@finnessey32 haha there is nothing unreliable about my old ranger with the 2.3l 4 banger. i could talk all day about it's reliability. i bought it with 150,000 miles on it and i've tried to blow it up but i haven't been successful. chevy's 4.3 v6 is also bulletproof and hell dodge's 318 v8 is known to rack up the miles. the point is that american auto companies make great motors and i could pick anyone of these 3 motors and be very happy with it and avoid a lot of maintenance

@Craig123Jesus the 3.0 and 3.2 were made by yamaha in japan they were supposed to use the Vulcan engine block but Yamaha laughed at ford and the only thing they really share is the block length. Your thinking of the V8 SHO ware fored fucked up and had the heads made by Yamaha only ford made the block and failed at life. On this video it really sounds like the engine just sized from heat give it a few hours, it still works if it threw a rod the engine would have been kicking badly...

@Craig123Jesus I had a 92' SHO. No torque/balls lol. It made a great winter car though, and when I was driving from Akron Ohio to Fort Wayne Indiana every week, it was a decent highway car. Thought the entire engine was Yamaha though? Only real trouble I had with it was a sensor wire rubbing on the crank pulley would cause stumbling and stalls til it was found and corrected. Slight smoking on hard acceleration when the butterflies opened. Never blew up though.

I'm a Honda guy and i think Ford surpasses both GM and Chrysler in reliability by a huge margin.
Dodge quality is just a joke. It seems like they used the cheapest materials in their cars so that it barely holds the it together. Then when you try to remove a part, all the fucking bolts break like they were made of plastic, and i speak from experience. Not to mention that every part i ever took off said on it "Made in Mexico".
The 3.0L "Vulcan" engines will go 300,000 miles if you take care of them, this is just nonsense here, what was the purpose of wrecking this motor? And, "that's a Ford for you" has nothing to do with it, Ford is the best thing going. A motor that siezes up fast with no oil or coolant means it was a tight motor with little clearance- if you take one or two items out of the equasion, like oil and coolant, then it takes no time to sieze it. if its a shitty motor that goes forever with no oil thats when you know its got sloppy clearance in the motor..
If you can hear there is already engine damage, all you did was make it worse, try one that doesn't have damage to it and you'll be shocked how long it lasts >:)
@MrTpengineer that engine damage sound is the cams.... most cars have this sound that have high mileage, its due to poor oil circulation from the oil reserve to the lifters and doesnt give it proper lubrication. what your hearing the cam lobes hiting the rockers dry... then stopping because the pistions have now formed a spot weld to the cylinder walls.
I remember the video like this where they drained the coolant and oil from a Mercedes 240D and put water in the crankcase. Only difference was, even though it was a diesel and shouldn't have liked to rev like a gasser, it lasted over 9 minutes at full throttle. Not less than 1. Oh well, that's Ford. Selling underengineered crap for 100 years thanks to our protectionist government.

The 3.0L "Vulcan" engines will go 300,000 miles if you take care of them, this is just nonsense here, what was the purpose of wrecking this motor? And, "that's a Ford for you" has nothing to do with it, Ford is the best thing going. Must be because of the high unemployment rate in Ohio, these hillbillies could not afford to buy oil, or coolant for this vehicle. A damn shame.

Well that does it i'm taking the for sale signs off my 2000 Vulcan LS if this is whats going to happen to it then im sticking the 3,000 dollars for a new tranny from jasper + newer trans cooler and radiator. I love my ford and will keep it for ever. It's a shame these cars last forever if well maintained but nope just because the tranny decides to crap out( Due to neglect and improper care) people go and abuse these cars and scrap them. I like how it's always the most bogan/redneck bunch of the lot fighting over Ford vs GM/Holden. Most of the time both sides come up with the most stupid reasons as to why the other brand is better. This video and it's comments are a perfect example. - My bogan friend thinks his 2ZJ is 'bulletproof' and he doesn't need to run the correct AF Ratios, and can run the cheapest fuel he can find in it. A motor that siezes up fast with no oil or coolant means it was a tight motor with little clearance- if you take one or two items out of the equasion, like oil and coolant, then it takes no time to sieze it. if its a shitty motor that goes forever with no oil thats when you know its got sloppy clearance in the motor..

@MrTpengineer that engine damage sound is the cams.... most cars have this sound that have high mileage, its due to poor oil circulation from the oil reserve to the lifters and doesnt give it proper lubrication. what your hearing the cam lobes hiting the rockers dry... then stopping because the pistions have now formed a spot weld to the cylinder walls.

I remember the video like this where they drained the coolant and oil from a Mercedes 240D and put water in the crankcase. Only difference was, even though it was a diesel and shouldn't have liked to rev like a gasser, it lasted over 9 minutes at full throttle. Not less than 1. Oh well, that's Ford. Selling underengineered crap for 100 years thanks to our protectionist government.

Government purchase these vehicles because it's really safe to drive in, so when an officer of the law is in a high speed chase, he'll LIVE! Also, some corporate companies buy Toyotas (Prius for their gas mileage) by the lot full. I would also love to see a Honda Civic beat a Ford Focus at an autocross event or even a Rally event (I think hell would freeze over before that happens).

My dad owned a '88 Ford Ranger that lasted over 300,000 miles, an E-350 with a Triton V-10 that pulled the family camper multiple times every summer had over 200,000 miles and sold it. Also had powerstroke E-350 box truck he used for work everyday trveled over 200 miles to Baltimore/Washington. I have a 2002 F-350 powerstroke that goes to work with me every day, 204,000 and still goin strong.

@BobDingle25 ive owned 2 fords, one a 99 the other 2004, not even 5 months i get rust problems on the leaf springs and they have snapped on me, rusted ball joints, transmission problems (slipping), headers rusted out and had to replace, rusted power steering....legit 5 fuckin months and i gotta start replacing shit?!! its been almost a year with my 02 silverado and i have had little to no problems with it! FUCK FORD!
