  • " A treeline treasure trove...NOOO!"

    So cute!

  • ...For this was Sir Walter Scott's country. This sketch always makes me cry with laughter, especially where Cleese hacks in with a Morry Thou, and grabs the mike.

  • I love the bite to @ 0:45

  • I will never stop to laugh watching this sketch! Brilliant!!!

  • real stunt men!

  • If PBS took this approach they'd definitely reel in the viewers!

  • British comedy gave us this great sketch and at the same times makes me think of one thing whenever I hear Devil's Ralop: the Surprising Adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Caesar! ^^

  • One of their best sketches.

  • They need David Attenborough!

  • 2:00 - 2:25! Oh my God, that's dangerous!

  • @slowmonkey156 - I know!!! I'm just like, "Please dont let that be Michael hanging out of that car!!"

  • ima let you finnish but these trees behind me are some of the greatest trees of all time

  • one m00:00re time!!!!!

  • I love Michael's "Go Away!"

  • I don't know why so few talk about this when they list the "best sketches ever." This is hilarious.

  • Now finally, they have found a way to make documentaries interesting enough for me to stay tuned. AND no less than two documentaries at the same time! That's what I call multitasking : D

  • The closest I have ever come to dying laughing!

  • Does anyone know which episode this is from? Do tell...please. :)

  • @mssinatra It's from series 3, episode 12

  • Cleese And Pallin. Nothing gets better than those two when they do sketches together.

  • demetri martin took this scene in his show. its much better in this origional skit.

  • did cleese and palin do their stunts alone?

  • Love John's rugby tackle, it's brilliant. :)

  • Hahaha, how long was that mic's cord?

  • Look at that textbook tackle by Cleese! They should show this in football training videos! Monty Python continuing to be awesome in every way...

  • Wouldn't it be awesome if a third expert grabbed the microphone at the end and began a documentary about road rage and driving safety?

  • fanboys, fanboys everywhere.

  • Rival Documentaries eh? Makes me think of David Attenborough.

  • 1.02 absolutely cracks me up

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • When the hand comes round the pillar I nearly die laughing, every time!

  • How come EVERY SINGLE monty python video has thousands of comments along the lines of "The Brits really know humour!"? It's not that they were British, it's that they were geniuses.

  • @Flophole not to totally dismiss your comment, but the style of comedy of the Pythons is more common in Britain than in the US. This isn't to say there are other groups identical to the pythons, but stylistically british comedy is closer.

  • i wish the art and cultur broadcasts on tv would be that funny!

i think they would get the highest quotes of all tv programms.

    GO AWAY!

    XD

  • ... replanted this entire area... shh...

    NO!

    nice one monty!

  • hah! a driveby documentary!

  • A bit of humor sent your way. One of my fav-o-rite Monty Pythons.

  • Craig Ferguson must have studied them. Got to love the Brits for something.

  • Comment removed

  • And here we see a life or death struggle!

  • What's the music playing at 2:00? It's goes with the sketch brilliantly.

  • i think once we've got 9999999 channels and there still is nothing on and no more channels are avalable this is what we will be seeing, 99999999 channels and two thing to see on every one

  • At :16, when I first saw it, I expected the second reporter to just leave and never come back.

  • This is oddly arousing.

  • ahhahhah omg this video is so funny

  • i love English humor! there funny as heck!

  • "No!"

    "... It's mine!"

    "GO AWAY!"

  • Before the VMA', Kanye was watching this sketch.

  • This is just absolute genius. I love this sketch.

  • Pure genius.

  • HOLY SHIT THIS IS FUNNY!!!!!!!!

  • Now.........there's a thought for a "reality" series involving "How to be the next T.V reporter" just put a bunch of prima donnas in front of the camera and fight over the microphone,.................Monty Python style.

  • I'd like to see this in real life with 2 female reporters, or maybe these guys dressed like ladies, either way would be entertaining as well.

  • najaaaaaaaa, incredible! come on hahaha

  • In my opinion, this is the best sketch ever XD

  • This is one of the best comedy sketches of all time. I love it.

  • What's funny is how three of the boys actually ended up doing documentaries.

I wonder if they ever sit there during a set-up for a scene and chuckle to themselves about the irony of having spoofed them in their youth just to end up doing them for real later on.

  • God, that stunt driving must've been dangerous.

  • its sped up

  • Its still dangerous to hang out the side of a moving car when another car is right beside it.

  • best yet, and the "Brains!" one

  • a coniferous cornucopia!

  • This is one of my favourite sketches :D Michael and John work so well together

  • Absolutely!

