I'll have you know that I live in Georgia. One of the WORST states to be a black person in, and we have VERY strong wards of all black sisters and brothers, as well as wards with both races. In fact, I just got home 10 minutes ago from eating dinner with black sister and her family of 4 (including her), and she is just one of around 5 families that are black in our ward. We do not segregate in our church. The Atlanta Ward is the perfect example of black people enjoying the gospel.

I'll have you know that I live in Georgia. One of the WORST states to be a black person in, and we have VERY strong wards of all black sisters and brothers, as well as wards with both races. In fact, I just got home 10 minutes ago from eating dinner with black sister and her family of 4 (including her), and she is just one of around 5 families that are black in our ward. We do not segregate in our church. The Atlanta Ward is the perfect example of black people enjoying the gospel.

Where did I say that I was black? I'm as white as they come. And no, we don't preach that the black people are cursed. The reason African Americans weren't given the priesthood is because it was socially awkward for African Americans to hold any type of leadership, and we didn't want to bring any more persecution on us. our mormon god as you say is the same as yours and yes god cursed people with white skin to dark he didnt curse them from the priesthood they just wernt aloowed in the beginnings of the church they are now accepted we are not racist and love all human beings

Ilegalplayer... It is clear that many words have been spoken. Words thrown across the board and some very harsh. and others a bit rude on both ends. Personally I do not know why some areas were not permitted to obtain what we know as the priesthood. There was a recording as to when they announced in Africa (I will have to double check where) when they announced the update on those of dark coloured skin that they could receive it, if they were individually worthy to do so.

They all were shouting for joy and praising heaven for that opportunity. The priethood is something that is very sacred. we believe it is that authority given to man to act in Gods name. I understand in the bible that as moses led the people through the red sea they killed all the wicked that tried to attack them. Is it so bad to have a tanned skin and live as appose to death itself? I say this so casually because I too have dark skin. The priesthood of god is real. It is on this earth.
