I saw it back in 93 when it was on TBS at 12 with Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival, American Pop and Rock and Rule as those movies ruled my world and loved them since, i even made a copy of the uncut R&R movie at 13 and now replaced it with the 2-disc DVD and the same for the others except for Robot Carnival which i copied on DVD-R since it's not on DVD. Do you this movie is up there with Akira, Ghost in The Shell, Wizards, Ninja Scroll, Beowulf etc. in terms of not for kids toons
Indeed! do you think this movie and the comics inspired Avatar and The Fifth Element? both movies were like big screen issues of the magazine come to life. James Cameron is a huge fan of this movie and the comics as he used them as inspiration to Avatar, i mean Avatar had it all with sexy alien ladies with tits almost showing, weird worlds, surrealism, warriors, Sci-fi fantasy etc. and both HM and Avatar appeal to my former teenage brain as i'm 28 years old.
I'd think so. As a matter of fact, I see a lot of influences from Heavy Metal in Avatar and the Fifth Element, with the exception of the rock and roll/heavy metal music. It's amazing how things can influence the imagination of others.
It's like Cameron made a combination of Dances with Wolves, Heavy Metal, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (aka Warriors of the Wind), Star Wars, Dune, Ferngully, Princess Mononoke, Fantastic Planet, Wizards, Lawrence of Arabia, LightYears, Starchaser Legend of Orin, Castle in The Sky, Star Trek 6, Willow, Totoro and Last of the Mohicans in one movie and it was a tasty cocktail.
Whoa =o....I read your name as "DJ Calculus Tracks" .... And this game looks like a stoned adventure. :)

It's quite tame compared to extremely raunchy animated sex and gore feasts like Urotsukidoji Legend of the Overfiend, i dare you to see that one.

Rocking song! "Radar Rider" by "Riggs" from the original Heavy Metal is a definite classic. Those kinds of songs never grow old. At least not for me.
