I don't hate Atheists, I have a lot of Atheist friends. I didn't dislike this video, and I know of several Atheists on YouTube who I've subscribed to. I would NEVER stop watching them. And for you Christians, Catholics that say that Alex is wrong, isn't your religion about accepting people as they are? And even if it isn't, aren't we hypocritical to say that there is a God, or not? Every religion is different. I just ask that you respect.
Don't really know whats going on in the comments, but just to say, I'm a christian, but I have not disliked this video nor will I stop watching Alex. It's his opinion. As long as he doesn't say something REALLY offensive, I don't care. And btw, I've seen Nerimon videos with thousands of dislikes, so it isn't just because of religion. It's racist to judge a whole group of people who look the same as an idiot, so just because SOME religious people dislike/comment doesn't mean we all feel that way.

I believe there may or may not be a God, I believe nobody really knows, and I don't have one specific religion. I may technically be an atheist, but if I said that to anybody I knew, they would all hate me. I don't want to take that risk. I believe there may be evidence of a God (i.e. the Big Bang- where did the energy and everything in space come from?), but not enough for me to completely give myself to required worship.

As Christians, we're supposed to be nice to everyone, but there are "Christians" who go around criticizing everyone else and refuse to acknowledge the fact that they do wrong things too, and all sins are the same in God's eyes. Christianity is a source of hope, and it says in the Bible it takes "the faith of a mustard seed" to believe, meaning that however much people try to "prove" us wrong, we know it's not about proving ourselves right, but believing what the Bible and God are right.
@lifeslikeatoaster just to clarify few people are actively trying to prove you wrong, atheists are however quite successfully proving lot of their assertions to be correct, while doing their best to make vocal believers stop irritating them.

Just to clear some stuff up: religion is not a quick and easy explanation of anything; it is neither quick nor easy. As a Christian, it is, indeed, my belief that if you are not Christian, you go to Hell, but it's not a "You're gonna burn in Hell!!" kinda thing, it's a "why the poop would you want to go there when you can go to HEAVEN!" kinda thing. Christianity is not by any means to point out people who have done wrong and ostracize them, but realize what you've wrong and ask for forgiveness.

I'm an atheist and I have friends that are also atheist, agnostic, religious, gay/lesbian/bi/straight, girls, boys, black, white, brown. I don't care about unimportant appearances or beliefs - as long as the person has a moral conscience isn't a hypocrite then I can get along with them. I'm a Christian an I always have been. My parents always told me that I choose my religion and they'd support me. Them not forcing me to practice Christianity and that I still believed in God that I knew it was the right one [for me]. I strongly believe now that you should accept that other people are of other cultures, religions and have many different beliefs. Don't ridicule, or discriminate because someone disagrees with your faith. And if they do it to you, ignore it.
I am christian and strongly believe that god loves everybody. Although i dont agree with the bible in many cases i think it can teach us all valuble lessons.
i can't really claim a religion. i feel more atheist than anything. i respect other religions, and want to know more about them, and find it wrong when other people discriminate against them, like Islam,Judaism,Hinduism,Christianity, etc. but i can't say i'm a specific religion, or that i believe in god or many gods.
I'm a Christian myself and I respect other people's beliefs, but I do find that atheism has become the 'fashionable' position to take on the religion question. I've had several dirty looks/laughs from people when I told them I believe in God which was a bit annoying...we're not all crazy Bible preachers who threaten you with Hell if you don't agree with us. I guess my point is, believe what you feel is right, but don't pre-judge or look down on people who don't share your view.

I’m an atheist myself. My grandmother is a hardcore Catholic, and she let her children marry Jews and Atheists. I myself am Jewish, but I don't give a damn about what other people believe. I feel like the world would be an altogether better place if agnostic/atheist people didn't make fun of religion, and religious people didn't make fun of Agnostics/Atheists.
the majority of the family members on my mums side are christians and i see them more often than i do my dad's side. I went to 2 different catholic schools in the span of 9 years, and regularly had to have religion lessons and go to church. My grandparents are against homosexuality, and my grandmother always says things like God wanted it this way and blah blah.
I'm agnostic, my best friend is gay, I'm changing to a public school instead of a catholic one, and my friends are all the same as I :)
the shit thing about some people in the christian faith is the mind control that goes on. people completely forget their morals and what is actually right, and go with what a church elder or their religious area says, because they think its the word of god. if god is real i honestly don't think he'd want that level of control over peoples lives

I mean, yes, as a Christian, I believe he created everything, and you know the whole shpeil, but the whole reason that Christianity is a religion you can choose to worship is because he wants to give us free will. If you choose to accept Christianity, there are, of course, some rules that go along with it, but Christianity isn't about punishing people for their wrongdoings, it's realizing it and trying not to do it.

Im not an atheist, but i also dont have a name for what i believe..believing in karma, in being a good person, that there is something greater than humans (such as love and whatever "created" universe, what makes the atoms spin etc and the meaning of life). I believe in that every human has a soul that has the capability of being good and doing good. i also believe in peace and happiness. i believe in justice. perhaps i should call it "mariawarism" ..lol.
Religion is for people who want quick and simple answers to things they don't know. It also lets them feel like they have something to look forward to after they die, rather than nothing. It is also used to scare little kids, among other things.
Raised Christian. Still believe. I will not ever force upon anyone. But If they want to know what my beliefs are on Christianity are I will tell them. Its everyones personal choice what to believe in. Its never cool for anyone to insult someones religion, be it catholic, Muslim, atheist or christian. I was born and raised a Christian. When I was 12 I was a fairly hardcore Atheist. I am now 13 and I don't give a shit about religion. You hear Christians saying "You'll go to hell if you don't believe in God" or "God hates Atheists" but really, if God was real he wouldn't really hate anyone, would he? And he'd allow us freedom of choice. If he is there and Heaven is real, when I die I'll say a big old sorry, but until I'm shown real proof, I'm happy not believing in anything.

