"My God, my God, why have you never forsaken me?" I can not even begin to answer that question, I just know my Savior in unabashedly besotted with me. His Grace chasing me down the road, repeatedly calling out my name like a jilted lover bolting down the steps of a church on our wedding day in a manic and frantic search for his bride, refusing to let me out of his sight, let alone out of his life forever. What can I say but "I, who chose to betray my Lord for much less than Judas, cries"
Every time I listen to this I get extremely sad. But, it always reminds me that the pain and sadness gives us eternal life in Heaven. Praise the Lord.
Beautiful. Praise our Lord Jesus who's grace is greater than our sin. Have mercy on me O God, according to your loving kindness, according to your abundant mercy. For I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me; cleanse me from my iniquity and create in me a clean heart O God! Let the bones that you have broken rejoice-for you desire truth in the inward being. Arise O God! For you will inherit the earth. Arise O Lord! For you judge the earth And all people will see your glory!
I´ve seen him live 3 times, one with John Michael Talbot. His music comes right from the very heart of God. And I say he´s the best ever because unlike other great Christian musicians, his music touches every soul, even unvelievers. It happened to me precisely with this song when I was an unbeliever. Dittos.
I can say AMEN AMEN AMEN to that 1minidisco! I only saw him live once when he came to King College in Bristol, TN. It was great. I could stay in that concert all night because it was wonderful. THE MAN DOES SING FROM THE BOTTOM OF HIS HEART...MAY GOD BLESS HIM AND KEEP HIM HUMBLE.
Michael Card is my favorite singer. Since I became a born again Christian his music touched my heart. I think he is a man of humble spirit and noble heart!!!
Hi there, I'm so glad you've discovered one of my favorite modern psalmists ... If you haven't found it yet, check out Michael Card's, GOD'S OWN FOOL, gives a perspective of foolishness that is indescribable to "foolishness" ... be blessed!
Abraham came out of his UR government it's religion it's society so did Noah his and so did Moses his Egypt
Y'shua The Messiah a Hebrew man with a Hebrew Name, also came out of His lands government religion and society, He practiced the religion He preached in Rev 18:4
Your jesus is a false name by an fake author since Y'shua appears over 200 times in the Old Testament, and the name jesus not once
Who were the jews supposed to be looking for, a English letter "J" name, no Hebrew letter?
"In God we trust" written on the dollar bill which pays for the abortion and the divorce God said He hated both, and then when the super religious claim they are not apart of this evil, they spend the very same dollar on a war killing their enemy while their Saviour jesus tells them in Matthew 5:40-44, commanind to love thy enemy, and the word "kill" never appears in the verse.
To love someone is the oppostie of killing them!!!
hey janeygirl14, what do you think you might've stolen with this comment? Think about being a lifter-upper rather than a downer-taker ... cause that's the way the Uppertaker did ...
Jesus sacrificial love is beautifully questioned by this song. Michael Card's music is so deeply rooted in God's word. It touches my heart and makes me see some Bible passages in a whole new perspective.
the woman sings with such pation it brings a tear to my eye. michael card you have changed my life in so many ways, ur music touches me in many places other music couldnt. god bless you michael. god to extra time making you, so talented and handsome.
Michael is an amazing man. a true reflection of God and wow, the woman is an amazing singer with true passion in her heart. i love this stuff. its such a blessing!
j3sfreak Michael Card's music...this song especially brought me such peace after my husband was killed in an accident. Michael is being used by God to sing for His Glory. Thank you for posting.
There are sooooo many prophecies from the Bible that have actually happened! More prophecies than any other religion...(that doesn't follow the Bible)
You cannot prove the "Jesus of the Bible" is fiction anymore than I can prove He's fact, so you are left to your opinion, and I to mine. Likewise, I am left to my experience (not pretending) with Him, which you cannot disprove either, but which, again I cannot prove. Further debate is pointless, but I will say that, someday, we'll both know for sure, huh? I cannot recall the exact quote, but someone said something like, "I'd rather live my life for Him and be wrong than NOT and be wrong."
It's not pointless. It stops readers being drawn into your cult and being brainwashed as you have been, and it helps them learn to think for themselves rather than simply believing what they are told by mischievous clerics. I say god-based religion is a load of old nonsense, and the burden of proof is on you to show it isn't if you claim it isn't, and you won't be able to discharge that burden of proof. The gospels are a fraud, designed to make citizens behave better, and belong in the dustbin.
As for "someday we'll both know for sure", no we won't. That's a clever deceit of religion, to postpone knowledge to a "heaven/hell" beyond the grave which in fact no one ever reaches.
The gospels have been constructed in reverse. The question is asked:- what messages need be given to the citizens to program them to live as better people in the hope of making civilisation work?, - and the gospels are those messages, supported by party tricks ("miracles") to authenticate the lead character.
So, what do you believe happens "beyond the grave?" Anything? Nothing?
