  • The Mormon Tabernacle air force, awesome!

  • fsx thumbs up

  • Why hasn't anyone made a movie about the developement of the Blackbird? I'd see it twice.

  • Thank you for a haunting tribute to one of America's greatest technological triumphs! Along with the space shuttle she was a marvel and I salute the generation of engineers and technicians who produced her! I just hope and pray that this next generation can exceed this wonder before we are consigned to the scrapheap of history as a great nation!

  • Blackt bird was being flown as early as 1961. Kennedy was President, it was a half century ago. We learned about it in 1964, took just 3 yrs back then to come out of the black, to let the cat out of the bag. No doubt is was replaced by more advanced aircraft, perhaps even more black, greater secrecy being the trend since.

Thx manbird! The video edit, the bird flight are beautiful, inspired, the soundtrack synch brought tears to my uplift eyes, this deep black ... =^.^= I lack, of the skies.

  • This is EXTREMELY well done. You are a superb artist...probably a genius!!!

    'nuff said!

  • usually i hate this kind of video. I was well done though. 5/5 stars

  • May history never forget the name Blackbird.

  • Dude this is awesome! Is this FSX? Ever since upgrading from FS9 my SR-71 flies like crap. I am a former SR-71 Crew Chief and couldn't believe you actually had Buicks!

  • Hiya, I never watch things like this. They have never really interested me until now. This video caught my eye and when it started I watched it through to the end. Well done.

  • Congratulations!

  • what GAME ???????????????????

  • Hiya, I'm back, I watched your vid again, and this is surely a labour of love on your part. It's pure magic!!

  • Oh...I...think words kinda fail me

    :')

  • what's the name of the tune at the beginning?

  • I have this bird for FS9 as well. Very well modeled and unforgiving to the hot dog pilot. Very nice video.

  • Great video Dude!!I love Sr-71,May i ask where can i find this Airplane for my simulator? It looks amazing and reall!Ne way i enjoyed.

  • FSX`?? Good vid

  • uuuuuuh. dude the real jet had to have a jump start from more than two engines. and imediatly after had to be refueled. but other than that its cool.

  • That was excellent.

    -

  • I will never say goodbye to this marvel this is the sexiest thing to grace our skies I love this plane!

  • Nice!!!

  • i saw the b-bird at a museum in Seattle, awsome, not quite as big as u would think as it looks in photos. Like most celebs.

  • it makes me feel as if i want to die since i cant be with this plane.

  • wow that was put together very nicely :)

  • "I ain'T no cherry!" F ing hilarious LMFASO!!!

  • I have this aircraft also. It's a beautiful simulation of the Blackbird. However, when I'm above FL250 or so, it seems as if I lose power. The afterburners won't ignite and I can only achieve speeds of 300kts or so. What am I doing wrong? lol

  • You don't have super cruise

  • The plane struggles to get through mach, you need to level out at around FL320 and wait for the craft to get above mach 1, then it will steadily transition into rapid accelaration as it passes mach 1.2, you may then continue climbing, making sure to keep your knots below the speed indicated next to the triple display indicator.

  • Excelent video, congratulation, and can you tell me the name of that song?? its really beautiful. Thnx

  • THankyou!! I think the song shows up at the bottom of the vid. I totally forgot what it was! hehe

  • @PsyNikoBellic Thats "Cadillac of the Skies" from John Williams

  • well the video almost looks real at some angles...

  • Yeah, I seem to have nailed it on some angles, others not so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • @manbird12000 and, that i did

  • @manbird12000 Thanks manbird your vids are the best, watched the XB-70 good job, keep it up, we love it! Former AF here ,now just the audience.Love and peace be to you and yours.

  • Awesome video man, whats the music and also i'm guessing this is an add on for a flight sim game anybody know which one and where you can get it? Cheers.

  • THankyou! I completely forgot the name of the song, but it's in the messages below, I think it's stated on the video too at the bottom.

  • 500000* I usually don't like flight sim vids but this one you made special. The detail, timing and choice of music are just great. The SR is my favorite bird of all time, I feel like I just said goodbye to her. Thanks.

  • Thankyou!!

  • @pelagic6 This really does seem like a dedication video. If it's not.

  • We have an FS9 version and a fully native FSX version at AlphaSim. Since that project I have not released anything else. I just don't see the point when I've made the greatest aircraft of all time everything else is dull!!

  • that was an AMAZING video!!!!!!!!1 we all miss u Blackbird. y did they have to retire u!!?!! :'(

  • i kindav like the music whats the name?

