this is a good idea but it takes to long, i will make a video next time i laminate. i use oracal 210 and laminate quickly by myself. i am new to business maybe 5 months. maybe my way can help people.
Well i just tried this method using a 50" roll of 290 and it ruined the print with in the first 6 inches. I thought i'd take the cheap way out and but a big squeegee instead of a $3000 laminator, and now i'm paying the price in ruined prints and wasted time. (lets see if this comment stays up, cuz from the looks of it negative comments get deleted about the big squeegee)
@kccaprice I don't delete any bad comments. It is like anything else, there is a learning curve. If this method don't help it may be because I haven't been clear enough in the explanation. If you need more help, you are welcome to give me a call. I do recommend that you practice on a smaller piece of vinyl before tackling something so big and critical.
@bigsqueegee i have tried it with a 30" laminate sheet. and it worked out better. I think the big squeegee is a good tool for jobs 30" wide or less. Its definitely more difficult to use when its 50" wide. I may try this one more time to see if i can make it work.
Thank you, It don't take very long to learn to produce high quality work with this tool. It will save you a lot on time and materials. You do not need to pre-mask printed vinyl prior to mounting it.