And what would you suggest to make civilisation "work?" Again, I ask, if the gospels were designed for the purpose you suggest, then why do its followers so often find themselves so counter to "civilisation?"
Nothing happens "beyond the grave", musicalman. Our consciousness fades to nothing at the point of death, and that's the end for each of us. Finito!
Love would make civilisation work - the message of the gospels - but human beings are a defective product in that respect, which is why civilisation fails to work. We are essentially lazy, selfish, unenlightened and dishonest, etc - the message the author(s) behind the gospels spell out. Thus civilisation doesn't work. It's a broken thing.
The "party tricks" didn't happen, j3freak. They don't have to actually happen, if you put them in a book buried 2000 years back in time. Any author can have his protagonist turning water into wine, bringing people back from the dead, walking on water, and doing whatever other wondrous things he chooses: that's the nature of fiction. They are designed to deceive the gullible, and you show the design works.
Get it?
No? Some people never get it do they? That's why religion has power over them.
#1 - It's not "my" cult. #2 - A "cult" by broadest definition, is any group which holds a set of beliefs, so most everyone is in a "cult" of some type - even you. #3 - I have not been brainwashed, and have a very diverse religious background. I've studied all major world religions and was formerly active in New Age and Wicca, until I discovered the truth of Christianity. And that I did through personal EXPERIENCE with Jesus, and not, as you say by listening to any "mischevous clerics."
Mischevious clerics--about whom, it might surprise you to learn, I agree with you on this one point. I believe no one should listen to them, but each should seek and study for himself. #4 - I could get into a debate of "proof" with you, but it would be pointless. I could dig up the three or four traditional proofs of God, with which I'm sure you are already familiar, and point out that it is impossible for you to prove a negative, but again, what's the point?
Yeah, the Jesus of the Bible is proved to have lived and stuff but this is not the thing to hold on to cuz christian faith is belief in things we can't see actually. Once you've come to that experience you can't deny it and it's real 2 u. Any other way, like musicalman77 said... it's pointless.
Really, it doesn't. Cuz what we speak of is from our own experience - which we can't prove 2 u, but is fact to us. You, on the other hand, can't speak on the basis of something proven to be true (either) so u don't add up 2 anything proving the things u say, helping people "think". I have the right to say whatever I want, even try and "draw" people to my belief, it's their job to do the thinking. But then, when people come to the God of the Bible, it's something more than brain working in them.
The Jesus of the bible is a character of fiction. The kiss, the crown and the cross are ingredients of the fiction. That's why. He's an absolute. He isn't a real person. Get it yet?
Actually, he was not fictional. Many ancient historians attest to the historicity of Jesus of Nazareth. He is mentioned in several extra-biblical sources including Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, Pliny and Tacitus, among many others as being a historical person (and one mentions the darkness at his crucifixion). Besides...He is risen and I know Him personally!
But if you think it's a load of crap, why are you here watching this video???
I said "The Jesus of the bible is a character of fiction." The guy who performs magic tricks (water to wine, shopping feeds 5k, man back from the dead, etc) and gives us all the so-wise words. Pure fiction. So to have a song asking why this, why that, is simply silly. This and that are because the author(s) wrote the character that way! That was my point. The lyrics are therefore a load of crap.
How can I know something is a load of crap before watching it?
I KNOW! The problem is, I lost that cd a long time ago and can't find it anywhere except on the internet... and I have no money and I don't believe my dad and mom will buy it for me from the Net. :sobs: lol
Every one looks great, I drive a 18 wheeler his music is what I listen to. A-men, If you ever need some one to hall you're stuff around let me know, Love ya bro"
LOVE THIS! Beautifully played and sung. I remember this oldie but goodie so well, but have not heard it recently, until someone told me about it.

Revelation 18:4 commands to "come out" of "her" the babylon.
Babylon Iraq of ancient, had a government, and religion, and a society.
America does as well
Rev 18:4 The Her is, one own "her" nation of government, religion, and society
America is so confused over it's thousands of differeing faiths and belief religions, it knows not what it's national religion is
Irregardless, to come out means, government, religion, and society
Come out was to late when no one listened to Noah

I said "The Jesus of the bible is a character of fiction." The guy who performs magic tricks (water to wine, shopping feeds 5k, man back from the dead, etc) and gives us all the so-wise words. Pure fiction. So to have a song asking why this, why that, is simply silly. This and that are because the author(s) wrote the character that way! That was my point. The lyrics are therefore a load of crap.
How can I know something is a load of crap before watching it?

2-questions:
1. Who is the female vocalist?
2. When/Where did this concert take place?
I've been listening to Phil Keaggy & Michael Card for 26+ years and never knew they toured/played together.
Thank you for posting.