  • fsx

  • Oh this is great, when I saw it was a simulation I didn't think I'd enjoy it, bit the attention to detail was great.

One suggestion. When I saw the SR71 on display I noticed that the various pilots had signed the inside of the front landing gear doors in felt tip pen. For others like me that noticed this on the real bird, I think a sweep past the landing gear showing this would really impress!

  • this is the best sim flight video i've ever seen. my congratulations and thanks a lot!!!

  • THankyou! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • WOW! Simply WOW!. This my friend is the best SR-71 video on Youtube. The music, the beautifully taken angles just gave me the epic impression of what a great machine this is. A big step for mankind. I salute you manbird O¨/ You got me as a subscriber.

  • THankyou Xclusiv8!!!! I'm glad you enjoyed this video!

  • How much the SR-71 isn't leaking fuel on the runway?

  • This is your captain speaking. Please raise your seatbacks and tray table to the upright and locked position.

Interstellar hyperdrives are about to engage.

  • LOL

  • What flightsimulator is that?

    Thank u.

  • i'm impressed for such a beautiful video. I was looking for videos of the SR71 and i have found this little treasure, the best one i've found. Nice tribute for a great plane. Thank you.

  • Wow, awesome. Thankyou !!!!!!!

  • will this work with sp2?

  • The best tribute to the SR71. thank you for the great memories of a plane 50+ years ahead of its time. and an awesome montage as well

  • Thankyou!

  • dude where did u get this version of the SR 71????..its awesome

  • It's at alphasim. It's the best payware SR

  • sr 71 is actually the most beautiful plane i ever saw..maybe with the B2 ...just so cool.3,2 machs cruise speed? how cool is that

  • fu#k im sick of all the gay sim shit on the net.stop wasteing your time in front of a computer pretending to be a pilot and go lern to fly a real plane

  • I am a real pilot. So what's next out of that little brain of yours?

  • haha, guess he has no awnser to that one :D, what type of planes do you fly ?

  • Nice plane, but i hate that damn I-beam that block the view when landing.

  • ditto..that's why I have to use TrackIR for this one. I'll move my head to the side.

  • Awesome montage!

  • Hey thanks!!!

  • Half year ago, your Bob Hoover tribute almost make me cry. This video keeps that great quality. AWESOME work man!!!!

PS: And as I said half year ago, all other fs "captures" posted on youtube are garbage

  • Thanks mrlarotta. Wow, time is flying. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It's one of my favorites as well. :)

  • I love cartoons!! The detail of the plane shaking at chute deployment... effing cool!

    JD 82D

    ps. i ain't no cherry!!!...heh...heh...

  • That is one amazing video, perfect sound and stunning detail. Well done to you for uploading that!

  • i have that plane on FS2004, its the only addon ive ever bought instead of downloaded and it was worth every penny, the detail is truly amazing and the plane is spectacular to fly

  • :)!! hehe, thanks eternalswah!!! We'll leave the cryin bit between you and me...;)

  • nice.very good

  • Thankyou!

  • Wow one of the best FSX videos I have ever seen! Great job putting that all together - awesome! 5stars!

  • Thanks tsanderson24! This is FS2004 though. :)

  • Most impressive!

    How about something hypersonic?

  • Now you're talkin'. I wish there was a really good model of a plane like that...

  • sweet blackbird I love fsx and how fast can it go in fsx?

  • I'm not sure about FSX, I only fly fs2004, but I've taken this thing pretty fast. I did a round the world flight in it a few months ago, I did a fuel mid air refuels and I stopped off at Hawaii and Sydney, but it was a blast, especially with real weather. Seeing those storm systems pass underyou that quickly was just awesome.

  • Blackbird 4 ever

  • this a game? it look real.

  • Muy buen vídeo!!! saludos desde Chile

  • very nice video

  • Thankyou!

  • What the hell is with all these damn computer generated bullshit! At least put it in the title so people know!

  • not a problem you seem like a great pilot we should get together and fly sometime

  • you fly Vatsim?

  • not normally i just jump on gamespy or gayspy as we call it and just fly and have fun

  • wow, I didn't think you could fly on Gamespy.

  • well for fsx u can but not 2004 i play 2004 sometimes but normally for testing purposes when im trying to convert 2004 a/c into decent fsx ones

  • 5 stars...where can i get this Virtual cockpit?

please whatch my sr 71 video...

  • My dad forwarded this to a friend of his that was an SR-71 pilot. Haven't got feedback yet, but will post when I hear.

