  • take care and thanks for watching.

  • You have an amazing voice.

  • Thank you very much

  • Thank you for sharing this BamBam8993, love the song. I am also surprised, as well as a little disappointed, that the last verse of this song is often removed - these are my favorite lines of the entire song. Praise to the Father, Christ Jesus and the Spirit!

  • Thank you so much for watching!

  • Many christian groups today arent noticed by their love like true christians should be. Churches today seem to focus on material things, and spreading false teachings in order to gain those material things...The son of god must be at the door...Excellent rendition and beautiful note at the end there!

  • Churches are seen in the media as pharisaical people who give excuses for their sins but are quick to judge someone else. Christians need to take a stand and show love, mercy and forgiveness and maybe the media will show what we can be. Thank you very much for watching.

  • great rendition! i love the acoustic

  • thank you

  • We sang this as the recessional hymn at Mass today. It gets you thinking, doesn't it? I really like the part on verse two: "And together we'll spread the news that God is in our land." Wonderful singing. I might listen to this over and over, haha. Keep it up! God Bless.

  • Spreading the news of God by our love not our hatred or disagreements. Yeah it does get you thinking whether or not Christians are spreading messages of love and what we are doing in God's name... Thanks for watching.

  • i love this song. it makes me all teary eyed. they sang this at one of my relatives funerals. i was too young to remember... Wonderful singing, by the way!

  • I never heard it at a funeral. I can imagine the impact. Thanks for watching.

  • wow....awsomness.

  • thanks

  • I remember singing this at mass, and then going back to class and experiencing the "love " of the Marist brothers canings and public ridicule. On multiple occasions.

  • okay

  • yeah it rocks my world man...thank u...this is my first week turning my life around to god after so many years of drug abuse and this song really inspires me....yep wish it were longer:)

  • Peace. Thanks for watching

  • Wish it was longer. You sound great man!

  • Thank you very much.

  • i see this may be a little late, but i have heard the song sung by the choir singing all verses, skipping either verse 2 or 3, which is a worthy compromise.

  • I would skip the middle verse if there needs to be a compromise.

  • The choir of which I'm part also cut the last verse, and I'm happy to explain why

A: we are a youth choir, with some members who don't speak any English and they couldn't pronounce it at all or just not at the speed and melody of our version which is slightly different.

B: time. If a song is too long and we have the 10 am Mass, the priest will sometimes ask us to shorten our songs so he can be on the other side of town at 11.25 to prepare for his next Mass at 11.30(2(now 3) priests/7 churches)

  • I understand your reasoning, but I do not agree with it. The last verse expresses the faith in which we are baptized. It is a perfect teaching point for people of all ages and all backgrounds. To delete it strictly on the point that the choir can not pronounce it due to a language barrier may be an opportunity to maybe learn it in their language to bridge the gap.

  • they tried that, the rest of the choir refuses to sing it in dutch because we hate singing dutch (and strongly diskike all the changes made to our songs because that one particular alto can't sing it and just refused to cater to the annoyingly hyper girl's wishes, after years it becomes old)

We also feel that we make a difference by singing in english, because most other masses are dutch or latin 100%

  • Time is an issue all churches deal with and I am a bit surprised that the religious leaders would agree to delete a song verse which expresses the faith. I just do not understand cutting something that is a minute at best. One can look into ways to administer the eucharist that would cut more than a minute.

  • they dont delete that verse, they just say that we need to cut back on song time

but since all our songs have meaningful last verses, our director chooses the ones most likely to be messed up..

did I also mention it happens regularuly that our director has the 10-11.15 mass in one church and the 11.30-12.45 mass in the other church? and you need to be present half an hour early for voice exercise. also me, when I needed to sing the 10am childrens mass and the 1130 with the youth choir

  • Do they omit the 3rd verse or not? I am confused. My point in doing the song is many Christian churches and performers omit the 3rd verse, deleting the expression of faith. That was my point. I have no problem with deleting verse to save time especially if the verse ommitted does take away the meaning of the hymn.

