  • I can't see this stereoscreams comments but judging from the 2 comebacks above, he sure sounds like a royal twatface.

  • I agree with u sir. heaven ,hell and religion it's quite an extravagant fairytale loll

  • Biological processes for the universe too, "impressive"- natural selection for the big things

  • What a brain do we have humans..read first 4 words and think who did assume the Big Bang theory and was he a Muslim? "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing Then will they not believe? " so simply ALLAH or the one and only GOD we know talks about it what made the modern Muslims who read and hear about this theory hold there religion...read about Qura'an you will be surprised

  • @mhbnymn:

what does the Koran mean by 'heavens'? How did the heavens and earth join together?

Science proves that every living thing is not only made of water (H and O atoms only), thus the verse in the Koran is incorrect! We r made of H, O, C and some other trace elements including radioactive K-60 which is naturally found in our body!

I was born as a muslim, obviously because my family is muslim. Then I became a scientist. The more I studied the Koran, the more I realised that it's not true.

  • its good

  • he theory of everything must include a parallel universe. creation begets creation. for example the ocean's are parallel to the earth's population. when the earth was formed a parallel universe had significant growth causing an effect of the big bang. the rain forest depletion has parallel effect on the air quality. the theory of everything does exist. because everything is connected even outside the earth's galaxy! as the moon effects weather imagine if another dimension grew or changed.

  • can u people stop talking about religion

  • if you enlarged a tree to the size100 billion times of the universe would you know what it was and if you shrink that same tree smaller than a atom would you know they can,t unite quantum and relitivity because its all the same thing just in different stages of developement a flower seed doesn,t look beautiful as the flower itself theres no end to space as theres no end to quantum or if there is? we will never see it we are at a medium of endless mediums its my theory anyway who knows not me"

  • if we know the universe is 15 billion years old ..... then are we not rather young for a universe... cant help but feel the universe as we know it is smaller than we think... even in its infinitely large scale.... i know this is discussed but damn ... i cant wait to find out if i live that long

    PS

Religion like politics doesnt mix with science.... it is something you speak to yourself and your higher power.... Specific Religion is bias and unresponsive to any real questions of science

  • if we know the universe is 15 billion years old ..... then are we not rather young for a universe... cant help but feel the universe as we know it is smaller than we think... even in its infinitely large scale.... i know this is discussed but damn ... i cant wait to find out if i live that long

  • @heyZuesification

Religion is not defined as spiritual or transcendental thought. Those are not limited to religion. In fact, each religion prohibits all but a few lines of thought in these domains.

  • i observe god in the image of my unborn child - he will create a perception of what the universe is, he will understand what he will, he will make an opinion of whats real, whats imaginary, he will be the measure of what he see's fit to measure

  • until scientist Know exactly what this dark matter & energy is?~ they will never be able to unifiy all the 4 forces in our universe I believe gravity is key to dark matter & dark energy & only when they have proved this will the 4 forces unite, otherwise if you don,t know what 70% plus what the universe is made of how can you possibly know how to unite these forces, theres a very good reason why gravity is billions of times weaker than all the rest when we understand this? then we will know ,

  • @55painterman its more like 99 % lol and i might try and solve this thing. i will go to university, learn physics and chemistry and reveal dark matter. just cause uhhh i like science. idk idc

  • My question is,how can a mind working in its max cepacity which is still limited to time and perception, could ever imagine or calculate any theory or answe to something that is limitless,I know, sientist do not accept, infinity, and made time a part of space in order to study it,but it seems to me like a prank that we r part of.we go down to adoms with no real answer, and we go up to space to find no real answe, dosent this seems like to you that something is playing with our mind,or provoking it.

  • @saharDJAMS Love this. It is all kinda pointless. The wrong side of infinity is definity . Endless defining bigger or smaller parts of reality. Words do not cover the infinite nor does math. Only consciousness can comprehend and directly " know " everything. But that direct experience ( of oneness ) can not then be communicated back by words or math. So Science is just a useful game. Useful but pointless.

  • Don't worry about our measurement of background radiation proving there was a start to the universe - nahhh - lets just say that it is infinite. That way we dont have that pesky singularity problem we can't solve. This is just typical of science. E.g. Life on earth came here on a meteorite from outer space and evolved. Yeah but where did THAT life come from? Always passing the buck!

