The mod isn't dead there is a group of us that still play, join the science and industry group on steam to know when we play. We always gather on Sundays at 9pm GMT to play usually on the US Server sometimes the EU Server.

woo! I havent played SI in forever! I remember back in the day when the brain gun still looked like the egon gun hehe. These tut videos are superb and its awesome that SI didnt really die with the 1.0 release :D

Yeah there's a bloom effect, it can be activated from the options. It's not on by default because on some machines it can reduce heavily the number of frames per second.
