being a cabin crew means having to take a lot of garbage from some passengers and having to serve food and beverage and sometimes clean vomits on board! not to mention the harassments by some schumbags on board,although it can be fun at times,but its a lot of hard work and responsibility.... after all, its a customer service business.

Please ignore all the negative comments-Emirates the best airline to work for and they have the best crew who have amazing hearts ..Crew not only look after the customers on board but in personal lives they are doing more then that..looking after there folks back home ,paying for there siblings studies and woking for charity project like 'Dhaka Project'.And living extraordinary lives flying around exotic destination and 5 stars hotal...LONG LIVE EMIRATES.

Few things they observe first is --your smile..which should be warm and genuine...they dont want heros or leaders just fresh people with clear open mind who are ready to take challenges.They look for listeners not only talkers..And how much you socialise with other natinalities...good luck

The flight crew is not as 'fun or smile as this video suggests when it comes to reality.They are quite cold .One girl was totally indifferent to passengers.Some do not know how to welcome passengers.One must differentiate between HYPE and REALITY.What is true cabin crew on Emirates are made to work like slaves ,hence the coldness and indifference shown to passengers by the boys and girls alike.Failed smile excluded.Emirates cabin crew have been turned to act like clinical robots during flight.

@Gaffersfate Yes but they are highly selective for their cabin crew. You won't get hired easily and you must have some good previous experience in some good airlines. The airline is really one of the best of the world with a very good reputation, good salaries, good environment, good life style copmared to workers in other major airlines. The crew is not over worked to save money like in other airlines. And Dubai is one of the best cities in the world, safe, clean, etc.

you will have to apply middle of next year...Emirates have opened up recruitment only in Dubai cos they are looking for UAE Citizens and Arab speakers..They will recruit globally nxt year..for now they have re-contacted all those who got selected beginning of this year but had to be on hold bcos of the global crisis..i'm one of them!!!

kbl if u go in airforce then u have more experince in hijackings and decompression so i would say flying as a a air force pilot before commercial is better but if u are in emirates then i don't know

Dude its nothing like that u will have more experience in Hijackings, I am a Commercial Pilot and well dude u have a long way to go, U r 11 and and the age of 16 u can go for yor ppl. If u go in the airforce then u will have many problems, In Airforce there is less pay and after u r married then u have to move your family in every few months as u will have transfers. But if u become a commercial pilot then u will have a good pay.

and if u have 10 to 15 years Experience of Commercial Flying then u can get a job in Emirates, These days there r less jobs in Commercial cause of Recession but till the time u become a Commercial Pilot, then everything will be alright as all Aviation Companies need Commercial Pilots.

The job is physically demnding.very long hours and working in high altitude is tough on your body. Also, you have to be very strong emotionally as you can come across a variety of problems..difficult passengers, sick people, angry and clastrophobic people, different cultures, etc.you have to be prepared to deal with all that. Add to it the constant mental preparation for an emergency at any time. The you have to struggle with time zones,lack of sleep etc. But its also very rewarding.bye