  • Religion depends on belief. Science depends on experimentation. One cannot apply the tenets of one to the other. Even the Catholic Church recognized this centuries ago. Describing the universe around us in scientific terms doesn't change religious belief in the least. If you believe in a Creator, how does a scientific theory on an aspect of the creation refute your beliefs? Your Creator made the universe as it is; why should his creations not study His Works and attempt to describe them?

  • Science is the study of matter and forces that a creator invented.

  • What if God and all His warnings to the unbelievers are Real? Are you ready and prepared then?

  • @stereoscreams and what if there not? youve wasted your one and only short life being blind and following the herd. isnt it obvious that religion has been used for thousands of years to control people? The rich and powerful tell the poor that "your life might be shit now, but if you behave and keep working (so i stay rich and powerful) you will be rewarded after death"

  • @rtahiggins That's the beginning of the realm of belief in the unseen. You will not / never find God in the Universe because He didn't transfused nothing from His essence into the very essence of the creation - since He is The Creator. He doesn't want you to know who He is as an entity or personality or a being. He simply asks you in all his Books to rigorously testify SCIENTIFICALLY everything you come across and at the end of the day it would point, inevitably, to a point of sentient creation.

  • @rtahiggins thats true .but try convincing people of that and you're just wasting your own short life

  • @stereoscreams and let me ask you this. why dont you speak arabic or farsi? because you were born in an English speak country. if you were born in Iran then you would speak the language, correct? of course it is, you wouldnt start speaking german when everyone around you is speaking arabic. the same goes for religion, you were born into a Christian/Jewish environment, even if your family isnt religious, its still predominant in your environment. so how can one religion be right?

  • @rtahiggins Contd. You will never find any "Alien" or unidentified species more intelligent than you - try it for eons. You are already on the top to explore and know everything. Matter is not the end of everything; advanced sciences such as Quantam Physics (string theory / uncertainty principle) suggest many other aspects of existence but the problem is you don't have "Tools" to explore / interact with them or let me say you have NOT BEEN GIVEN tools to explore them.

  • @rtahiggins There is only one correct explanation, and we will probably never get it exactly right. It could be one religion, the other, science, but we don't KNOW for sure yet. People in science study, and people who have religion just choose to believe.

  • @rtahiggins Questions were asked about the 2001 UK census about how many people had put Jedi as their religion. The Census office, much to their credit issued a press release entitled, '390,000 Jedi there are'.

  • @rtahiggins your right, even within a religion there is still opinion and perception - even within one religion there is a difference in understanding, in belief. Religion in a product of culture - if you were born into a cannibalistic environment then cannibalism would be your religious practice

  • @heyZuesification is it not a religious practice of atheists to bash the concept of god? To think one stupid for formulating some hope in an imaginary precept of faith? Atheists may detest deity's, but the greatest deity in history is the concept of no god or no creator - that concept is a religious thought, that concept is a belief system and it's no different to having faith in a higher power. Your higher power may be observation, but have you ever actually seen an electron?

  • Comment removed

  • @youztuber5000 "We can never know both the momentum and position of an electron in an atom. Therefore, Heisenberg said that we shouldn't view electrons as moving in well-defined orbits about the nucleus!"

If you can not see a single electron in an instant, then who's delusion are you building? Electron microscopes focus potential acceleration of electromagnetic force to view other objects, not viewing individual electrons.

  • @heyZuesification Ok, I recede, you schooled me...

  • @youztuber5000 The neurotic delusion is that people assume electrons are a physical element of physics, when all they are is a polar measurement or differential as far as current science and observation can surmise. No one has ever seen one electron stationary or in motion, they only appear to be somewhere in the mix due to mathematics' which is always subject to the point of origin of observation and the point of origin in the difference.

  • @heyZuesification So like an electron, god is also a factor to the point of origin that the observer surmises, it comes to faith, one's will to see the imaginary concepts as one would have it be. Real or not real, they are simply polar opposites. I believe that both occurs.... The dream time serpent was very cunning you know.

  • @rtahiggins religion can suck my balls!

  • Last message: So if He is the one (obviously) to raise The Firmament and set a Balance then all of the non-believers / faith-rejecters shall remain the same way until He has a different plan for them and by His approval (only) they start pondering through their hearts and listening to His words and Seeing with a belief.

And if not he has a Quasar (He calls Hell) waiting for them or probably something weirder, deadlier and uglier than that.

    Who knows!

    Peace.

