Of course this will give you total GORILLA ARMS, and so, while the idea of augmented reality is great (disclaimer: I’m working in the field), this interface is EPIC FAIL.
I can see why the guy is slumped out on the table at the start of the video. He probably needs a lay down every half hour or so. I guess they both have an AR version of 'bag on their head' for laters. Imagine the specsaver commercials for this kit...etc
Watched this in 3D with my VuzixEurope eyewear plugged into my iPhone. Awesome, but a bit of information overload, but I get the point, especially in 3D. Can you do a first person version of this where the scene is what the person sees from his own eyes. That would be very interesting....
Info on viewing 3D!! If you're trying to watch this or other 3d video's on a non 3d TV OR MONITOR with less 120hz refresh rate you will need to use analglyph 3d which is the older style of 3d that use red and blue glasses and can be used on any tv. As I'm sure most of you already figured out your REAL 3d glasses you received from the movies theatre will not work unless you have a compatible Cinema 3d tv such as the ones LG just came out with, which uses same polarized lens technology.
The only thing I fear with augmented reality is the flashy advertising on every surface, constantly battling for our attention, distracting from important stuff.
Already people suffer from sensory overload, music blaring from the radio, animated billbords everywhere, breaking lights in traffic - whoops, was that a pedestrian i just hit?
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy so many people are interested in an ageless relationship. young girls want to have fun with 40+ man and young guys want to have fun with 40+ women. There is a site focusing on this kind of relationships such as s.u ga.r.cu'pi.d.com
I was thinking, "Wow, when our society gets to this point, we are going to be SO advanced. I mean, our brains will be one with computers, cyborgs almost!"
My thoughts then wandered to the screen in front of me, to the computer running the 1,000's of light diodes efficiently creating a meaningful image in my lap. I then began typing this response so others could read it using an interconnected system linked to their household monitors and I realized how impressed i should be, always.
not all of uss can see 3D even if we have 3D glasses because LCD's don't make the 3d happen. why? .... i don't no. only plasma monitors or the conventional monitors. it's a good feature.
I found a great si****te """"" s.u.g.a.r.c.u.p.i.d@ c**0* *m"""""" it's the biggest su***g.ar dat**.ing si:;te for beautiful wo/man and r..ich man! why not check it out to find your sug..gar dadd.y or bab.y?
@Evi1M4chine I'll have you know that I'm not some kind of Luddite. this technology just seems so petty. It's clear there was very little research and development of this crap. Just like Microsoft, Google, and Apple have done, this is just a renaming and repackaging of an already existing service in the name of profitability. This shit, along with smartphones and facebook, reveals nothing about humanity and it's current position. With all this power in our hands, we could be doing so much more.
Imagine how u gonna look for the ppl who are looking at you, and doesn't have AR glasses ... standing there and 'touching' Air ... making weird moves standing in the middle of the restaurant .... ;]
It's a great concept, but changing your surroundings and creating virtual walls which limit your vision could result in accidents and injuries that would have been easily avoidable. Just look at the people now who cause incidents by walking and texting at the same time.
Thumbs up if you like this relaxed eye method better than the cross eye method.
Just relax ur eyes, making somthing close to you look double. You want the video to be a small frame size, about the size of a PSP screen (2 X 4 inches) or just use a PSP.You need to be close to the image (7-14 inches from the image). A piece of cardboard or paper in between the 2 images can help train ur eyes.
use side by side with the right camera on the right channel and the left camera on the left channel
@GoldenGashBell Your primitive mind is absolutely horrifying. We *can't* live without computers everywhere. We've already "decided" that, except we don't really have a choice. Living in the modern world requires a complex infrastructure of computers beyond your comprehension (or mine). Why are you afraid of greater efficiency? AR, combined with ubiquitous computing and the advancing internet, will bring us even closer than we already are to the sum total of human knowledge, and it's coming soon.
@xboxrat AR could not be used to "control our minds and destroy the planet," but yes, other technologies could be? What's your point? That we shouldn't progress just because something could go wrong? If we don't progress, something *will* go wrong. We'll stagnate and an existential threat will cause us to go extinct. The only option is to expand across space and diversify.
I dont get it do you see this all from your brain without any external devices? Why cant you just use your brain to change setting or whatever why do you have to physically move your body?
Really well done. The illusion of an office or private room really worked! I'm surprised that the restaurant allowed the man to sleep at an open table like that. I found myself quite annoyed with the "AR litter" all over the streets. Would developers really want to have client's ads so casually strewn about like that? I forget which sci fi story I read this in, but it reminds me of stray bits of data so casually discarded that a back office industry developed that harvested stray data.
Of course this will give you total GORILLA ARMS, and so, while the idea of augmented reality is great (disclaimer: I’m working in the field), this interface is EPIC FAIL.
