Thank you, thank you for this question!! Finding affordable daycare does not always equal to finding quality daycare. There would be a lot more happier employees if this personal issue, which inturn involes our professional lives, could be addressed.
I've toured the factory and day-care center at the amazing company that Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams founded, and am deeply impressed by what they have achieved. Mitchell is an engaged and active member of society, and he uses his substantial personal influence and financial clout for good works that will benefit every member of society. He is not self-serving in the least, and he inspires me to be a better person. Please support his efforts!
How I and all my friends wish our companies offered something so great. MG&BW, I really respect you for the stand you take on many important issues that should not be, but unfortunately are, political issues. Good for you.

What a beautiful group of children .... how lucky they are to have parents who work for a business that has the good sense and kindness to provide on site day care! Our children are our hope and our future .... what could ever be more important!
Excellent! This is a win-win all around. The children get a constructive, safe, productive environment; parents get peace of mind while working to support their family and our country gets the benefit of both! Thank you Mitchell Gold...a great concept and a VERY important issue for the candidates to address!
As an MG+BW employee and divorced father of a beautiful 4 year old son, the onsite daycare has given me the opportunity to watch him develop, both mentally and physically. Daycare in the workplace is a remarkable benefit that I can only hope others will adopt.
I'm working on a Welfare to Work, Job Readiness Conference for 3,500 people on TANF. The question of childcare is one that is brought to our attention constantly. Many simply cannot afford to pay for childcare on a minimum wage salary. From what I have read, MG+BW is an example of a profitable company that IS able to provide extraordinary benefits for their employees. I'm interested in knowing what each of the Presidential Candidates intends to do to help working families.
If you could have a lounge available to you - approved by management, or a nursery close by so your baby kid could be brought to you or you could check in on your pre-schooler from time to time, I bet you a very large dollar that your employee would be focused for the other 74% of the time - which is more than any worker are "mentally present" anyway, according to the statistics. When do we learn that as a society we can take care of our families and still make a decent buck?!
The fear of Pregnancy and young mothers "not being focused on the job" "or, "they are going to leave anyway" is a phenomenon purely based on the lack of facilities and acceptance of the phases of life we go through. Of course you can't focus on your managerial responsibilities when you have to sneak to the Women's room and pump every 2 hours!
This all speak to the bottom line. In the long run. Talk to anyone in Europe - and you get an explisite: "DHAAH - whe have know this for a long time! - what's your problem?".
Speaking to those who preferably look at the bottom line in a short perspective: It is proven that companies who have the foresight to establish day care programs, flex time, and reasonable maternity leave arrangements for both men and women employees, have a higher work efficiency rate and are retaining workers longer than companies who do not provide these benefits.
I interviewed at MG&BW earlier this year, and while I didn't get the job, this pair's dedication to doing the "right thing" is what I came away with from the experience. I went determined to see the daycare, which I'd heard of before, and to see the legendary "Lulu".....I saw both, and really wish I were a part of the MG&BW team. To see just how rural the location is, and how large the daycare is in relation to the manufacturing facility, left me with a great feeling.
Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams are leaders in providing quality benefits to their employees. CNN & YouTube, I would love to see the candidates response to this question! Mitchell & Bob - keep up the great work!
I can't say enough about what this center does for these children and this community. Many parents are unable to provide such an enriching environment for their children while they work. This is an education-based program has an amazing staff, with learning balanced out by fun. Everyone here takes to heart the success of this center and these incredible children - not because we have to - we want to. I salute Mitchell and Bob for their commitment to this cause, and am honored to be a part of it.
Yaaay, Mitchell. He is very proud of what he does for his employees and for good reason. They need those jobs, and for someone to care for their children while they work. I wish more employers were as responsive as he is.

Providing quality daycare should be a top priority of us all. Especially, to our elected officials. Mitchell, great question!

This is incredible! I defy anyone to politicize this issue -- it's something every American should be behind.

Again too bad that he is more concerned about self promotion of himself and his company than the real issue.