  • @stereoscreams so if some ones religion, 90% of the time, is dependant on the environment you grew up in, how can any religion be right? im not picking on you personally, i dont hate religious people, it can be something amazing that brings joy and comfort to people when they need it most. it just frustrates me how narrow minded religious people usually are, i know Christians who refuse to read the quran or watch a video on science, ive read every major religious text, faith is good if u NEED it

  • @rtahiggins Thanks for writing to me. Even if you pick on me; it's ok :). Since, you have asked; Do not believe what you want to believe but believe what you ought to believe. Use all of your senses naturally and neutrally and then decide - because the power of decision (and discretion) is what sets you apart and above from any other entity you know in the known universe. You are already at the top of the creation! Every thing below is subject to your understanding if not command.

  • @rtahiggins Beyond that point is the realm of God with His unknown / unseen frame of work. The Word God triggers repulsion in many - you may term it the All knowing Greatest Scientist so Knowledgeable and so wise that the scientist himself started creating things out of nothing. I think it would pacify many. :) He simply invites you to see, know and explore within the Bubble (of Universe) he's confined you in for the time being and find out that all of the things are signs of some greater power

  • @rtahiggins That's it. This is what all He wants from you being at the top of His creation since you are the only one with ample intelligence to probe out the truth and the HIDDEN REALITIES..that's the purpose of your life. So far as it regards the Religious frame of work my friend Whatever religion commands to us i.e. Dos and Don'ts. God has no benefit out of it. It's basically a frame work to tame in the Monster we call "Human Being" if uncontrolled and unchained.

  • @rtahiggins So that We Humans could live a better life together with justice and equality. Now about your assumptions about me. I was not born in an English Speaking nation. I didn't have religion predominantly around me. I am a born Muslim but I embraced Islam last year. (now try understanding that :) ) .

The above may tell you that sometimes your assumptions are wrong rather most of the time so you should not believe what you want to believe rather what you ought to believe.

  • @rtahiggins Use your power of reason and rational honestly, naturally and neutrally and read the infalliable word of God. God willing, you will end up Unifying the Theory of Everything with the same cautious and probing mind.

Islam is anything but a dogma to be believed in blindly. Islam and blindness do not go together. Islam is actually the actual religion of Muslims, Christians and Jews - It's not today's Muslims version of religion.

  • Comment removed

  • @rtahiggins t's actually to surrender your will by your own very will to The Will of your Creator. It's highly Scientific. Do you "believe" a person like me would yield to stories only?

    come on try it:

"This is The Book - without doubt - sure in it is guidance for those who abstain from transgressions". 1 verse of 2nd Chapter of The Holy Quran.

Or are you waiting for a Hairy Pottery version of a weird movie character with wings to come to you and tell you about God and faith? Allah Bless U

  • Contd. from below: And the same Lord who raised the "Firmament" and set a balance until an appointed time (suggests Big Crunch or The Judgement Day however you may like to call it) has also set something upon the hearts of unbelievers:

"And to those who reject the faith - it is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them - THEY WILL NOT BELIEVE. Allah has set a SEAL on their hearts and on their hearings, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they incur." 6-7 of Ch 2.

  • contd. from below: The kids with goggles and pens'd remain in lurches forever until they choose to work in the labs of their Hearts. In previous part of the series "Scientists" were stunned at the unimaginable "BALANCE" that was required to execute perfect "INFLATION".

Hear from the word of Lord Now:

"And the firmament has he raised high, and HE has set up the BALANCE". 7th Verse of Chapter 55 (AL-Rahman) of The Holy Quran.

  • Why can't Hawkings' unparalleled genius put him back on his feet so that he could stand up and get a little closer to the Heavens he's deeply looking into? Or do we need ISA (Jesus) AS to raise him up as in a "miracle" from the only Lord who transcends (and that's why initiated the inception of) The Universe at both intentional and physical levels. How can you understand Him "scientifically" whereby He's not the part of the Universe! The kids with goggles and pens'd remain in lurches forever.

  • 3:00 - 4:00 this is why i remain with one foot in religion..and one foot in science and fact..this comming from the son of a pastor

  • "What can I do in half an hour?"

"And within half an hour, I wrote the Theory of The Self Producing Universe?"

This man really works better under pressure.

  • God did not create man, Man created god to explain our existence, and to fight wars in his name guilt free.

  • that lee smolin dude looks and sounds like a paedophile lol

  • @Woga000 Dude, you have to come to terms with your own personal agenda, your saying science is some way flawed, yet the selfgeneration is impossible thus leaves god to be the sole creator? I say who created god? Who / what ever mystery god is.... Also could not be self generated...