  • my favorite part is when he says NO and GO AWAY at :45 and :51. thats the part i remember the most and the part that drew me into this skit :)

  • I dunno... seeing Mike wrestling around is kinda hot lol

I know he did his stunts so he was handing outside of the car for real for that bit lol

    I live this lol

  • 0:45 - 0:50: No! GO AWAY!

This is almost like Kanye West grabbing the microphone from Taylor Swift at the VMAs, he's a JACKASS!

  • Palin's got some balls to go after Cleese's microphone.....Cleese is like 8 friggin feet tall

    I lol'd

    <3

  • I'LL DO WHAT I LIKE BECAUSE I'M 6 FOOT 5!

  • @maryjanenobody

    SIX FOOT FIVE! Thank you!!!

  • I love Cleese's tackling prowess.

  • Hmm. Odd. I have never seen this part before. Very cool. Made me laugh. ;) They are indeed the masters of the genre. No less.

  • Old sketch, fresh & genuine ideas.

And dear god, not everyone can do their own stunts. Hats off to comedy geniuses.

  • whaha genius

  • Michael and John have great on screen chemisty. I think Terry J and Graham have great on screen chemistry as well.

  • YES! I've finally found this sketch! One of my favorites.

  • I used to watch Monty Python sooooooooooo much with my brothers. This was my favorite sketch they ever had :D It makes me laugh to the point of tears. Same for my brothers :3

  • monty python were comedic geniuses. i mean who the fuck can come up with something like this other than some crazy brits? once in a hundred generations do you get something as genuinely funny as monty python

  • @aireun Monty Python were just one of many comedy groups spawned by the Cambridge Footlights ofthe 1960s. All these groups were hilarious, but only Monty Python made it to America.

  • Excuse me, can I borrow that please? Thank you.

    Shh!

    NO!

    GO AWAY!

  • Yo documentary guy, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but Morgan Freeman has the best documentary voice OF ALL TIME!

  • @Novazi74 "The spruces and firs of this forest will be used to create-AAAH!"

  • HaHa Eric sounds like a little bitch when he says "Noo! It's mine!" HaHa I LOVE Monty Python! (:

  • That's Michael Palin, not Eric. :)

  • I like how John Cleese walks and pokes towards Michael. It's so subtle, yet so funny.

  • classic! HAHAHA

  • Mike's voice as he says "Go away!" always has me in stiches! He's so adorable!

  • Michael Palin was kind of adorable.

  • Didn't that last microphone have a cable?

  • Comment removed

  • awesome

  • Just like Anchorman.

  • the writers of Anchorman got the idea from Monty Python - Monty Python are the starting of almost everything comedy

  • Agreed. The sketch makes me smile the same way the Anchorman "gang war" scene does.

  • TACKLE!!!

  • The tackle is classic!!!

  • See John's tackle?- that's what Public School education does for you.

  • i just cant believe that some ppl dont love Monty Python

    ps. love this sketch

  • they are the kind of comedy as in one of teir interviews said 80% wont get 20% will But that 20% will follow them to their graves. It is comedy without Vulgarity minimum cursing that could beat the crap out of modern television. Their kind of intellectually comedy is dead and thats the fault of you 80% people. For killing the Television programmers confidence in the profit of Comedy without stupid people. There isnt a single comedy nowadays that doesn't have a single dumb person somewhere80%ers.

  • DARKnDODGY, you're making an ass of yourself. If you don't like Monty Python, don't watch them then instead of hating on people who do like them.

  • Why do you even think that all people who like Monty Python are intellectuals, because you don't get it?

I don't get what's not to get with this sketch.

  • Okay then that's fine if you personally don't think they're funny. Its just lame to hate on all python fans as a whole. We're all individuals.

    All is forgiven.

  • yes, WE ARE ALL INDIVIDUALS!

    :)

  • something i would like to point out i didnt change the conversation i just brought up a point of reference. But that does explain How the bloody hell the 80% are able to be that wrong and still have superiority complex.

  • What makes this sketch so funny is that they've constructed very serious and intelligent reports to go with the slapstick.

  • monty python is a gift to humanity..they did not cured any disease..but they put a smile on everyone's face....pure greatness

  • One of my all time favorite Python sketches. Thanks for posting that, I thought I'd never see it again.

  • Epic (:

  • Geez, Michael, just buy your own microphone! Stop stealing John's!

    xD

  • to emphasize the... screeeeeeee BOOOOOM!

  • Michael Palin and John Cleese have always had a great chemistry between each other.

