Adobe after effects is just hard to use i use adobe after effects and sony vegas because i cant really use adobe after effects its just hard in my case but i try :)

For example, Steinberg Nuendo, Sonar and other sound editing programs have timelines, keyframing capabilities and ALSO allow importing of videos and basic editing of the video like trimming to help sound designers to mix sound for video. Would you call Nuendo or Sonar video editing programs?? I don't think so...

After Effects allows editing BUT it's not primarily an editing software. In Premiere, you can see the transitions for video and audio clips, the classic editing tools, the built-in vectorscope monitor (used to make sure the hue-saturation is 'safe' for TV broadcasting) the capture and export features, so you can organize reels from film takes to edit them.