  • Awesome, I'd love to hear his thoughts. Even if they're negative. :)

  • Will report when I get the privilege to talk with him.

  • I didnt know the engines are startet like that. amazing. How do smaller planes manage to start them by themselves???

  • The smaller jets start their engines usually by high pressure air that turns the engines until the fuel can be injected.

  • Oh and also, "I AINT NO CHERRY"!! Hey kids check out the peach on the tail of the SR-71. And look up Habu, Lockheed, and Blackworld Skunk Works. The U-2 came from that bunch of genious minds too!!

  • That is one awesome tribute to Habu MB!! I'm watching it over and over. Amazing an aircraft designed and built in the 1960's before internet and ipod could still look like something from a most recent movie.

  • Magic! Kelly Johnson would be proud.

  • Thankyou logo!

  • everything about that plane just screams awesome...how long ya think it would take to fly around the entire world in that at full speed with unlimited fuel?

  • This Video is what dreams are made of! It brings back my childhood feelings of when I first laid eyes on the F-16 and let to my current career as a fighter mechanic!

Yes I am back again still impressed with this video as much as I was over a year ago!

  • Welcome back my friend, I am glad this video sparks emotion within. I poured my heart into this one. Cheers,

    Birdy

  • this video made me proud that i am FSX user

  • So true. Same with me!!

  • It made me shiver of emotion! great vid!

  • Thanks zigul!

  • Agreed. sent a tingle down my spine watching the vid. This guys is great at puttin emotion in his vids.

  • Very very nice. Sure a lot of work to adjust music and video. Thank's for this video! ;-)

  • Very impressed with this clip. I don't know how you do it, but thank you for capturing the SR-71. It's one of the greatest!

  • Thankyou thumpenator!

  • Amazingly life like.

  • music and video, absolutely magnificent!

  • thankyou

  • where did u get it from cos i cant find one that works =(

  • alphasim has it, it's the best on the market I think. And it's probably dirt cheap by now.

  • thank you so very much for this video!

  • (smiles) thankYOU!

  • Manbird, I first saw this video a year ago (I'm still deeply impressed), and I posted some HABU stats/info then about the plane, including the flame at engine startup. What you probably should do (if you haven't done so already) is see if you can enter this video in some kind of competition; obviously I am not the only one who thinks it is masterfully and professionally conceived and produced. Maybe contact Air & Space magazine. It's definitely a winner. GOOD LUCK!

  • funny you should apply the brake more carefully

but still good vid i was not much of a blackbird fan but now i am

  • hehe, yeah that brake surprised me, I had maximum set

  • Absolutely EPIC..... What a Majestic bird and for us civilians to be able to experience it, even if in a flight simulator. Fantastic vid!

  • how do i make the detailed clouds option available????????? sometimes the game allows me to, and other times it wont be clickablle, just grey! and the clouds look like white lines!!! please help me, i have been trying to get the realistic clouds for weeks now.

  • Are you using ActiveSky?

  • No, i use my jowstick hat switch to move my carmra.

  • i love how it starts the engines

  • this game is called flight simulator 2004 u can download it from internet or buy the game from shops.

  • Excellent use of cadillac of the skies.

  • what is this game called?

  • flight simulator X

  • Actually it's fs2004

  • that is one kick ass bird.

  • its engiens are stronger than 45 locomotives there are only 3 in sevis which is smart so they dont destroy the quwinckly the are facinating planes

  • Thanks manbird. Great work giving this aircraft the credit it deserves.

  • Even though a virtual depiction of the beautiful SR-71, it a very complete video. Thank you very much. :)

  • wow...

  • beautifully put together, fitting song! nice work man! i love the realistic looking afterburners ,and white wind wash look. That is one kewl SIMULATOR, i must have it!

  • what video game is this i know a black bird pilot and want to get this for him!

  • you all are being too damn picky. Beautiful job!

  • I thought in the explanation Alpha Sim said this plane was for FSX only???

  • nope. It came out for fs9 originally, then it was modified to work in fsx.

  • that can't be FS nor x-plane can u give me the name of sim u use? graphics and the cam angles are not similiar with FS i have it on my FS but those 4 models but not that one i think that's a different programme

  • This is FS2004. Using the Alphasim SR-71

  • ok thnx but the angles of cam doesn't look similiar with FS2004 and the graphics have more details maybe cos of your updated scenery files anyway thnx for the info well fly in safe and check your landing gear out :)

  • thats probably because he is using Active Camera 2004 to go around the plane and the engine start shaking is an movie effect ;-)
