Hi Joe, I can't help but laugh and learn at the same time. Thanks very much for this, coz i am learning well, just for a few minutes of following you up and repeating your videos for nth time:) cheers...
Hey Joe, I'm an English teacher in the Arabic Gulf Area. Such approaches you beleive in are successful and fruitful for native speakers and advanced students.
As for the beginners, once you, as a teacher, are committed to a curriculum pacing schedule and principles forcing you to do it the traditional way, you'll have no chance to create.
Hi Ahmed! I am lucky to have some freedom when I teach, but most of the time I do traditional lessons first, then use jokes, dictations, quotes, riddles, etc. to supplement my lessons. I teach mostly lower and intermediate level non-native speakers of English and find these kinds of activities very productive. Most native English speakers just groan at these jokes!
Could anyone tell me the joke? I'm from Spain and we don't do this kind of humor so it's difficult to understand it (especially if it is told in English).
Ok! Now I understand why I didnt recognize the joke! I thought that the final part ("I know all about it! Why else would I poison you?!?") was told by Becky (you used a woman voice so...) but don't worry, now it's all right, thanks and great joke!^^ (there's nothing to confess, said the weeping Jake...jaja) BYE.
Fantastic joke, im going to show it to my classmates!

The humor is in the surprise at the end. He is so sad yet he is the one who killed her!
