We saw a very long, good French documentary yesterday about evangelical children in the USA. It was very disturbing, like watching Hitler Youth. The kids seemed traumatized by it, too. They are so biddable. The parents and adults involved were scary. The French are also mystified by America's fear of Muslims. I can't believe how the USA has changed since the '80s. People actually think the country was founded in Christianity?

@amy2x I haven't heard this. I'll try to find out. Most of France is totally secular and white. Could be Marseille you are talking about. It is kinda nasty, but the French don't consider that city Europe, they consider it North Africa. I think a huge mosque is about to go up in my nabe. I like Muslims and have learned a lot from them. I consider myself a sister of Fatima. I can't find anything in the Coran which irks me. So far. Still studying.

I think you're mixing narratives. Although I don't care for socialistic activities of any type, I will say that most older Germans with whom I've spoken say that "Hitler Youth" was one of the best aspects of "Nazi" Germany.