  • He is answering nothing, and the title stolen from my e-mail to him, about my book.

  • 08:55 - Makes perfect sense, huh? The first step to opening up society and allowing more freedom should always be to ban the publication of all scientific papers abroad. Go Gorby!

  • Interesting program, but very few new answers here. "Perhaps" "maybe" "this could be wrong". All we see is a theory that the universe is its own God, that it has no beginning or end, that it "makes" its own laws, that it "decides" its own parameters. How does a universe without the power to think "decide" its own parameters? It all seems to me a lot of stabbing in the dark, leaving a lot of questions completely unanswered.

  • @chrisman737 and in reply to this comment . This program wasn't to bring you just new answers, but new possibilities (theories) to get new answers (or "the" answer lol). As I said before, I suggest you type into youtube "A Universe from Nothing by Lawrence Krauss"... and that should give you some new answers :) and as i said before read "The Grand Design" by Stephen Hawking, and perhaps "The Greatest Show on Earth" by Richard Dawkins. :)

  • @Adam0209M, thank you for verifying that this program gives very few new answers.

  • When you cook a meal and put it in the oven for half an hour, it often ends up rather "half-baked". Maybe that is why this theory seems so unconvincing.

  • When you cook a meal and put it in the oven for half an hour, it often ends up rather "half-baked". Maybe that is why this theory seems so unconvincing

  • god is not logical, science is...end of story

  • Let´s imagine that human deal universe´s begining. But before it? Or after it?

Or who/ what create it? It´s so funny realise that we are universe´s component, and the universe trying to understand itself. I belive in God... don´t in way of religion. I see the whole universe how God. Cience try explain how things works, and it is so wonderful! I hope, one day, the answers will broke and the jails of doubt. Altough don´t destroy our hearts

  • With all respect, Godness isn´t a bad thing. But i agree about "do not comment what you don´t know". Religion try to answer all trough fee. Science try the same, but with reason, or knowlegement... Choose a side and keep it. Moreover, respect each other. Perhaps it is the way of Goodness. Sorry my English!

  • @derciorj21 it will be wonderful if both mutually merges, values taught by religions seems absent in science, expansion of curiosity seems lacking in religion.

  • This is important whatever a person believes, this is also interesting.

  • Religion is an easy way out for people who are incompetent in looking for the truth.

  • @cranedeck Religion was originally just a way for people to try to understand the world around them. Of course it's going to be flawed since mankind was not nearly as advanced. And on the way some people realized they could use religion to gain more power, so it's pretty much these people who made religion last so long in history, for control and power.

So in my opinion, science is also a religion, just a more probable one. Stop acting like you're superior just because you believe in science.

  • @eleph4nt i agree the science is currently the more probable religion, and i didnt intend to portray that its superior to believe in science, i just find it frustrating that people in my life seek answers and end their search in those long standing religions and not question further... i do not condescend to them, they are my equal peers, hence i vent here.

  • If there is no God, then where did the universe come from? Is it eternal? No. The Reason? If the universe is eternal, and has no beginning, then the concept of spacetime breaks down completely. There couldn't be a way for a timeline to progress in an eternal universe Thus, by this theory, we couldn't possibly exist. Did the universe self generate? No, because the laws of cause and effect and the law of science that states that spontaneous generation is impossible. The only solution left is God.

  • god: hey darwin, how about a mammal that lays eggs? *creates platypus* ha! take that bitch!

  • thank god! not scientists think about it if there was i god. whitch i belive there is!. now that is a therey i'd like to see the sientists prove that one wrong!

  • Is there a way I can view a video and not see the comments, I cant find that option now the format has changed.

  • God is all of us,,,test us to find god becuase we are all interconnected in the metaphysical body aka the eleventh dimension(conscienceness), we are slaves to material, observers trapped in a realm governed by chance that what we perceive is "real" when it is all energy bound together by gravity and separated by magnetism

  • why 11th dimension? ive stared to think about dimensions a lot more hving heard more aboutthe singularity theory and thinking of th possible effects of gravity on reality/dimensions. What can we class as a different dimension and how?

  • Why does some idiot always come in the science videos preaching about god. Stay out of these videos, you will get embarrassed every time you make a stupid comment. God is not scientific, you can't observe him, you can't test him.

