haha when was this? They look so young! Never saw this one, but I have seen them do "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" several times, strictly a capella. They are amazing. They do still tour, but not very often.
Have seen them do this one live several times! Fantastic harmonies and a great group of guys. Solid musicians all the way around. Wish they still toured Florida as much as in the early 90s!
This song wonderfuly demonstates that ALL Christian music was contemporary at one time. I believe sometimes we get hung up in style preferance. I think it is awsome after seeing how God has tried over the years to reach many in a way that they can understand. This is the only song I know of that illustrates what contemporary christian music is in song. I pray that CCM can go on being all things to to all men but yet maintaining Biblical accuracy!
sorry matt, I dropped A4jesus a line back on 12/17 telling him that the video wouldn't load and I never heard back from him. I too would love to see this, having seen Glad do it live a few times during the 80's. Oh well, peace out...
Then U missed out (sorry) because they always extended it in concert(especially with a longer more intense guitar solo just before getting to the "this is the way GLAD would sing this hymn today" speech). The second time I saw GLAD was on the baseball field at North Greenville College in 1983. They blew all the breakers in the dormitory above the ballfield early on and it took about 30 minutes for the problem to be fixed but GLAD extended the show and really rocked the crowd.
I heard them do this in concert ages ago. They were touring with Sandi Patty. Thanks so much for putting this on YouTube. I don't know where you found all these precious videos, but I am sure GLAD you did!
This is excellent! Thanks so much A4Jesus. I interviewed GLAD back in the late 80's and again in the early 90's and have always enjoyed their hearts and their sound. Today I am teaching a class in popular music and REALLY wanted to find this one as an example of the way popular music affects CCM. Thank you!!! :-)
When I was a Sophomore at a Christian College I was introduced to Glad. They did a great job on this one. One of my Best
