My Boxer was 1 yr old when my friend started bringing her 8 wk old grandson over for me to watch, My Boxer loved him from the start. Now Aaron is 2 1/2 and each time he comes for a visit she thinks he is her baby. She just loves him so much. She wiggles with joy, and he has a smile as big as his little face. Boxers are great with babies. She watched over him when he napped.
This makes me sad my parents had two boxers and we grew up with the one since i was 11. Last month she died she was awesome with my son now who is almost two. But She lived to be 15 years old which is pretty amazing because most boxers die around the age of ten. But i have to say and a lot of people dont agree but boxers are the most patient dog that i have seen with a baby!

@JaXy1337 If you think that then you're a moron, Boxers are guard dogs, I've had many Boxers throughout my life and never once have I been bitten by mine or anyone else's for that matter. If anything this Boxer will develop a bond with the child and would sacrifice itself for the child's safety. That being said, it's still nature vs nurture, however I still have 99% confidence in my statement.
@Neyonius I completely agree. I was a dog trainer before I joined the military and every dog is different. They have certain breed characteristics (Border Collies herd, Grey Hounds chase, Labs retrieve, etc) however each level of socialization depends on the owner. Right on EttaAlex for raising your baby with a dog! Too many families don't do that enough now-a-days. Just be sure you properly socialize. Good luck!

@funguy7979 I know exactly what you mean, I've had 4 boxers in my life, and they all are loyal to death, and the most fun loving dogs ever!!! Great with kids and the longest tounges!!
@EttaAlex Don't just think your dog will do good with your baby because you see this boxer behaving well with a baby. All dogs are different breed doesn't matter. Make sure you social your dog with children before the baby comes. Most dogs are fine with kids, its like they have a sense that it's their master's child, part of them. But you can never be too careful!
@LIMetalManiac all dogs are nice with babies and kids, some are just more tolerant than others, my neighbor had a pitbull and a chihuahua, the chihuahua could not stand the children for more than 20 mins and wanted to bite them, the pitbull on the other hand was very gentle and patient :)

This makes me sad my parents had two boxers and we grew up with the one since i was 11. Last month she died she was awesome with my son now who is almost two. But She lived to be 15 years old which is pretty amazing because most boxers die around the age of ten.