  • I completely agree - I could be mistaken, but I believe Flying Circus happened largely because John wanted to work with Michael when they were both getting ready to do separate comedy shows. They're my favorites.

  • what episode and season is this

  • Great idea for a sketch. Arguing presenters,

    GO AWAY!

  • I wish someone would have tried to strangle some other reporter with the microphone wire. xD

  • I love how John just kinda follows him and pokes Michael. xD

  • LOL That was awesome!

    "It's MINE!"

    "GO AWAY!"

    ~God Bless.

  • This was the first ever Monty Python sketch I saw when I was a young teen, I had just switched the channels to see the end of the previous sketch. No lie, I had tears of laughter and was gasping for air by the end of this sketch.

  • one of my fav sketches! :)

    thanks for uploading

  • haha, i dont even know what they were talking about!

  • I laughed till I cried! XD Love John Cleese after the tackle, looking for the microphone. Hilarious!

  • gosh, isn't that true dedication to their work. LOL

  • I love the big dive tackle LOL

  • Reality T.V. meets the T.V. Documentary.

  • This shit is hilarious, probably my fav Python skit.

  • I love John's tackle... XD And when Michael says "No!" and "Go away!" This is just great.

  • Ohmygod I thought I was going to die while watching this. I hadn't seen this in awhile. I really WAS rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. One of my all time faves.

  • Probobly my favorite Python skets ever!!!!

  • I can't stop laughing!! xD

  • LMAO! I love monty python : P

  • THATS SO HOT!!!

    Damn, I love that!

  • They Did All There Own Stunts?

  • This gave a new meaning to the term lol.

What that meaning is, I don't know but who the hell cares it's funny.

    xD

  • This is one of my all-time favs! Thanks for posting it!

  • This is just utterly amazing, esp. when Michael says "Noo" and "Go away" and when they tackle each other, rotfl!!

  • I know:D that is my favorite part!

but another question: what means rotfl? (i'm not good with these things, the only ones I know are lol and bff :))

  • rolling on the floor laughing... good ol' Monty Python..

  • nice user name, eric!

  • thanks, it's from one of my fav Monty Python sketches, Fish License...

  • Oh yes, "are all your pets called eric?" "I don't see what's so wrong about that!" (excuse me if I goof up the quotes, I haven't watched the sketch for a bit)

  • It's not a well known skit, which is a shame...

"8 guineas for the fruit bat."

    "What fruit bat?"

    "ERIC the fruit bat!"

  • And this would be the situation if there was only one microphone left on Earth... thank God it isn't so! ;)

    Very nice sketch

  • This is the one that got me hooked. Truly great stuff.

  • Hahah! One of the few Python sketches I've never seen before - brilliant!

  • question:

at the bit where they're chasing each other in cars, is a stuntman being used?

im not too sure if its Michael Palin or a stuntman.

itll be great if it was really him doing dangerous things like that lol

  • Perhaps they drove the cars slowly and sped the film up later.

  • hmmmm, yeah thats possible :)

  • The film does look sped up during that scene, but that's just what I made out. :3

  • I wonder how they didn't fall and kill themselves though! yikes!

  • my 3rd fave MP sketch

  • @2:08 : Oh, my lack of god.

That's dedication to craft, because there's no way in hell I'd do a scene where I had to hang out of a weaving, moving car and grab at anything from another moving car, even if it was only going a few mph. Michael is so very lucky he didn't slip or that neither driver didn't have to suddenly brake.

  • Not wrong every time i watch it I look for something that would be holding Mike or a wire thats attached to him, but I have still to see anything.

Jeez, that would have to take guts, I wouldn't do it for a million dollars

  • Man on man action! 8D

  • This would be even funnier if it happened in real life.

  • Only the British...Only the Pythons. ONe of my favourites.

(Swans off to wrestle over a microphone...it should be made into an Olympic sport._

  • If this happened in real life, they would have died

    in the crash.

  • Gotta love those guys

  • haha indeed:D but I think they would have all a microfone of their own;) great sketch!

  • Makes you wonder what would happen if it was in real life.

  • Same with me. I remember seeing this on TV years ago and it's great you put it up. Thanks

  • ONLY Monty Python. ONLY them. I adore this. Absolutely brilliant. <3 <3 <3

  • This was the first Monty Python show I ever saw, and it made me laugh so hard!!! Thanks x100 for posting this!

  • I absolutely love this clip. Only the Monty Python lot could come up with this! It has the typical British politeness included and then just gets ridiculously funny- everyone should see this.

I remember seeing this once on TV years ago and have been longing to see it ever since so thank you for putting it on here.
