  • When you listen to music like this.... It feels like its in you (If you know what I mean) Like it comes from the heart and it takes you back but its such a shame that in most bands like this well most of them have passed away its very sad to know they won't make any other song again so ... R.I.P all x

  • This is a buried gem. Different than most blues being in a minor key espec. for the time. Fito's jazz style drumming and of course The Owl and The Bear plus Vestine's amphetamine runs. Classic

  • which scale is the bassline ? Is it mixolydian or pentatonic ?

  • Bob was The Bear!Bob was...the Man!!

  • i like the woodstock version better, but still, badass song

  • Great Canned Heat track! R.I.P. Bob Hite.

  • Yes Kynatics, that's exactly how Bob Hite died,Read Fito Book livin' the blues he goes into detail of what happen the night Bob Hite died.If the drugs didn't get him,his weight problems surely wood have,he was in very poor health at the time he died.

  • anyone know where the bear's final resting place is? california, i think, but where? thanks. rock on.

  • Wait..is "heart attack" a euphemism for "Heroine overdose"? coz I think that's how he died.

  • @Kynatics can't answer your euphemism question, but my recollection is the Bear was doing some drugs at the time he crossed the great divide. damn things are rarely useful, the illegal sort, anyway.

  • @Kynatics He died of a heart attack in 1981 from years of obesity and cocaine use.

  • @Kynatics He died of a heart attack in 1981 from years of obesity and cocaine use.

  • I dig this song.

  • The Woodstock version is MUCH MUCH better!!

  • Alan is the one playing the harp, I know...I chose this song because I love Bob's vocals in it, and, the lyrics of the song.

  • no it,s alan playing the harp

  • Yeah... The bear was great... But around 1980 was another tragic period for music, we lost John Lennon and Bob Marley...

  • indeed...things happen in threes, good and bad.

  • kinda like Janis, Jimi and Jim morrison 1970-1971. we lost 3 of the genius J's.

  • @jenzeppelin the Blind Owl also passed away in 1970 I believe

  • @babaoreily93

    and Bon Scott!

  • The Bear is the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've seen them play for about 2 years ago in Regensburg Bavaria and although nobody of the old band participated due to death or whatever happened to them, it was the best concert ever! if they'd come near your town go and see them or youll miss one of the greatest band ever!

    peace

  • @sayyadina187

They still play with three of the ones who were there on woodstock, Fito, the mol and smb else...

  • @FLIPPERKUNST I'd love to be able to see them perform one day, but, I am miles and miles and a country away from them.

  • @jenzeppelin

me too mate, but check the list where they play etc. I'm from Belgium and i had the luck to see them play on a free concert; here, next to the sea. It was awesome!

  • so nobody is fooled it is not the bear playing that harp