@firething11 Yeah, I have a lot of religious friends, most of which I've met through Youth Groups. It's strange though. Whenever I go to a Church during praying and Bible stuff I always feel like an outcast and unwanted because I go against a lot of old testament rules. Like, I'm bisexual, and the Bible doesn't exactly approve of that. But a good deal of old testament rules are fairly outrageous.

@bluh1233 Ever actually checked the Bible? It is spoken about by Paul, (never addressed by Jesus, so we don't know what he would have said on it) and never says God hates them. Whether it's a sin or not, it never says God hates anyone. Ask those Christians where it actually SAYS "God hates gays".
@bluh1233 It states in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin (1st Corinthians, chapter 6, verse 9). He doesn't hate gays (because He hates nobody), but He instead is very sad for those who disobey Him. Because if you are a gay (in other words, live that sin), you will never truly understand the importance of Christianity (If you really believe in God, you believe the Bible too), and He won't get to see you in heaven, which He wants more than anything, because He loves you with all His heart! =)

I think the reason it's so unpopular is because certain people shove it in everyone else's faces and it puts people off faith in general.

As Christians, we're supposed to be nice to everyone, but there are "Christians" who go around criticizing everyone else and refuse to acknowledge the fact that they do wrong things too, and all sins are the same in God's eyes. Christianity is a source of hope, and it says in the Bible it takes "the faith of a mustard seed" to believe, meaning that however much people try to "prove" us wrong, we know it's not about proving ourselves right, but believing what the Bible and God are right.

Just to clear some stuff up: religion is not a quick and easy explanation of anything; it is neither quick nor easy. As a Christian, it is, indeed, my belief that if you are not Christian, you go to Hell, but it's not a "You're gonna burn in Hell!!" kinda thing, it's a "why the poop would you want to go there when you can go to HEAVEN!" kinda thing. Christianity is not by any means to point out people who have done wrong and ostracize them, but realize what you've wrong and ask for forgiveness.

I'm a Christian an I always have been. My parents always told me that I choose my religion and they'd support me. Them not forcing me to practice Christianity and that I still believed in God that I knew it was the right one [for me]. I strongly believe now that you should accept that other people are of other cultures, religions and have many different beliefs. I'm a Christian myself and I respect other people's beliefs, but I do find that atheism has become the 'fashionable' position to take on the religion question. I've had several dirty looks/laughs from people when I told them I believe in God which was a bit annoying...we're not all crazy Bible preachers who threaten you with Hell if you don't agree with us. I guess my point is, believe what you feel is right, but don't pre-judge or look down on people who don't share your view.

I’m an atheist myself. I respect other people’s religions, I’d never degrade or talk down to anyone’s religious beliefs but I’ve noticed when I mention I don’t believe in God to a person with strong faith, they try to emotionally blackmail me by mentioning stuff like heaven, God judges your actions etc. & it’s put in a way that’s not harsh but pitying.

the majority of the family members on my mums side are christians and i see them more often than i do my dad's side. I went to 2 different catholic schools in the span of 9 years, and regularly had to have religion lessons and go to church. My grandparents are against homosexuality, and my grandmother always says things like God wanted it this way and blah blah.
I'm agnostic, my best friend is gay, I'm changing to a public school instead of a catholic one, and my friends are all the same as I :)

I mean, yes, as a Christian, I believe he created everything, and you know the whole shpeil, but the whole reason that Christianity is a religion you can choose to worship is because he wants to give us free will. If you choose to accept Christianity, there are, of course, some rules that go along with it, but Christianity isn't about punishing people for their wrongdoings, it's realizing it and trying not to do it.

I was born and raised a Christian. When I was 12 I was a fairly hardcore Atheist. I am now 13 and I don't give a shit about religion. You hear Christians saying "You'll go to hell if you don't believe in God" or "God hates Atheists" but really, if God was real he wouldn't really hate anyone, would he? And he'd allow us freedom of choice. If he is there and Heaven is real, when I die I'll say a big old sorry, but until I'm shown real proof, I'm happy not believing in anything.

@firething11 Yeah, I have a lot of religious friends, most of which I've met through Youth Groups. It's strange though. Whenever I go to a Church during praying and Bible stuff I always feel like an outcast and unwanted because I go against a lot of old testament rules. Like, I'm bisexual, and the Bible doesn't exactly approve of that. But a good deal of old testament rules are fairly outrageous.

@Velayasha Well, that'd because the death penalty doesn't apply anymore. Surely if every single human was a hardcore Christian then there'd still be stoning.
I feel like an outcast for not believing and going against any rules that are in the Bible.

Then why do they say God hates gays? If God created everyone individually, why would he hate his own creation? I'm not an Atheist, I just haven't had the chance to ask a level headed Christian about this.

@bluh1233 Ever actually checked the Bible? It is spoken about by Paul, (never addressed by Jesus, so we don't know what he would have said on it) and never says God hates them. Whether it's a sin or not, it never says God hates anyone. Ask those Christians where it actually SAYS "God hates gays".

@bluh1233 It states in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin (1st Corinthians, chapter 6, verse 9). He doesn't hate gays (because He hates nobody), but He instead is very sad for those who disobey Him. Because if you are a gay (in other words, live that sin), you will never truly understand the importance of Christianity (If you really believe in God, you believe the Bible too), and He won't get to see you in heaven, which He wants more than anything, because He loves you with all His heart! =)
