Il fraseggio sensazionale,la sicurezza assoluta della lingua,sia essa italiano o francese..la consapevolezza totale della profondità del personaggio..la Callas è l'Assoluta di ogni tempo..basta sentire!!!..Ci ha sbalorditi con le arditezze vocali dei tempi giovanili quando nessun canto le era precluso..e affascinato completamente con la raffinatezza degli anni maturi....le altre cantanti deliziano l'orecchio..solo lei scende fino all'animo e lo sconvolge!!

@MariaCallasLegend ...but side by side Jessye Norman, you can hear that one is a soprano and the other the true mezzo. By the 60s, her voice had taken the back seat to her obsession with Onasis, and for that she was soon to pay dearly.

Un'intera carriera di registrazioni dal vivo di Maria Callas è lì a testimoniare che di "manipolazioni" ce ne sono veramente pochine. Comunque, un fenomeno assoluto come la Callas non lo inventi certo coi "trucchi"... :-)

Auch als Opernlaie muß ich sagen: Diese Dramatik und der Schmerz auf den Stimmbändern sind absolut ergreifend. Was für sie einen realen, tragischen Hintergrund hatte, spiegelt sich in ihrer Stimme auf einmalige Art wieder. Einfach toll!

I saw her in Tosca about 50 years ago. Until then I did not know someone could sing, act and cause such an impression that when she stabs Scarpia I was sure the audience would be next. I was 12 at the time and the impact she caused on me and my life was profound and lasting. She was not the greatest actress ever, nor was her voice the most beautiful. But the two together elevated her to a place that few artists have reached. She was one of the greatest artists of all time.