  • @tyrone9009 thats kind of what he was saying dude lol.. in a way

  • @tyrone9009 I would say from all theories mankind has developed to grasp their enviroment and to underastand themselves the god theory is the least propable one ^^

  • @tyrone9009 Yet you can't prove that he or any other God didn't exist. I am not particularly religious, I prefer science, but the fact is that science can niether prove nor disprove God or any other modern philosophy, which is why these philosophies are still around.

  • @tyrone9009 :

"Why does some idiot always come in the science videos preaching about god."

Because they lack conviction in their "beliefs". They feel the need to make everyone else agree with them, in order to smooth over their own reservations about the things they desperately want to really believe. It's a testimony to their own internal doubts.

  • @tyrone9009 you are right comment about Yeshua and your false isaraeli gods from the Old Testament,Neil Amstrong diddn't walk on the moon with the help of the BIBLE Mahabharata or Talmud but with science and human ingenuity.

  • @tyrone9009 I don't agree with holy roller types but you don't know much about physics if you don't know that everything we learn points to a "designer" or a "god". You cant be scientific and still see that it it is highly likely that there is a "designer or "creator" or uh "god". Many people who consider themselves so smart often think than can rule out a supernatural creator and I would like to know based on what grounds can you really do that?

  • @tyrone9009 in the system of guiyada vishnavism aka the hare krishna movement, there are many books written by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhuphada that talk about the science of God where he explains the exsistance of god, and the system of exsistance and answers why to many of the questions that these scientists are asking.

  • Your comment is not worth my time to make a reply to, we will all find out in the end, won't we?

  • hahah what if when u die ur contiousness dies to? then what will u know? nothing at.. a lot of ppl think thats what happens.

  • so many concepts are flowing through my head right now!! i wanna freeze myself and wake up in like 500 years and see where all this leads us!

  • i wonder how far we'd be in this world if stephen hawking didnt have a disability

  • Stephen have NOT a thinking disability you know?

  • man your not very bright at all, no shit, of course he doesnt have a thinking disability, the man is is proofing is theories of the universe, obviously he would accomplish much more if he was able bodied, and could physically do all his mathematics himself, he probably would have already come up with his theory of everything... he has university students doing all the actual work as he relays it through his computer...

  • Its doubtful he would have every begun work of this nature had he been able bodied. He has said himself that he didnt really become serious about his work until his disease was discovered and provided him with motivation. Also, he has said that it is only through his limited mobility that he has had the time to think of nothing except his work.

  • thats probly true, i mean 'hey lets go solve the mysteries of the universe' might not be on the top of his things to do list if he was able bodied, i think going and having a few burgers and fucking would be near the top, lol, a weird topic when discussing hawking lol

  • his physical one really messes with his ability to do stuff though. he cant write for fucks sake.

  • So basically, even though string theory can predict a lot, he's saying that it could be a number of different things and they won't know until they havea unifying theory?

  • God. He is an imaginary figure for people who can't think for themselves.

If scientist can't give you definite answer to how the universe was created, it doesn't mean you stop your search to find what created it and say "God did it" Some people think that since we have only theories to how the universe was created, they can say "where's your evidence". Well my friend where is your evidence that god created the universe or "the building blocks", or that he even exists. The bible is not Evidence.

  • Irrational thought ends, god begins. The longer we keep him out of the equation the farther we can advance science.

  • the bible is evidence that ppl will believe anything if it makes them feel better.

  • haha, yes it is. I myself have no problem with someone believing in God/Religion (though I admit it bugs me slightly haha), but when they use their God/Religion to Justify their immoral acts, that's where it all goes overboard. Same as when someone goes to Confession, and they are "forgiven" for their immoral acts against others, even though it should be the victim who forgives, not this imaginary entity.

  • @Adam0209M "God. He is an imaginary figure for people who can't think for themselves." hmm this is just an opinion, your opinion. It doesn't apply to me. I have a degree in electrical and computer engineering from National technical university of athens. Only smart people can graduate from there. BUT I do believe in God.

  • @x6801 Congratulations on getting your degree, but that doesn't mean your belief is correct nor does it mean you are intelligent :)

I am not saying you are unintelligent, I am just saying a degree doesn't determine how smart you are. I know many intelligent people who have never even went to College or even finish their 2nd level education. These people are smart, because they can think for themselves. :)

  • @Adam0209M Fuck off, Atheist are just afraid of him because you think you are held accountable for him. And you are.

