The Cavs won't get past the Celtics or Magic next season. The addition of Shaq will have little to no affect on their chances of winning the title because
1.) He's waaay out of his prime
2.) He's slow and fat
3.) The East will be extrememly tougher next season (heck, I wouldn't be suprised if the Pistons overcome the Cavs)

The Lakers lost Ariza, who actually helped against the Cavs. Artest has proven that he can't defend Artest, and he's one of the all time worst at being reliable on the scoring side...so they didn't exactly improve as a Cavs matchup.
But the Lakers need to worry more about the Spurs before an Eastern team. They couldn't beat the healthy Spurs last year, and they improved much more than the Lakers now...so if no injuries, I don't even see the Lakers going to the Finals.

The Cavs won't get past the Celtics or Magic next season. The addition of Shaq will have little to no affect on their chances of winning the title because
1.) He's waaay out of his prime
2.) He's slow and fat
3.) The East will be extrememly tougher next season (heck, I wouldn't be suprised if the Pistons overcome the Cavs)

The Lakers lost Ariza, who actually helped against the Cavs. Artest has proven that he can't defend Artest, and he's one of the all time worst at being reliable on the scoring side...so they didn't exactly improve as a Cavs matchup.
But the Lakers need to worry more about the Spurs before an Eastern team. They couldn't beat the healthy Spurs last year, and they improved much more than the Lakers now...so if no injuries, I don't even see the Lakers going to the Finals.

Please, did you watch the last time that Artest guarded Lebron lol? Lebron is more athleticism and power than basketball skill, he overpowers the skinny and weak SF's in the league yet Artest has always been able to match his strength.
As for the Spurs, Tim Duncan's knees won't be able to last an 82 game season. As for Manu, you can sneeze on him and he'll be out for the season. Lakers are in position to repeat.

Z didn't defend Howard. That's the reason they lost, they had no one that could do anything.
And Howard is useless outside of 5 feet from the rim, which is where Shaq will be standing. It's not like Howard has tons of moves, he just powers in sort of like Shaq(of course Howard looks better even though I'm not a huge fan of him), so they will have defense now, and taking away Magic's only hope.

Odom and Artest played basketball together growing up and Phil Jackson has a knack for controlling "wild" players. Artest is a walk in he park compared to Rodman.

Artest does have an anger problem, and having to listen to Kobe isn't going to be something he's EVER proven that he's been able to do.
