...For this was Sir Walter Scott's country. This sketch always makes me cry with laughter, especially where Cleese hacks in with a Morry Thou, and grabs the mike.
British comedy gave us this great sketch and at the same times makes me think of one thing whenever I hear Devil's Ralop: the Surprising Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar! ^^
Now finally, they have found a way to make documentaries interesting enough for me to stay tuned. AND no less than two documentaries at the same time! That's what I call multitasking : D
How come EVERY SINGLE monty python video has thousands of comments along the lines of "The Brits really know humour!"? It's not that they were British, it's that they were geniuses.
@Flophole not to totally dismiss your comment, but the style of comedy of the Pythons is more common in Britain than in the US. This isn't to say there are other groups identical to the pythons, but stylistically british comedy is closer.
i think once we've got 9999999 channels and there still is nothing on and no more channels are avalable this is what we will be seeing, 99999999 channels and two thing to see on every one
Now.........there's a thought for a "reality" series involving "How to be the next T.V reporter" just put a bunch of prima donnas in front of the camera and fight over the microphone,.................Monty Python style.
What's funny is how three of the boys actually ended up doing documentaries.
I wonder if they ever sit there during a set-up for a scene and chuckle to themselves about the irony of having spoofed them in their youth just to end up doing them for real later on.

I completely agree - I could be mistaken, but I believe Flying Circus happened largely because John wanted to work with Michael when they were both getting ready to do separate comedy shows. They're my favorites.
This was the first ever Monty Python sketch I saw when I was a young teen, I had just switched the channels to see the end of the previous sketch. No lie, I had tears of laughter and was gasping for air by the end of this sketch.
Ohmygod I thought I was going to die while watching this. I hadn't seen this in awhile. I really WAS rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. One of my all time faves.

That's dedication to craft, because there's no way in hell I'd do a scene where I had to hang out of a weaving, moving car and grab at anything from another moving car, even if it was only going a few mph. Michael is so very lucky he didn't slip or that neither driver didn't have to suddenly brake.