  • @Oxstayne Excuse me? Atheists are afraid of "him"? by "him" i assume you mean god yes?

Well, you see, an atheist is someone who denies the existence of a supreme being, "god", it's not like we are afraid of this highly likely non-existing entity because we simply dont like him and think he's scary.

Atheist don't believe "he" exists. And also, why what's with the "fuck off"? it's freedom of speech and my own opinion which are allowed to be expressed, so I think I wont "fuck off" thank you.

  • @Adam0209M yes just watch the video stupid and dont read the coments ....waht a dingo berry ..daaa if u drive and u have a book in the car will driving ..ur not going to readit ...doomy whata moron ...shut up

  • @kaliman64 What are you on about? I watched the video's, all of them. I commented giving my own views and opinions based on logic. I will read the comments if I want thank you. It's funny that most the ignorant people of this planet has to tell you to "shut up" or "fuck off" if they can't keep up an arguement/debate. Thanks.

  • @kaliman64 After commenting back, baffled at what you said (haha) i realise you meant to comment back to "breathless46" but accidentally replied to me.

  • @Adam0209M well some guy called Abramham said god talks to me he says this is how it is, then he wrote the tora. So its more based on trust because of a patriac who made this claim than they made it up, its not like people gets fustratet and make up god, only the first guy did this the rest simly belive because it is a promice

  • @Crusher728 Ok, look. Just because some (schizophrenic or lying) people claim to hear god talking to them does not prove his existence. Why would you listen to this Abraham!? did he not say (if he even really existed) that god told him to sacrifice his son Isaac? If the biblical god exists, he is a blood thirsty selfish vain fiend. How could you believe the story of Abraham, he was even said to have died at 175-80 years old. and when his hundreds to have had 6 sons. Just ridiculous.

  • @Adam0209M Well, God making miracles is the proff of his excistence therefore the arguement that it is impossible is not valid :D

  • @Crusher728 That we do not like him is a whole new discussion, but certainly alot of things that religion asks people todo or not todo just dont seem right

  • I always would keep the concepts of religion and god seperate. If there is a god, he is the god of the universe or what not, none of this bullshit made up by man. Since it is incredible unlikely he exists or ever did, that is th reason I do not believe, give me proof and I will believe, but I doubt that day will ever come lol :)

  • @Crusher728 There are no miracles. Only chance and probability. Do you think it's a miracle to have thousands of children dying of starvation in africa? if god existed and could preform miracles this wouldn't be a problem. There is no proof for God. No evidence. God is a concept made by man. And that is that. :)

  • @Adam0209M @tyrone9009 I don't believe in God, but there are also a lot of things we still can't prove in science.

Human beings need to believe in something, whether it be science or a God. There are also many great lessons of life in the Bible if you read it with a second degree of analysis. So please, stop acting like you're superior to people who believe in God, because THAT is a close minded attitude.

  • @eleph4nt I'm not saying we shouldn't believe in anything. We shouldn't believe in something that isn't proven or maybe can never be proven. There is no point in that faith, you will learn nothing in hope for something that most likely isn't there. I never said there isn't things to be learned in the bible, but, most of it is rubbish to be quite honest. Still is a very important book that gives us an insight into the past. Also I don't hold myself higher, I'm just trying to stop ignorance. lol

  • @Adam0209M i understand your opinion, but i don't think we can really change what people believe in, it will come with new generations, new generations that will slowly start to aknowledge science as a more appropriate way to make a better future.

And I just noticed that your Youtube username is "Adam" haha :P

  • @eleph4nt I know, some people have been forced into what they believe both intentionally and unintentionally, and yes, slowly people have been acknowledging science as an appropriate way to make a better future, they have been for the last 300 years +

More people are stepping out of religions than stepping in. The Internet being a major factor, thanks to all the free information (thank science for that) lol. And my reason for keeping at religious and such, is to help them.

    And yeah :S ironic

  • @Adam0209M , I believe in God and I also can think for myself. How do you explain that? Also, I do not believe in God merely because science can't give me answers.

  • @chrisman737 ask yourself why you believe in god... now, ask yourself is that rational...

Believing in god is not rational thinking. No evidence. No proof. Yet you believe this concept of a sky fairy. Does there have to be a god? No, read Stephen Hawkings new book "The Grand Design". If you still believe in god after reading that, you must be irrational AND ignorant. Don't take this as an attack, I believe your what i like to call "innocently ignorant". Once it brings no harm on anyone. fine.

