@brenthecoolster thoise are called sharps, means that the note indicated is half a step higher, you do them by pressing and holding shift and then putting the note, and BTW there is the flat that looks like a b which means it is half a step lower you do that one by pressing ctrl and then putting the note. it's simpler than what it sounds :P
