  • you know.. when flying right side up just wont cut it anymore

  • Great piloting!

  • I fly the ASK-21 and it's a wonderful glider, thanks for the vid !

  • Nice and smooth - great job! I have been trying to decided between the ASK 21 and a DG 1000....

  • hey how much is a glider?

  • @belkan991 hundred and thousands of dollar

  • i drive a sailplane by myself before! it was cool! thats my world dream, it was awesome.

  • gorgeous! I am a private pilot but they priced me out of it. This looks like my alternative for sure.

    Thanks for posting, great vid!

  • The speedlimit of the ASK 21 is about 280Km/h

  • There alot of Fun

  • how much does a sailplane like this cost?

  • 64,100.00 EUR

  • @importryder the ASK 21 cost about $115,000-$120,000 thats with the trailer

  • this is a pretty nice sailplane video. It really makes me want to fly sailplanes. cool stuff!

  • you don't?

  • Hello! I am the pilot in this flight; Odd-Gunnar Flatebø from Drammen flyklubb in Norway.. The flight was made back in 2002.

I will soon upload the same video with a little better quality. I have recent uploaded a flight with our tugplane; Robin Remo LN-DFK. Check i out! :-)

  • Wow, I fly this glider. LN-GCJ at Hokksund. Great glider. I'm only 15 and fly solo on it. This glider was made in 2002 from Alexander Schelicher!

  • Forresten; Vet du hva navnet på han som flyr er? Er han instruktør? Syntes det var litt rart at du ikke satt i forsetet, det er der de fleste koser seg mens instruktøren flyr bakfra :D

  • You must look were the steam (in german wolke) is and mostly under the steams are thermik or you fly in the montans at a hang and youse winds who flow up the mountan . Sry for my bad english im a german

  • Is the only way to find thermals is by looking at birds and other gliders. Or can you use infrared camera?

  • There are hundreds of ways. Looking at the clouds is one of the most common, if a cloud is developing it means directly under it is a thermal. If a cloud is dissipating though, there's lots of sink under them. In hilly and mountainous regions, slope lift is often used. It's almost always there, on one side of the slope. Those are probably the most common, but you can also tell a thermal from it's effect on the glider as you fly through or near it.

  • great flight!

  • Sylver - 'In your Eyes'

  • To solo a glider in the United States you must be 14 years old, have no known medical problems which would prevent you from being a safe pilot, pass a solo written test, perform flight manuevers to the satisfaction of your flight instructor. At 16 you can take a written test then a flight test with a FAA examiner to earn a Private Pilot's license with a glider rating.

  • About 145 knots.

  • great flight.I like the music two

  • btw, how fast can a sailplane go?

  • Usually between 250 and 275 km/h

  • no it depends 250 - 275 is really fast a normal speed in an ASK 21 is 90 but it could fly 150

  • The Speedlimit of the ASK 21 is about 270 km/h, not 150.

  • i didn't said it was the limit but 270 is fast though

  • @AcroFlieger

    150kn = 280km/h

  • That was awesome man!!! Thanks for sharing.

  • If you want to fly a sailplane, do you have to be like a special sailplane pilot or just a regular pilot who flyes for example cessna.

  • I spent a Saturday out in Warner Springs doing sail plane acro and holly shit was it fun, its much smoother than powered flight and when air speeds are low its very quite as well, pulling 6 G's positive and 2.5 G's negative will tend to make your lunch come out of your nose but you get used to it

I highly recommend to anyone interested in flight to hire themselves an instructor and go spend some time hanging in your seat belt harness, figure $150-$250 per flight its well worth it

  • Very nice flying- perfect inverted turn-and slow rolls right on.

  • Nice video and good pilot. My friend flys the ASK-21, too!

  • pięknie:)

  • I am flying gliders too and i'm 15, only with instructor at this moment but not for long time ;)

  • I´m 15 and have permission to fly ask-21 and ls4 :D

  • LS-4!? I may only fly ASK21,ASK23 and soon Astir :)

  • yeah, I'm 14 and I'm learning, I'm already flying with a teacher!

    Where do you live?

Very soon I'll be able to fly myself, and also take other people with me.

I live in Iceland (not cold)

  • ich bin die ask 21 selber schon geflogen aber der windenstart geht mehr ab;) einfach ne geile sache das segelfliegen

  • Very nice video and good choice of music - thanks very much

  • Aerobatics over populated area is not clever.

  • if you fly higher than 1000 ft it's allowed as far as I know

  • oh i love the ask21, only plane in my club allowed to do aerobatics ^^, been in the plane for all aerobatic maneuvrs except aileron roll barrel roll and back flying, and only done spin loop and stall turn 100% by my self, gotta love gliders, ps: im only 15.

  • what fucking country?

  • Denmark..... dont say fuck ok?

  • in germany this is possible too, im 15 too but im not allowed to fly ask-21 (yet), too few starts:(

  • Comment removed

  • I soloed in one of these.

    RAFGSA R34.

K21 handles like a Ferrari single seat flown.

  • nice camera position :) and the sound anime me to dream of the ask-21

  • Is a stall an aerobatic maneuver?

  • The stall is an aerobatic, but not an acrobatic maneuver.

  • What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

  • This is the glider i'm training with. Soon i'll get the licence. Actually a very safe plane.

  • the ask-21 is around 70,000 Euros.

Kinda pricey but sail planes are very limited production.

I just wish the sold it as a Kit form for like 15-20K many people would gladly pay that

  • the songs name is sylver-in your eyes

  • Got any GPS traces compatible with SeeYou?

  • Yey! This is at the Airport i fly!:D Hokksund(ENHS) in Norway. Th eplane is ASK-21 LN-GCJ, i have flown it:D I have also been flying in LN-GAM and LN-GBZ.

  • Still the best aerobatic video on the site!

  • I think you haven't seen the 'voltige planeur' movies.

  • whats the name of this song?

  • offsprings... self esteem ;)

  • i love flying aerobatics

  • Great Video.

  • Ahhh so cool. Looks like fun.

  • Can aerobatics be done in an AS-K18? Thats what I get to fly, sweet video.