  • @Adam0209M, no, there does not have to be a God. But I do believe in God's existence. We can come to the conclusion that God exists through the use of reason, therefore it is not correct to say that believing in God is not rational thinking. St. Thomas Aquinas covered this topic very well. There is also faith. We believe that faith and reason can work hand in hand.

  • @chrisman737 Excuse me, but it IS irrational to believe god exists. Just as it would be irrational if i was to believe pink elephants are hiding in caves, but just no one has found them... No evidence. No rationality. At least in this case. And yes, i admit it gives few "new" answers... because I did say in my last comment, that it wasn't meant to, I already knew practically everything in this when I watched it. I hope you watched and/or read what i recommended to you, if you want answers...

  • @Adam0209M, it is not irrational for me to believe that God exists, especially when our reason can be used to understand various proofs for God's existence (once again, I refer you to Thomas Aquinas). It is not necessarily irrational to believe pink elephants are hiding in caves, so long as there is some indication, perhaps even indirect, that such is, in fact, the case. Black holes cannot be directly detected, but indirectly detected insofar as their effect on other celestial bodies.

  • @chrisman737 There is no evidence... that is like saying, what caused the creators on the moon? oh must be god because i cant explain it any other way. Therefore since this diety probably doesnt exist, and there is no proof at all for the entity, it IS definitely irrational to use this to explain what hasnt been explain yet. Science just gives us answers, hard cold facts that are 100% true. Your god is just another stupid theory, which is must likely untrue, therefore irrational to believe.

  • @chrisman737 I think it is ridiculous to believe in this without proving it first, it is definitely irrational, no matter how many times your refer to that biased figure "St. Thomas Aquinas" he is obviously wrong. No use comes from believing god, without first being evidence. Oh and, there is evidence for black holes, and good reason to believe they exist, and we can explain them, would you just get round to reading something decent like hawking instead of listening to some saint...

  • @Adam0209M, I don't think you read my post carefully. There is no direct evidence for God, but there is indirect evidence (some would say the created universe, others would speak of the arguments of Thomas Aquinas -- yes, I mentioned him again, but not only because he was a great saint, but a great philosopher as well). There is no direct evidence for black holes, but there is indirect evidence -- read my previous post. You seem to think I said there is no evidence at all for black holes.

  • @chrisman737 You see, the created universe being indirect evidence... isn't really evidence then is it... when we know that the universe can come from nothing which means, there doesnt have to be a god at all, so that basically leaves god out of the equation. There is no need for that hypothesis so why use it? or why even bother believing it? If science proved the existence of god, i would obviously believe it, it's called rationality. Believe what IS true, not what MIGHT be true.

  • @chrisman737 And sorry I didn't read it carefully, I do understand the point you are getting across

  • @Adam0209M Adam you make good points in why there is no scientific reason for God but may I say the reason sane people believe in a religion is they feel deep down that there is something out there science or not. But Science is a key aspect of understanding what this is who we are and what we a capable of science and God tie together very nicely when it is broken down and not interpreted stupidly like most Christians do. It comes down to how a person feels and interprets what is given.

  • @TheCrazyMinnesotan Well, I myself think religion (God) is just a step we took to understand ourselves and our being, when we took these steps we were looking for answers. I don't think it was stupid (Many years ago of course) to believe in God or what not. Very important aspect in development and a big step. Obviously now, we can forget about this step, we have already taken it and now we have no need for it. We have science, which gives us answers. No need for god. :)

  • @Adam0209There is no part of science that disproves a higher conciousness or intelligence that some may call God. Yes it disproves the classic christian idea of "Got made the earth on the first day blah blah blah" But there is no need to cal people who believe in a higher power ignorant. There are many people who are very well versed in quantum physics that agree that science and the concept of god are coming together.

  • @johnsonjarvisjervis I never said science disproves the existence of a deity like entity, a superior intelligence or whatever. I said it hasn't found ANY evidence as of yet and it HAS proven that a universe CAN come from "nothing". Watch "A Universe from Nothing" by Lawrence Krauss or read Stephen Hawkings new book. What I am saying is, its irrational to believe "god" exists without evidence to back it up, and completely and uterly unnecessary to assume it. And it CAN be from ignorance. :)

  • @Adam0209M Yes science can tell us nearly everything but the reason I see fit there is a god is because for me I have felt there is a greater power to our universe and have felt it. And no I'm not crazy a Christine guy but throughout all science there is understanding and relation between science and religion. It's just not clear.

