@dookiekong007 Its my opinion... and my taste of music.. I know their different, This rendition is much more complicated than richard's, which is much more simpler, The similarity for me is the arpeggios which richard uses on most of his pieces and also the violins on the background. So for me, My OPINION.. better than richard's..
P.S. IM A MASSIVE FAN OF RCHARD CLAYDERMAN.. and envies how he plays.. so dont get me wrong.. Im not a hater...
Jon England got his start very little, being coached by his grandpa. Interestingly, he never had a formal lesson and plays strictly by ear. His YT page, jonengland, says he's 48 now, so just over 40 years.
WOW. great job but i think that he put a lot of notes and he lost the meaning of the song. it's great but...i don't know. i prefer the other version that i've heard.
but about his left hand... I think his left hand is a bit amateurish. he relies more on the background music. but i know... the arrpegios are hard to do, and he is good just for that.
Criticism is welcome. You do very well for 12 years old. Do you like Clayderman's music? I don't. I have some but I don't think he plays the piano very well. He relies on the background music, plays with one finger, then does the same arpeggio in every song. Thanks for commenting.
U know I rewatched this when played on my automatic list & his left hand looks like it stays very busy to me. Seeing the reflection of it in the piano helps. I always wanted that kind of grand.
Well...I think it is overdone. The begginning was good. But I can't understand the climax. It consisted of too much arppeggios. The melody can't be heard clearly.
pianoplaylist, could you please tell me if there is the sheet music available for THIS EXACT VERSION!!! oooh i love this song so much, you would help me greatly if you knew :) thx
this guy has friggen TALENT! i mean, wow... absolutely breathtaking... <3
I so agree with you about his talent. I can tell you there is no sheet music for this version; for the man playing plays strictly by ear and doesn't read music.
I've just seen your request for the 'sheet' of my arrangement of this piece - if you like to send me a message with your e-mail address, I'll gladly send it to you. I can't read it but I had an orchestra director 'score' it for me, direct from my recording. Jon
Differing opinions and debates are always welcome on my page as long as their respectful. I feel yours is mistaken in the strongest sense of the word.
Jon's story of how his father had him practice is incredible. His music truly does give praise to God, as you have said. Don't believe it can't be learned. But it takes hours and hours of daily practice. I'm practicing the runs and arpeggios with a metronome getting faster and faster. I have no musicians in my family. It's learned. God gives one the gift, but that one must develop it him or herself.
I disagree. If they were midi'd strings mimicking his every note, that would be tacky, but I don't the strings are overdone here. To each his opinion, I guess.
Isn't it, though? I don't know why he's not more widely known. In some ways his technique is superior to Liberace's. (Some people aren't going to like that I said that.) And he is not a Liberace imitator like David Lomascola and so many others that imitate Liberace astoudningly well. Even some amateurs on YouTube imitate Liberace note for note astoundingly well. Personally, I would rather glean from his techiques as I continue to develop my own style. That's what Jon England did.

The synthesized strings add to the overall effect of highly processed cheese. This is an overdose in tackiness....

I agree
its such a beautiful song.
And the strings and light drums made it sound like it was played at a cheesy wedding
The song has such an incredible untertone to it, its hard to hear with so many synthesized instruments over the raw peice.
HreNmyhead 3 years ago
You misunderstand his music. He is creating lighthearted-feeling, easy listening. That's all. Don't take it so seriously.

my favorite part was when he played the ending part (where he seems to be playing with the piano), around 2:24.

That's the part where he plays Fast arpeggios
brentbanaagbaab 3 years ago 2
Yeah...he's amazing. That part there is mesmerizing. He said it takes a lifetime of practice to get a song to where it looks effortless.
