I could make one just as good that uses no gears. It just uses a basic semi auto mechanism with a 4-toothed spindle made out of two of those corner Technic pieces.

wow mine shoots like 40-60ft max and is dead accurate at less then 20 ft this gun owns

I was having problems with this as two rubber bands would always fly off at once since the bands I used were too big for the cog so I moved onto just using the rubber bands loaded onto the escapement mech (over the prongs and round the axle) which worked much better but loading more than 3 or 4 bands would break the mech (actually broke my Y piece although I had spares) so I attached the Y piece to a cog and geared it down by a third and attached that to a single pronged mech.

basically, the force of the rubber bands on the gear is making it want to turn the gear. This force is also applied to the other gears which are connected to the one with the rbs on it, and the triangle is connected to that. Basically, the L shaped piece next to the triangle stops it from turning until the trigger is pulled, but than the next triangle spoke is caught in the L piece, making it semi auto.

nah, it exist many other videos on youtube about Lego RBG mechanism'. You should be able to find one that can be made with the parts you have, otherwise, try invent your own! :)

The mechanism is simple, once you understand it you can build with other parts.
