@nhlmike26 My driver swing speed is around 108mph. I could never predict a shaft based on swing speed. It's all about ball speed, launch, spin, landing angle, tempo, your feel, centerface contact.
@ryancrysler you guys are awesome guys, im definetely subscribing!!!! nice talking to your guys...you guys only play titleist clubs?? how are the ap2s?
the softstepping of the kbs stiff make them more of a regular flex shaft? would you reccomend doing softstepping instead of getting a regular flex shaft?
@nhlmike26 A stock KBS Tour Stiff consistently measures at 6.0. Club makers rave over their consistency. A double soft step should take them close to 5.0. All things being equal. That's what Spencer now has in his set. I actually ended up finding an old set of satin Project Xs (since the new Xs are very inconsistent...my measured between 6.5 and 8.0) and soft stepped them once to create a 6.5 matched set. Greatest move ever. Will never trade away irons without first taking out my shafts.
@ryancrysler Thanks alot for the message man, i am understanding a little better now, but one more thing, i was told that the kbs tour shafts produce the same feel and ball flight as the DG300
@nhlmike26 I play 6.0 shafts. KBS frequencies higher while having a softer feel. Project Xs frequency at a high rate as well but Reg KBS and 5.0 are close on paper.
i think the kbs tour stiff softstep is also 120g , which is a bit heavier than project x 5.0.
But i do agree, the kbs tour shaft with ap2 = super nice irons, the shaft change to a whole new world, and i got a full club length, 6 iron now goes 185 yards, thanks kbs~
what is soft steped?

@forerealz Softstepped is when you take, for example a 5 iron shaft, and place in the 6 iron. Trim to length. The flex plays a half flex softer.

@nhlmike26 Thanks! Only Titleist. No other brand from Head to toe. Spence hits the AP2s. They have a firmer feel than the original.

@ryancrysler Ohh true...yeah i took a hit with them the other day and they feel more like a forgiving style forged.

@nhlmike26 In my opinion, I completely disagree. Shafts are designed for completely different players.

what would be the stiffer shaft though?
nhlmike26 1 year ago
@nhlmike26 It would be the same. KBS's just go high and spin more.

i see....how come you played project x 5.0? why a regular shaft?

Which shaft would you say promotes a higher ball flight? the Kbs Tour Stiff? or the Project X 5.0?
nhlmike26 1 year ago
@nhlmike26 The KBS Tour Reg will be close to the 5.0 Project X. All things being equal, the KBS may spin more promoting a higher flight.

It always depends but they do tend to go higher. Adam Scott is also a good example of a low spin guy benefiting from KBS.

nice. Ernie just won the Arnie Invite and the WGC CA championship. good stuff

KBS shaft is to help people get the ball in the air right?? Suited to players with low spin rates?
