actually i had mine for about a week and called them about the screen....they sent me a return label and refund my money with no penalty...maybe because i got a good deal with miine.
no...the screen viewing angle looks like it came from the 90s laptop....i do like the slim and built factor....Other slim laptop like the HP DM3 has a better screen. If you're really that curious, just buy because DELL gives you 21 days to use it and full refund .
@DJTEVAdotCOM I agree that the screen is not top notch but keep in mind that this is a Vostro, which is aimed at the business class. If you want a multimedia or gaming system then buy the adamo, which is only $999 now. Also, you no longer can simply return a laptop because you don't like it without paying a restock fee. Although if you complain about it on Twitter you may get someone to help you return it sans the penalty.
I had this laptop for 4 days and return it. built quality is good and its thin and light but the screen is horrible. You can only see shadows if you stand at a 45 degree angle. The screen is worst than netbooks ive owned. My old DELL from 3 years ago had a better screen than this one. I guess we know we Dell made the sacrifice.

V13 is a piece of crap. Claim as Core 2 Duo but actually is a Core 2 solo laptop. Claimed 30% thin than competitor but to which? Apple? Toshiba? Sony? Asus? HP?
Perhaps there is crap in your eyes? Listed below are the CPU's available for the V13. ProcessorIntel® Celeron® M Processor ULV 743 (1M Cache, 1.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) Processor ProcessorIntel® Core™2 Solo Processor ULV SU3500 (3M Cache, 1.40 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Similar to the Adamo - the panel at the top of the keyboard is a little flimsy if you press on it. Otherwise, it's solid - the metal shell around the outside is very nice. I'm going to open it up today and find out if I can update the RAM. I'll film that too and post it as a follow up. Thanks for watching!
By any chance, have you tested to see how long the battery lasts yet?
I am really considering purchasing the su7300 version since I cannot find another comparable laptop (i.e. not a fingerprint magnet) at this price point .
I have not done a formal test but I've been using it since 1pm, surfing & installing software and the meter says I have another hour of use left and it's 5pm here. Pretty good if you ask me. I'm very happy with this laptop - the ONLY thing I wish it had is a backlit keyboard.
I'm really interested in this laptop but was scared off by the processor that's offered with the Ubuntu version. How well does it run and do you plan on doing a full review?
So far it's excellent. I immediately stripped it and installed Windows 7 (32bit). Was disappointed that Dell didn't make 64 bit drivers for this unit. That said, it runs great and is really light. Much lighter than the Adamo and the Studio XPS 13.

Thanks for the video.
It seems the only sad thing in this laptop is the lack of HDMI port.
Just FYI - your link to the full review appears to be non-working.

Thanks! I updated the link - good catch.

@KlipschHead281 if i upgrade the then what about the ghz...?
amitq99 3 months ago
hey, then which one is at least nearly comparable to V13?!
this device is really thin, also note it actually has the same (constant) width - NO STICKING UP BATTERY!

Which one did you get? Is this the base model??
GadgetAddicted 2 years ago
Yes, this is the base model & it came with Ubuntu. I plan to upgrade the RAM (if possible) and the HDD to an SSD.

@seojnichols Looks great man! I love how thin it is! Is there any flex or cheapness feel to the laptop? How would you upgrade the HD and the Ram?>