  • @TheCrazyMinnesotan Well I have never felt the existance of a greater power. I have never felt that there had to be a God. Science can explain why you think this. And science explains why some of us still believe in God. Don't just asume there is a "greater power" because you think you have felt something. Look for the answer through science, through rationality. There is no need for the belief, it can be explained. :)

  • @Adam0209M if christians are saying this..they are ignorant and don't even know of their own religion, also they are acting close minded and should seek education from a person who actually READ THE BIBLE..many christians havnt and they think they know what the definate answere is...i agree with you in full..where is anybodys evidence..i think we will only know the answer when we die..i kinda hope that god exists because if not then there is nothing after death and that'll kinda suck :p

  • @Adam0209M This is the timeless debate. Those of you condemning believers in God have just as little support for the beginning of the universe as believers in God do - BOTH sides have limits. The two top-rated comments here are leaning too much toward scientifc claims about existence as the sole dictator of universal knowledge. Do research on the mind or pick up a philosophy textbook and you will see there is an unsolved disparity between the two schools of thought: empiricism and rationality.

  • l agree

Newton's law of inertia: an object will continue in a state of rest till an external force acts on

so wat triggered the big bang

or 'brought about' the first species or primdordial soup was an entity or energy OUTSIDE of everything

Some call it a force, energy, intelligence

while others like me call it GOD

we still search for the answers but knowledge is nothing in itself

There will never be an end of opposing views

Each man must find his path

  • they just said in the last vid that stephen came up with a simple model of an ininite universe that went round itself eternally.

  • so far from others galaxies, not beeing able to visit them and yet we want to give a simple answer, who need it except capitalism, people who use scientist have gave more sufferness than happiness to the living creatures ... do they really merit the answer - no unfortunattly, too dangerous to be hold in the hand of people who love just money and power ...

  • if a tree is dammage at his early age he won't grow up, unfortunatlly human has been an illness tree since a longtime, at one part we still kill, at the other side we want to found the secret of all, we need a unique theory won't explain just science, but will give answer to all aspects of life, books and lines, tells and science are not enough knowledge, to found the key ...

  • too soon to surch for a simple law, with just one point of view, we should be able to reach far before getting an unique conclusion, scientist are becoming businessman, selling the reason of all in a box at the market ...

  • lol @ comment feature , sometimes. , ~~ when ru bakked . lol sometimes, lol seriously, rotf

  • I believe that this is another conspirycy theory to NOT clear your minds... You are just a toy in hands of sb. who know a lot... All that you could do is agree with him. Thats all.

  • My gut feeling is we happen to be a product of a universe that was cooked 'just right'. Most other universes(big bangs)aren't so lucky.

Chance says a universe like ours should come along once in a while.

Other universes could be popping off elsewhere as we speak. Whether our universe, in the vastness of space, will ever encounter them or not, is calling on chance again.

  • It was god who created the universe, he sneezed and from his nose all came to be, but then he cursed because it wasn´t his intension to sneeze, then all hell broque loose and religion came to be from his holy curse. so sayeth the blasphemer. my inglish no good sorry.

  • "The Trouble with Physics" was pretty bad.

  • wait, wait, wait...

    So darwin created the universe???

  • no it was jesus

    jesus and his crazy sandals

  • They aren't saying that. Stop embarrassing yourself with stupid nonsensical yankisms.

  • I think hes trying to make a joke.

  • hey how can evolution exist if genes can not change? You may say mutation but mutation is not inheritted. Please explain, I have not read a lot about it.

  • mutations are in fact inherited, thats the mechanism that leads to slow changes in heredity and ultimately, the origin of new species through natural selection. To answer your question directly, genes do change through what is known as a proof reading error, where an incorrect nucliotide is inserted during DNA self replication - AKA a mutation

  • troublesum singularity? Didn't know it was a problem. Singularites are some of my favorite things!

  • how about the universe is made up of "us", and the laws of physics are a result of the interaction of us ...which is partly kinda why people act metaphorically like physics....dont tell me im stupid please...

  • Nothing proceeded "creation"

Creation is misleading. Eternal evolution of the universe is more palatable.

  • Again, not to jump in out of place, but if the veracity of the Bible is something you're interested in, take a look at some posts by Apologetics 101. Regardless of your religious views, some really interesting philosophical points are made by some real scholars with a great deal of research.
