I am not used to this camera and had no one else to operate it, so I expect quality to improve with it when I get more used to using it, and have a camera guy to get the wide shots while I do my thing :)

    thx!
