A lot of women don't bleed profusely, in fact, when there's a LOT of blood there's a problem and the mother is possibly hemorrhaging or has torn.

You can see there is a little bit of blood along with amniotic fluid and bits of mucus that come out with the baby.

There's a lot of hormonal change going on, it makes some women vomit.

@xxlovexxlolxxbabe no, its actually much safer for a baby to be born underwater. when they are inside the mother they are in a sac filled with water, and when they first start practicing to breath inside, they are sucking water into their lungs. so the baby is in no real danger of drowning. so long as you don't keep them underwater.

@BROOKEWELKS03 Great question! Each woman and each situation is different, so maternity care should be individualized. In my opinion, a normal pregnancy and birth can very safely happen out of hospital. We as women were made to do this!! Each intervention in a hospital also introduces risk.