  • if that certain alto is present, its omitted

they dont want choir riots during mass so they dont bother trying to sing it

if she is present she complains if we sing it, if we sing it in another language the total soprano group shuts their mouth and doesnt open it (and the soprano's are 80% of the volume in 35% of the choir)

If she isn't present they see if there is time

because they don't want fe a communion song being only halfway through when everything is cleaned up already...

  • Sounds like the issues of your choir singing the song really has nothing to do with ommiting or deleting verses for religious reasons but due to some disgruntledness with a particular choir member. The reasoning of my point was strictly theological and liturgical not practical and group dynamics.

  • i actually just sang this in youth group i had to learn it to sing in the main room for adults it was scary but i new that gawd is with me and always be with me

  • Take Care

  • I love this song of praise, thanks for sharing :)

  • Thanks for watching

  • That was AWESOME. Five Stars man, good job.

  • Thanks!

  • Amen to that! Keep the Trinity verse in there it belongs there!

  • Yes! I guess I tire over the need to take it out. Thanks for watching!

  • I like the original too, Jason Upton has one I like too, it's more of a melody of two songs I think.

  • Yeah a lot of people mix in Awesome God or something like that with it. I just prefer the original because the word say so much to me.

  • THANK YOU!

  • THANK YOU!

  • thanks for watching!

  • I did not mean to write this twice. I shared your song with my Christian friends in Finland. You are famous :)

  • LOL! It's okay. share to all!

  • I, ultraprotestan learned this song in the charismatic catholic prayer group where I have attended for 10 years. I was speaking about RESPECT to my Finnish christian friends and remembered this song. Tried to find in in youtube and picked yours :)

  • your lucky im catholic but we have no charismatic prayer group but i want to join one

  • It really depends on where you are located as the charismatic movement of the 70's touch all main Christian faiths. The Roman Catholic church has published several masses that are responses to the movement.

  • ty again you have a fantasic voice and this should be everywhere

  • Thanks for watching.

  • love your version..love your voice

  • Thanks! Peace and Love

  • awesome.

  • Thanks for watching.

  • what a great message. and very nice voice. I wish all people that claim themselves christians would follow this song. otherwise they just stain the name. thank you for giving the true meaning of what christian looks like. God bless your path. and may you reach many people with this message

  • Thanks! Many people fail to recognize that actions speak louder than words. The reason there is such a stain on the Christian faith is because of the actions of some. Peace be with you.

  • hey thanks for posting man

  • Thanks for watching

  • amazing job thanks for the chords too i love how you had all the verses not just like 2 this song is so beautiful and true thanks

  • thanks

  • Sweet song, dude, this really sounds like something I would hear people play in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, or some Slavic European country where I was a missionary.

Good job, dude, keep it up!

  • I forgot about this song Brian. Thanks for bringing back good memories from my youth."hugs"

  • hugs back. take care

  • Right on Brother.

  • Thank you much

  • we sang that one in youth group too! and we sang the last verse ;)

  • Great! It bothers me that many of these christian rock groups omit it. It would have been nice if they would have stayed to the original writer's message. Poetic license I guess. . .

  • Amen

  • Thank you very much

  • I enjoyed that and the message is powerful.

  • Thanks

  • Bravo Brian! The TRUE Christian message! Yes, we too often forget the simplicity of Jesus' message and get caught up in judgment of each other. It is when we love each other, despite our humanity and imperfection, we will see His message come to fruition. Thank you!!!!!

    International Standard Version (©2008)

Above all, continue to love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.

  • Thanks. It's the parochialism of all faiths that tends to get us in trouble. Out of fear of being influenced by people outside of the faith many feel the need to only stay "within" the group. But then how does the faith grow?

  • Absolutely beautiful, Brian!

  • Thanks Marc. Take Care

  • beautiful!

  • Thanks

  • *****

  • I that suppose to be five stars? LOL Thanks love.

  • yup!

  • Thanks love

  • We use to sing that in youth group also.:)

  • Thanks. I remember we had a lesson and my youth advisor (who I think was a hippie at one time)told us the meaning of the song. When I see contemporary groups do it today, I am amazed because they have totallly changed the meaning. They rarely do the last verse.

  • I always enjoy hearing you sing....very nice voice

  • Thanks

  • thanks

  • that is beauitful
