The sound quality on both is about the same, and you can find the LP's on sale all the time on amazon while the LP2's you will have to buy at it's original price ($200). The LP2's also have a bit of a different look on the shields of the ear cups, but otherwise it looks the same as the LP's.

Heres how beats work. you pay about $60 for the headphons and $240 for the name. You minus well make your own pair. However PRO's you pay like $200 for the headphones and $150 for the name. so theyre pretty good :P. But then you can get skullcandy mixmasters which kick the shit out of all beats and even v-modas... theyre $250 but the build quality is bad but not as bad as the beats. :) point is beats suck :D

The sound quality is nowhere close to perfect my friend. I am only 14 years old and I know that beats simply have overpowering bass, which works for some people. But the frequency response is bad, build quality is horrible and extremely overpriced. But if you want tin can sound with a muddy bass, Beats are the way to go (:

@NitroInhale Beats have noise cancelling, crossfades only isolate noise. But really if you want noise cancellation, get bose or even sonys because the studios have pretty bad noise cancellation. Bose headphones have microphones that detect ambient noise, and adjust the frequencies of the cancellation, with beats, its just a consistent hiss, which can get annoying.

Great review, great way for putting these consumer headphones. Also, by thump I think you should identify that you mean punch, cause frequency response wise the studios have more lows, but the crossfade have better cleaner tighter bass.

Everyone needs to get their facts straight before they put their OPINIONS on others. The Beats are made of PLASTIC, plastic can get cold. The V-moda's are made of METAL, not all steel, some is aluminum but ALL METAL, not 100% positive on faceplates though. ALL headphones NEED at LEAST 30 HOURS of burn in before reaching their full potential. BURN IN INCREASING RANG ON THE LOW END, REDUCES RATTLING, AND INCREASES TRANSPARENCY.
